Course Description

University of Hyderabad MBA Admission 2024 is open now. The last date to apply is December 31, 2023. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website @acad.uohyd.ac.in. The application fee is INR 600 for general (INR 550/- EWS/INR 400 OBC/ INR 275/- OBC/SC/ST/PWD(PH)). Admissions to the MBA program will be based on CAT scores followed by GD and PI conducted by the university. CAT 2023 exam will be held on November 26, 2023.

University of Hyderabad offers the MBA course at PG domain for a duration of two years with an intake of 60 students. The MBA course is spread over four semesters in full-time mode & on-campus basis. There are 7 specializations in MBA at the University of Hyderabad namely, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship, Business Analytics & Banking. University of Hyderabad MBA Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an MBA course at University of Hyderabad students must pass graduation in any discipline with 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

Eligibility for foreign candidates:

Bachelor’s degree in first class in any field from an officially recognized University/Institution in their country of residence with 60% or above the mark.
Two academic references and must submit a statement of purpose.
NRI candidates may apply directly to the MBA course.

Students willing to secure a seat at University of Hyderabad must score valid marks in the CAT. The qualified marks should exceed or meet the cutoff that is asked by the university to get admission. Shortlisted candidates will be called for group discussion & interview sessions.

University of Hyderabad MBA Course Details

The university offers an MBA program for two academic years and the curriculum is spread over 4 semesters, core and foundation courses are offered. These include Management concepts and approaches, Managerial Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Quantitative Techniques, Business Analytics, Economics, Information Technology, Communication and Personal effectiveness, Operations Management, Research Methodology, and Business Environment. In addition, a five-day concentrated Self-awareness and Growth Lab is also organized during the first semester.

The students are required to get some practical exposure by undertaking eight weeks of internships in an organization during the summer intervening between the second and third semesters. These internships are intended to familiarize the students with current management practices, work environments, and organizational cultures. As such, the summer internship is an integral part of the MBA program.

During the second year, the students have the opportunity to specialize in two selected areas of their interest. These specializations are offered through electives and project work spread over the two semesters.

Course Credit:

For the first two semesters, the MBA course includes a total number of 27 credits and it is compulsory that students need to go for the Summer Internship projects for about 8 weeks.
The 3rd & 4th credits comprise consecutively 24 & 15 credits. The whole curriculum has 93 credits in all total.

The University of Hyderabad is a lot more than academics. I have a few friends from the University of Hyderabad and here is their insight on the institute. There are various places you can explore on the campus including the Water Tank, Mushroom Rock, and Check Dam. Apart from this, you can do campfires on campus, where you can gather with your friends even at late nights and can cook food and enjoy. The University of Hyderabad is not just an institute that provides academics and education. It helps a student gain experience and understands the true meaning of life which is more important than being a reading parrot. The campus is a beautiful and large lush green campus which is so huge that it is further divided into two campuses where students can jog, play any kind of sports be it outdoor or indoor, ranging from Tennis to Football or gym, etc. Therefore, the campus encourages sports at every level. The faculty base of the institute is quite good. They are experienced and cooperative. The Indira Gandhi Memorial Library is a great place to study. There are lots of study materials and books. The hostels are clean and well-maintained. There are mess facilities available at each hostel. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But the quality of food offered is not that great. The University gives freedom to a student to stay up late at night, to go out of the campus at any hour. You can visit Tankbund or the places you wish to and can be back early morning. There’s no one to supervise. Therefore, you can opt for the University of Hyderabad without thinking twice.

University of Hyderabad doesn’t reveal cutoff marks. You need to score more than 605 in your 10+2 to appear for the entrance examination. UoH shortlists students for the interview round based on their entrance examination results. However, the details regarding the cutoff aren’t revealed. You will have a lot of fun, ups, and downs, and learn a lot. A day at HCU begins at 6:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 a.m. The hostel life at Hyderabad is quite similar to any government institute. You can enjoy more freedom and infrastructure when compared to private institutions.
