₹ 15,000I chose Geography Honours, along with History and Political Science, because of my interest in humanities. The strength of my class is around 60-70, faculties are highly qualified and teach well. I've no idea about the term exams and the difficulty level, cuz I'm in the first year only. However, as per the level of PYQs, the difficulty level is easy to moderate, with rarely any hard questions in the paper.
Read Full ReviewI have chosen geography honours because it is based on conceptual units. The faculty of my course is very good and highly qualified, all of them have completed their PhD from top central universities like DU, and JNU. The student ratio is approx 1 faculty to 30 students each. Exams are held twice a year per semester wise before this sessional of each subject is taken.
Read Full ReviewI chose this course as it was my domain of interest. The faculty-student ratio is very poor. Almost 150 students are there in one section. However, the faculty are well qualified. They teach well Our session is presently running late. However, it will make up the time. The exams are not that much tough to pass. All questions are from the previous year
Read Full ReviewI chose Economics Hons because BHU provides you with a top-notch facility for studying economics. The Faculty of Economics is one of the most popular and demanded amongst the students. The teachers are world-class qualified professors. Exams are easy to pass and are held semester-wise.

Read Full ReviewStatistics is one of the most demanding subjects this time, and after doing a master's in statistics one can find better opportunities college provides placement in reputed companies with an average package of 7 lpa and the highest up to 18 lpa and there are also opportunities in public sectors The faculty-student ratio is 1:10 which is good if we talk about per semester as there are 20 proffers in the statistics department I am talking about per semester. As BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY is one of the known central universities in India it is known for its academics all the faculties here are well qualified, they have well-known research papers in various journals, they got various projects by the Central government based on a sample survey. Their teaching method is very good new professors' educational backgrounds are awsome. There is one mid sem that occurs within 3 months from the start of the semester and one end sem at the end of the semester. it is not a cup of cake to pass this exam. it is difficult to pass it
Read Full ReviewFirstly, the hostel fees at BHU vary from course to course. So all I can do is give you a rough estimate through the information I got from my sister who pursued B.Sc from BHU.
Hostel Fees
Mess Charges:
Usually, there are 2 diets a day and on Sundays, there is only one diet. But the Sunday meal is special so it is counted as a double diet. So the approximate price stands at INR 80-100 per day.
If you skip the meal or go home then you can tell Mess Maharaj and you won’t be charged.
BHU cutoff for the BSc Maths group is around 224 (general category). Here is the cutoff for 2020-21.
Category | FMC | MMV |
General | 224 | 203 |
OBC | 207 | 194 |
SC | 127 | 112 |
ST | 82 | 78 |
EWS | 209 | 189 |
PC | 22 | 12 |
EMP | 6 | 8 |
Try to score above 200, to get a shortlist. Naturally, the cutoff varies each year.
To say, one of these is better than the other will be an oversimplification. You should choose BHU or DU based on the course you are interested in. Here is a streamwise comparison of DU and BHU.
Arts - For English and Economics, DU is better. BHU courses are better for Sanskrit, Hindi, Geography, and Philosophy. For the rest of these subjects, these institutes are at a similar level.
Science - BHU is slightly ahead for most of the science stream.
Commerce - For commerce courses, DU is definitely better.
Engineering - It won’t be fair to compare IIT BHU with DU. The former is way ahead of the latter.
Management - FMS is a tier 1 B-School and arguably the best non-IIM school in the country. IMS BHU ranks nowhere near FMS.
Law - For law degrees, DU has a slight advantage because of its location.
Medical - IMS BHU is one of the best medical institutes in the country.
Academics are more or less the same at BHU and DU. However, big names like St. Stephens, SRCC, LSR, etc. are a little ahead of BHU in terms of teaching quality. BHU offers better research facilities, especially for science courses. DU is way ahead of BHU in terms of corporate jobs and civil services.
BHU offers a better campus experience compared to DU. But if we talk about location, choosing a metropolitan city, that too Delhi will be more advantageous. You will have greater exposure and opportunities.
