Course Description

IIIT Delhi BTech Admissions 2024 registrations are going on. IIT Delhi BTech Admissions 2023 are based on the JEE Main scores followed by JAC counseling. The registration period will begin on November 1, 2023, and will end on November 30, 2023. The cutoff for IIIT Delhi Round 1-5 has been released by JAC Delhi 2023. JAC cutoff 2023 and Round 5 seat allotment has been declared on July 26, 2023. JAC Delhi 2023 physical spot round will take place on August 2-August 4 depending on the available vacancies. IIIT Delhi B.Tech is a 4-Years duration program divided into 8 semesters. IIIT Delhi B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission, candidates must have passed 10+2 from CBSE Board with at least 70% marks or from its equivalent Institution
Candidate must have Physics, Maths, and Chemistry (PCM) as major subjects in class 10+2
Candidates must qualify JEE Main or UCEED examination to be eligible for admission.
Interested candidates to apply in B.Tech (CSD) program, can seek admission with UCEED rank
Those interested to apply in B.Tech (CS) can seek admission through class XII marks.
The minimum percentage required for B.Tech courses at the qualifying examination along with the relaxation in marks due to COVID-19 are:

Visit the official website of IIIT Delhi.
Register with the contact number & Email by clicking on the “Apply Now” option.
Fill the form with the basic personal details like Name, father’s name, DOB, contact number, and valid Email, and create a password
After the successful registration, upload all the required documents by login in
Upload the scanned passport-sized photograph and signature
After correctly filling up the application form and paying the application fees of INR 1400/- through a Credit/Debit card or Net Banking/UPI Wallet
Printout of the pay slip and application form must be taken out for future reference.

IIIT Delhi B.Tech Course Details

IIIT Delhi B.Tech program is a 4 years program, divided into 8 semesters.
IIIT Delhi, the students need to have 156 credits to achieve a B.Tech Degree.

IIIT Delhi has a B. Tech Honors for which a student needs to earn at least 168 credits
The student must have an 8.0 CGPA at the time of graduation to have Honors along with a B.Tech project

Students can choose their Summer Internship program at IIIT Delhi between May- July for a max duration of 6-8 weeks.
They can also do Summer Internships of 4-6 months. B.Tech Students pursuing long-duration internships need to do an extended semester to complete graduation.

IIIT Delhi CSE is a better option compared to DTU Mechanical. It is a great option for pursuing a CSE degree. The institute has a great faculty pool. It also offers good placement opportunities. According to the 2021 placement highlights, IIIT Delhi CSE average package is INR 16.81 LPA. IIIT Delhi also has an active research culture.

DTU offers a better brand value, campus life, but as a branch, CSE is better than Mechanical.

Why are IIIT's such as IIIT-Hyderabad, IIIT-Delhi and IIIT-Allahabad so under-rated?

IIIT Allahabad is better than IIIT Delhi. It offers great academics in IT and has an extremely competitive campus environment. Students of the institute dominate almost every major coding platform. Over the years IIIT Allahabad students made their presence felt in competitive coding events such as GSoC, ACM ICPC, and Google Code Jam.

IIIT Allahabad placements 2022 witnessed an average CTC of INR 19 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 32.2 LPA.

Yes, you can go for IIIT Delhi without any second thought. The institute has come a long way and it has improved its reputation. It can easily compete with some of the most sought-after institutes.

Placements: In its latest placement season, more than 140 companies have visited the campus and made a total of 585 offers to its students. The highest domestic package was INR 50 LPA and the international offer was INR 37.50 LPA. The average package offered was INR 16.14 LPA.
Faculty: It can obviously be said with certainty that the faculty of IIIT Delhi is enviable and can stand toe to toe with the institutes mentioned in the question.
Coding Culture: IIITD has dedicated clubs with great coding culture for students. Previously, 15 students got selected for Google Summer of Code.
Hostels: The hostel rooms at this institute are much better than any government college. Proper air-conditioning is provided at nights during summers and heaters during winters.
Location: IIITD enjoys the locational advantage of being situated in the capital city. You will be given great exposure and opportunities. NITs, on the other hand, are located far away from the cities and you may face travel problems.

Some of the disadvantages that you may encounter at IIITD are the reputation and campus life that NITs carries. They are more reputable than IIITD and have a great campus life.

It's possible that IIIT Delhi is superior to IIIT Allahabad because of its prime location and excellent faculty and placement statistics.

IIIT Allahabad is also a National Institute of Importance, but IIIT Delhi is not.
The coding culture isn't even close to being equivalent; IIIT-D is far superior.
Professors at IIIT-D are generally PhDs from prominent universities throughout the world, therefore their experience and letters of recommendation are quite valuable.
Another plus for Delhi is that the research climate is excellent, especially for undergraduates.
Technically, neither has “100%” placements, but their placements are extremely similar overall—Delhi to Allahabad.
The differential in tuition prices is the most compelling reason to pick IIIT Allahabad over IIIT Delhi.

Among these, IIIT Delhi is the better choice for a Computer Science degree. It is a research institute, so you will get to learn through hands-on experience, and projects, rather than just theory. IIIT Delhi CSE syllabus puts more emphasis on core subjects. You will study subjects like Intro to Programming, and Systems Management, from the first year itself.

The programming community at IIIT Delhi is amazing. They have clubs like Byld and Foobar. IIIT Delhi will offer you endless opportunities to upskill yourself.

In terms of placements, IIIT Delhi and BITS Mesra are almost on the same level. As per the 2021 placement highlights, the average CTC for IIIT Delhi was INR 14 LPA.

IIIT Delhi has an amazing coding culture. You will get to learn a lot about programming from your seniors and peers.

You should choose IIIT Allahabad. In terms of academics, infrastructure and placements, it is ahead of the other institutes mentioned here. IIIT Allahabad alumni network is huge. Alumni of the institute are working at the higher echelons of the industry. The networking opportunities are plenty.

IIIT Allahabad placements have been great in recent years. For placements 2022 the average CTC offered was INR 19 LPA.

Should I go to NSIT, IT , IIIT Allahabad or IIIT Delhi?

NSIT has better placement statistics and the maximum package offered to an on-campus placed student than IIIT-A, but you (as an IT student at NSIT) will be sitting with CE students for placements, which is the more well-known branch of the two.

However, when comparing the IT departments of the two colleges, IIIT-A was created as a centre of excellence in the field of IT and is well-known for its curriculum.
The disciplines taught here are also part of the curriculum of several prestigious universities around the country.
In terms of your interests, if you're interested in coding, IIIT-A is the place to go.

IIIT Delhi is the better option for CS. It has an excellent CS curriculum. It has a great research culture and offers plenty of opportunities to explore one’s interests. The coding culture on campus is great. There are weekly programming contests in Competitive Programming, Cyber Security, Web development, etc. IIITD has a coding club named FooBar. You will get good opportunities to improve your coding skills and algorithms.

IIIT Delhi placements have been great over the last few years. During the 2022 placement drive, students received an average CTC of INR 19.72 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 1.84 CPA.
