Among these NSIT is better in terms of placements. DTU placements are good as well. But due to a lower batch size, the competition is lower at NSIT. Here are the highlights of NSIT placements 2022.

Parameters  Statistics
Placement rate  73%
Median CTC  INR 13 LPA
Students placed  632

The recruiting companies are similar for NSIT and DTU. NIT Delhi ranks lower than these institutes in terms of placements.

IIIT Allahabad ECE is the best among these. It has a better course structure. The infrastructure and facilities are better as well.

IIIT Allahabad has one of the best coding cultures in the country. Even as a student of ECE, you can learn to code and have decent placement opportunities in the IT sector.

IIIIT Allahabad ECE average package is INR 12.5 LPA. More than 85% of students of the branch get offers from dream companies. ECE MNC companies such as Qualcomm visit the campus placements.

It's nearly impossible to get any branch in any of the colleges mentioned above. The colleges mentioned above are all NITs in particular NIT Goa, NIT Jaipur, and NIT Delhi.

None of the NITs open admission for the rank of around 180k so it would be better if you should prepare well and appear for the exam in the next year or take admission in any private college. There's no chance that any NIT would offer admission for 180k rank.

Definitely, you should go for NIT Jalandhar. There are various reasons and differences due to which NIT Jalandhar is the better option for CSE.

  • The first and foremost reason is the establishment. NIT Jalandhar is a well-established institute whereas NITD is still juggling to fit in the stream.
  • With the better ranking and almost all the courses available NIT Jalandhar has a huge campus which will give you a better campus life. Whereas, NITD is a small campus with a few numbers of available courses.
  • When it comes to CSE, there has been a decent placement from the past few years. Few top companies that one could count on recruitment are Amazon, Sapient, IBM, Infosys, etc.
  • Although NITD, being in the central position gives you good internship choices to CSE students in the Delhi NCR region. So, if you want to opt for a particular CSE branch then you can take a chance but for any other stream, NITD is a big no.
  • NITJ has a good CSE alumni base who are working in top companies. Therefore, placement is never a big problem here.

The table below shows a brief insight on both NITs:

In US, Indian software engineers earn around $60k-$80k in entry-level jobs. After 3-5 years of work experience, the salary amount becomes $90k-$130k. For software engineering professionals with around 5-10 years of experience, the salary package is around $130-$200k.

Jobs in the Software industry have little to do with the university you graduated from. The international recruiters look for skills. If you have industry-relevant skills, you will receive good placement opportunities. After doing an MCA you can get jobs in US, if you fulfill the skill requirement.

One of my friends is presently studying at NIT Kurukshetra, and he has a good idea about NIT Delhi. But he does not tell me more about NIT Jamshedpur, as he has limited knowledge about this institute.

The following table shows a brief overview of these three institutes:

The above table shows that NIT Kurukshetra(KKR) > NIT Jamshedpur> NIT Delhi.

  • Presently, the college administration of NIT KKR has updated their curriculum, in which you have to read 6 core subjects in your first-year study. However, it will help you to get closer to your respective branch.
  • Recently, the director of this institute, namely Dr. Satish Kumar. Since his appointment, this institute is progressing continuously. My friend told me that within 6months, he opened a swimming pool, which is Olympic Standards.
  • The classes are completely air-conditioned, with an installation of a new supercomputer. Indeed, NIT KKR was not considered a good college a few years back, but these days it is not at all behind the other top institutes as it is developing gradually.

Besides, NIT Delhi is a newly opened institute with a temporary college campus. Someone mentioned that the students have to travel approximately 2 hours from their hostel room to the college rooms in NIT Delhi, which is quite tiresome. The Alumni Network is completely lagging as it is a new institute.

Additionally, NIT Jamshedpur provides good placement in comparison to NIT Kurukshetra. It is the only thing that supports the rankings of an institute, respecting other colleges. Another important thing is that if you are from Eastern Part, then opt for NIT Jamshedpur.

Both institutes are well known for their excellent education and opportunities offered. So you can choose the branch and college on the basis of your own preferences. However, some points you might want or consider

Campus: NIT Delhi operates from a temporary campus which is located far away from the country and its permanent campus is still under construction. IIT Delhi on the other hand is a fully-fledged established Institute with a fully functioning well facilitated campus.

Placements: Although Textile Engineering has very few core job opportunities, people tend to go for non-core jobs instead to secure a high-paying job at a top company. Meanwhile, NIT Delhi being younger than IIT Delhi has fewer companies visiting campus with CS roles despite being a demanded branch.

If you are actually keen to pursue CSE, go for better Engineering colleges like NITs, DTU, NSIT, and IIIT D. In fact even at IIT Delhi, you can pursue your coding passion alongside your main branch textile and sit for IT placements. The final decision is yours to make and you can consider additional aspects like fees, location, and academics while making your decision.

There are 2 factors involved here. First is the branch and the second is the institute. Speaking course wise ECE and EEE are somewhat similar and offer good career opportunities. You can choose either according to your interest.

NIT Delhi is 2 years younger than BITS Hyderabad campus and 6 years younger than BITS Goa campus. The older the institute offers better opportunities and better known.

So BITS has an edge over NIT Delhi in providing the best opportunities when the institute factor is taken. BITS also has much more recruiters than NIT Delhi. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at BITS Goa and BITS Hyderabad is around 5 LPA.

Both IIIT Kota and NIT Delhi are government colleges and come with a fancy tag of IIIT and NIT. But LNMIIT is better than the above two. Here are the reasons why.

  • Academics and Cultural Fests at LNMIIT are much better than those of IIIT Kota and NIT Delhi.
  • LNMIIT is well established as it was established much before IIIT Kota and NIT Delhi. Due to the above point, it has a vast alumni network.
  • The academic and Coding environment at LNMIIT is much better than IIIT Kota and NIT Delhi and hence it provides ample opportunities for its students to grow.
  • Not just is Coding, LNMIIT provides many opportunities in other fields too.
  • There are many societies and clubs like tech clubs, sports clubs, etc which provides everyone with a fair chance to grow and get involved in things he likes.

Finally, if you are a learning enthusiast and are keen to explore new things, you won't regret joining this college. My friend was torn between choices a few years back, and after much consideration he chooses LNMIIT. Based on his experience, I can say it was the right decision.

I know some people from both NIT Delhi and NIT Raipur, so I feel like I can give you some insight into them.

  • NIT Raipur is older than NIT Delhi in terms of establishment, and it also has a strong alumni network. NIT Raipur was transformed from GEC to NIT in the year 2000.
  • As one may expect, the campus is smaller than that of other NITs.
  • The college is regularly working to develop a strong coding culture.
  • It has a strong alumni network with the people working at Google, Amazon, Microsoft, UHG, Deloitte, and other MNCs.
  • The junior-senior bonding on campus is amazing. Your seniors will be always available to assist and guide you.
  • There are about 18 clubs and committees at NIT Raipur. You can join any clubs that interest you.
  • The CSE department features two labs with decent internet access about 2 MBps download speed. The computer lab currently has i7 7th generation machines with 4 to 8 GB RAM.
  • If you want to experience campus life, NIT Raipur is probably not the place to go because the campus is too small. NIT Raipur has greater hostel space, however, it is very limited after the second year, and the college has its own train station.
