- Things which I liked here is the different clubs where you can enhance yourself and can gain confidence and there are almost clubs of each stream which studentslike.
- Here their is a entreprenurship cell where you can pitch your ideas can get funded from the institution and can also skip a semester if you are thing of working on your idea.
- If you are from a earth based department so don't give demotivated that you are not from computer based department ,. This institute is india's top institute if you are thing of having a career in earth science department.
Dislikes
- The thing which i disliked is the campus area is not so big as you have dreamt of while preparing for IIT and you can easily roam around the campus in 1 or 2 dayn
- College has not so good sports facility but you have a lot of sports club but of not so well facility .But college is expanding its boundaries and is opening its new campus where all sports facility will be present.
- The city life here is not so good and Dhanbad is not a big city like delhi ,mumbai .Here you are not allowed to move out of college after 10 pm since whole dhanbad got closed before 10
Remarks :
The admission here is through JEE Advance which is one of the toughest exam in India and which occurs after your 12 th and you can give jee advanced in two consecutive year after you qualify jee mains and depending upon what rank you are getting which goes under the counselling process done by NTA where you have to fill choices and depending upon your rank you get college . After you got alloted to ISM an offer letter from this institution will be send to your mail .
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum here is as par as compared to most of the other IITs of our country. The curriculum provides practical as well as regular theroy which helps to enhance you thinking in the subject. The practical classes are taken by the top faculty of that subject in India. However curriculum is bit hard but you came here after clearing on the hardest exam of india so you can easily cope up with the situation. The curriculum is enough to get you clear concept of the subject you are studying and by help of the course you can easily qualify GATE and other competitive exam.However the course curriculum must be reevaluted so that it can be made slightly easier for student to enjoy and collect the information and teaching must focus equal on both practical and theory. Exam happen twice in a semester of 4 months which inculdes 2 quiz at both mid sem and end sem .
Internships Opportunities :
The intership faculty is good in this college and you can avail internship after your 2nd year gets completed and most of the top companies came here for hiring intern with a good stipend varying from 20k-1.5lpa for 3 to 6 months. You can avail Internship in both core and non core depending upon their criteria and the roles they offered.
Placement Experience :
Since It is a top institute in india placement here is very good most of the students get placed here . Internship is also their in the college which you can avail after 2nd year depending upon you skills and your interest in core and non core. All most all the top companies of India and World came here for placement and made offers .Average package here is 18 lpa and highest package of 2023-204 sessionis 2.15 Cr . All most 90% student avail offer and those who don't get placement are mostly those who decides to go for higher studies.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Their is a general perception among people that since you are studying in India's top engineering college and is goverment control so you have to pay very less fee and i am telling you that this is false. Fees are high here too but you got lot of scholarship opportunties which you can collect depending upon your educational abilites and other caste based categories. Fees for a general category student who is not availing any scholarship has to pay about 2.5lakh in a year ,whereas student having annual income less than 5 lakh can enjoy upto 2/3rd of fees waving and thoes having below 1 lakh can enjoy upto 100% fee waving. Student coming from STs and SCs have not to pay tutuion fees but only hostel fees.Their has a lot of scholarship opportunties from differnet institution and from alumnis of the college which you can enjoy if you have a bare mininum of 7 cgpa.
Campus Life :
Fests in IIT ism the one thing which attract students more since it is a IIT Fest here is too good .There are 3 offical fest in this college and many depertmental fest in the college . College has a technical fest knowns as Concetto which occurs in September every year .Srijan which is a eastern India biggest cultural fest which occurs in Last of Jan or start of Feb which students from different college came to participate.Prakaram which is annual sports fest .Sports and extracurricular activities are promoted here and has good culture .There are also different clubs in the college where student can enjoy.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel here is mostly old and you will not be happy after seeing the room however their is a new hostel also which is avali by 2nd and 3 rd year student.Student till 3rd have double occupancy room where 1st year students get Amber hostel which is bit old and is too small for two students to occupy. However the mess is good .Students from 2nd and 3rd year got aquamarine hostel which is newly built and has mostly all facilities and also a good room with good mess and 4th year student occupy Jasper hostel which is a single occupancy room however room is bit small. Hostel is affordable for everyone which costs 16k for a sem .
Faculty :
The faculty members here are excellelent just like all top engineering college has.Top proffesor for differentdepartement taught here and proffesors of earth science departement is best here a copared to all the IIT's. The faculty student ratio is also good and proffessors are helpful. Their teaching method can amaze you and sometimes will make you confused.All the profferssors are good here and provide good mentorship to us and you can ask for a help any time from them and they are ready to share their ideas of the filed where you are asking for help.Interaction between teachers and students is bit low but not negligble and you acan approach them easily if you need a help.

In 5th semester students get eligible for the placement, there are many big companies like TATA and JSW, Amazon and Deshaw visit the campus for recruitment. The highest package offered recently was 55 lpa. avg is 7 lpa. My plan is also to grab good placement.

Yes placements are there but not as much as good than Top NITs/IITs. This colleges gives you double of the money which you will invest in your 4 yr of B.Tech. Mainly 80% of students get placed with 8.5Lpa average ctc and get upto 55Lpa if you manages to crack MNCs for tech.

Here college provided campus placement but in very less amount. Many companies are come in our college like TCS, Bentley, Wipro etc. The highest placement is 12 lakh per annum and average is 4 lakh per annum. 20 percentage of students getting placement from campus or other getting from off campus.

The placement season starts during 7th semester when various companies come to camous to recruit students. Top companies such as google, amazon,microsoft, coal india, texas instumentation, ONGC etc visits the campus for recruirment. Around 60 -70 percent of the students get placed every year. The highest package from the camous was about 1cr . And the average package of the college was about 15-16 lakhs Apart from the capmus placement many students apply for off campus placement for which also tge college helps.

Almost 20% - 30% students get placement every year but placement is all depends on student how they perform the interview and exams.
