For the IIT Hyderabad BTech program admission, the candidate must qualify the JEE Main exam followed by JEE Advanced exam to secure a seat in BTech or BTech + MTech courses. The candidates who qualify for the national level exam are then called for JoSSA counseling for the final allocation of seats in the preferred college.

Admission to the B.Tech program is through IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) which is a common admission test for candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech program.

Candidates seeking admission to the IIT Hyderabad BDes program must qualify for the UCEED 2023 program. Candidates with a valid UCEED exam score are required to appear for the DAT exam conducted by the IIT Hyderabad itself. The qualifying candidates are further called for the PI round for the final selection.

IIT Hyderabad M.Des Admissions 2023

Admission to IITH MDes program is based on a CEED exam score. The institute shortlists candidates for the PI round based on the CEED exam score. The final list of the selected students is prepared on the basis of the CEED exam score + PI round marks.

IIT Hyderabad M.Des Eligibility Criteria:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Architecture / Design/ Interior Design or equivalent (4 years duration after 10+2).
Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent of 4 years duration after 10+2).
B.F.A. (4-year professional program, after 10+2).
G.D. Art (5-year program after 10th) with one-year post-qualification, professional experience Masters degree in Arts / Science / Computer Applications (2-year program after 10+2+3).
The candidate should have at least 55% marks in the qualifying examination.

IIT Hyderabad M.Des Selection Criteria:

For admission to M.Des Program offered by IIT Hyderabad, candidates are required to appear for the CEED exam.
The candidate will be shortlisted for Design Aptitude Test (DAT) based on the CEED score. Based on the DAT scores, the candidates are screened and shortlisted candidates will have to appear for a Personal Interview.
The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in Design Aptitude Test (DAT), Personal Interview, Academic Performance, and Design Portfolio.

The eligibility criteria for a 3-year MTech at IIT Hyderabad is as follows:

Candidates with no work experience are required to have a valid GATE score.
- B.Tech../ B.E. degree in any engineering discipline or an MSc/ MS/ MCA degree in CS/ IT/ Maths An excellent academic record.
- Candidates having professional qualifications recognized by AICTE, like AMIE, are also eligible to apply.
- The candidate should have demonstrated an adequate background in computer science (Valid GATE score in CS/ IT).
Candidates with 6 months of work experience are exempted from the GATE exam score.
- A 4-year B.Tech./B.E. degree in any engineering discipline or an MSc/MS/MCA degree in ECE/Statistics/CS/IT/Maths, and have an excellent academic record. Candidates having professional qualifications recognized by AICTE, like AMIE, are also eligible to apply, AND

The eligibility criteria for an Executive MTech at IIT Hyderabad is as follows:

The candidate must have a minimum work experience of 2 years in the industry and be employed at the time of applying.
The candidate must have a BTech/ BE/ AMIE degree in CS/ EE/ IT/ ECE, or a MCA, a MSc/ MS degree in CS/ IT/ Maths/ Stat, and have an excellent academic record.
For candidates from other branches, they must have passed the GATE exam in Computer Science with more than 80 percentile rank.

IIT Hyderabad MTech Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for the IIT Hyderabad MTech program is as follows:

Admission to the 2-year M.Tech is guided primarily by GATE score cut-offs and follow-up interviews, as required. The admission offers are made via COAP counseling (Common Offer Acceptance Portal). The department may conduct further rounds of written tests and interviews after COAP to fill any unfilled seats. The candidates are shortlisted for the COAP counseling based on their marks obtained in the GATE exam
Admission to a 3-year MTech program is based on an entrance exam followed by the interview round for the shortlisted candidates. The department of CSE uses various parameters including the GATE exam score to shortlist candidates for the entrance test and interview.

MTech in Data Science IIT Hyderabad

IIT Hyderabad offers MTech in Data Science (MDS) which is an extension to the Executive MTech in Data Science (EMDS) and is equivalent to the regular MTech degree. The course is majorly for the working executives, so the classes are usually held on weekends and or other timings suitable for working professionals.

The course is self-paced with 48 credits which could be taken over in 3-5 years of duration. Like EMDS, students undergo 24 credits of course work in the first 2 years, and in the third year, the candidates are required to undergo 2 Capstone projects of 12 credits each. Students who wish to skip the Capstone projects, he/ she may graduate with the Executive MTech in Data Science.

In other words, MTech with Capstone Project= MTech in Data Science Degree & MTech without Capstone Project= Executive MTech in Data Science.

IIT Hyderabad MTech in Data Science Eligibility

The candidate must exclusively be working in the industry. The other mandatory requirements are as follows:

BTech or BE degree in CSE/ EE/ IT/ ECE. OR MCA/ MSc/ MS/ ME/ MTech degree in CS/ IT.
70% marks or 7 CGPA in the qualifying exam.
The qualifying exams include BTech/BE in CS/EE/IT/ECE, or MCA, or MSc/MS/ME/M.Tech. in CS/IT).
The candidate must have 3 years of experience and must be employed at the time of application.
Candidates with BTech/ BE or MCA/ MSc/ ME/ MTech degree in other disciplines must have an outstanding academic record and programming work experience in the relevant industry.

IIT Hyderabad Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

For admission to Ph.D. Program at IIT Hyderabad, candidates have required to full fill the given eligibility criteria:

First-class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ ST) in Master’s Degree in Science/ Engineering / Technology Or M.Tech./ M.E./ M.S.(Engineering/ Technology) degree with first-class or equivalent in the respective or allied areas.

Ques. What is a 3-year M.Tech at IIT Hyderabad?

Ans. A 3-year M.Tech has exactly the same credit requirements as that of a 2-year M.Tech. In this, the students take a lesser number of credits per semester as compared to 2-year M.Tech while simultaneously working on a sponsored research Project.

The admission process is through the jee advanced exam, to write the Jee Advanced exam, one must qualify for the Jee Mains exam, as per my knowledge 2023 open category cutoff is around the 90 percentile for qualifying for the advanced exam. The details related to the main exam are found on the official website of NTA(National Testing Agency). The official information about Jee Advanced will be present on the official website (jeeadv). The application process for the exam is also smooth. It can be easily applied to their website. For these exams reservation option is also present, students who are OBC, SC, ST can avail their reservation benefits by just entering their respective caste in the application form of the exam. I am an OBC noncremylayer candidate, it helped me a bit in my college selection. The admission process in IITH is very smooth, they will send an email through which the candidate can enter his/her information, and then another mail will be sent with the student's roll number and their college mail.

I cleared jee mains with the cutoff percentile and was qualified to Jee advanced. I cleared jee advanced and came into IIT with my rank with OBC reservation plus girls quota. After the jee advanced results, the admission process went through JOSAA counselling which was online. I got engineering science at IIT Hyderabad till the last round and completed it by paying fees in online for the first semester. And finally came to IIT Hyderabad to start my graduation here.

NIRF has ranked IIT Hyderabad at 8 for Engineering. BITS Pilani has been ranked 30 by NIRF 2020. A BTech in CSE is one of the most demanded courses in the industry. IIT Hyderabad, BITS Pilani, and new IITs all provide the course with an edge. But some factors discussed below will help us to analyze whether to choose IIT Hyderabad, BITS Pilani, or new IITs.

IIT Hyderabad is one of the oldest colleges in India. It makes an incredibly competitive place, the level and quality of competition is much higher. The overall quality crowd is seen in III Hyderabad and BITS Pilani.