If you are getting into one of the top colleges at DU. You should go for it. If you are getting an average college, it’s still better to prefer DU for Commerce, Economics and English. BHU science faculty is good. If you are interested in a Science degree, you can choose BHU.
BHU offers an enviable hostel life. The hostels are within walking distance from class, library, hospital, playground, gym, and pool. There are 24*7 WiFi facilities available on campus. BHU hostel fees are nominal. Students are required to pay around INR 4500 per year.
Many events and festivals are celebrated in the hostel. What makes the BHU hostel experience more special is the people. You will get to share your experience with people from different social backgrounds. Memories of arranging events together, the adrenaline rush of the night before examination, 2 am walks on the campus, you will get to make many such unforgettable memories.
BHU offers a vibrant campus life. Many cultural events and extra-curricular activities take place around the academic year. You will hardly find a day without any such activities happening on campus.
The campus is huge and lush green. BHU offers excellent facilities to students such as the university library, many cafeterias, various clubs, etc. Food offered at the mess is average. IIT offers better food in comparison. Bus services are available for students. Having a personal bi-cycle, scooter, or bike will be helpful, in commuting.
The academics offered by BHU are good and the professors are helpful. The examinations are easy in general but you will have to put in extra effort, to secure good placements.
Yes, BHU is a good option for an MBA. It maintains a good placement record every year. IMS BHU placement highlights for recent years show a highest CTC of INR 18 LPA. The average package for MBA stays around INR 8.4 LPA. Many MNCs like L&T, SBI, IBM visit the campus placement.
One other reason for joining BHU MBA is the highly skilled faculties. The faculties of the institute are highly revered in the academic circle. Most of the faculty members have over 10 years of experience.
If you are looking for a decent MBA course and want to take home a good job offer at the end of the degree, IMS BHU is a good option.

They have provided the students with the option of applying for the BHU UET counselling both in online and offline mode.
The syllabus of B.Sc. Agriculture at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) comprises of the following:
Preparation Tips:
The exam is around 2 hours so the paper is not difficult or lengthy. Negative marking is there so make sure the answers are accurate. Your basic knowledge acquired by revising and practicing mental ability questions will be determined.
Banaras Hindu University is a prestigious agricultural sciences institution. The institute has made numerous contributions to Indian agriculture and has numerous scientific accomplishments. Agriculture is a vast area in India, and there is a need for major breakthroughs to increase crop production, not just rice and wheat production, and food security.
After graduating from this institution, you will have many opportunities to pursue your interests.
ICAR-JRF - If you want to pursue further education, you can take the JRF exam in the subject of your choice. IARI is a dream institution, and only the best students are admitted. Every year, many BHU students attend IARI for M.Sc Ag in various fields and other agricultural universities.
BHU Postgraduate BHU students are given reserved seating. Admission to BHU M.Sc Ag is no longer easy. Internal quota seats are available to BHU students.
MBA Master's in Business is another route that students can take. There is a good environment for MBA preparation here, and many students get into prestigious institutes like IIM-Ahmadabad, IRMA, TISS, NIBM NAARM, and many more.
BANKING Every year, IBPS invites applications for Agriculture officers. In recent years, there has been a trend in BHU to prepare for IBPS exams, with approximately half of a batch going into the banking sector. Many students also study for the FCI, NABARD, and State PCS (for District Agriculture Officer) exams.
PLACEMENT Many private firms, dairy companies, private banks, non-governmental organizations, and seed and fertilizer industries offer graduates lucrative packages. Students who are looking for jobs right after graduation usually apply for them.
MS, approximately 3-4 students apply for MS each year. The institute has a large alumni network of students who are studying at universities in the United States and Australia, and they are used to motivate and guide students interested in pursuing postgraduate studies at any foreign institution.
As a result, not only does the Institute of Agricultural Sciences BHU provide a better scope, but it also provides a better alumni network and environment for overall development. The institute is the most sought-after institute at BHU. Studying agriculture here is a life-changing experience.
Here are some preparation tips for BHU B.Com entrance examination.
It’s not possible to estimate how many questions you need to answer correctly or how many marks you will need to get a shortlist. BHU cutoff depends on the competition of that year.
