OPGC recruitment through GATE 2020 –  Odisha Power Generation Corporation Ltd. which is a Public Sector Unit under the Government of the state of Odisha. It recruits professionals through the common entrance test of GATE 2020. The notification for OPGC recruitment through GATE will be released soon.

The candidates who are willing to apply for the OPGC recruitment should be from Electrical/Mechanical/Control and Instrumentation/Civil engineering branches. The last date to apply online for OPGC recruitment through GATE exam is January 28 (tentative). The application process of the recruitment drive is completely online.

Salary

The major salary trend usually seen in OPGC for the post of Executive Trainee ranges around Rs. 4.5 Lakhs per annum.

Basic Cutoff for Applying

The basic cut-off marks required to apply for the job vacancy is that the candidate must have score a minimum of 60% aggregate in full time degree program in Engineering from a recognized university or institution.

Eligibility

The candidates who are willing to apply for the job vacancy should be from either of these engineering branches:

1. Electrical – Electrical/ Electrical and Electronics/ Electrical, Instrumentation and Control/ Power System and High Voltage/ Power Electronics/ Power
2. Mechanical- Mechanical/ Production/ Production and Industrial Engineering/ Thermal/ Mechanical and Automation/ Power Engineering
3. Control and Instrumentation- Instrumentation/ Control and Instrumentation Engineering/ Electronics and Instrumentation/ Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.
4. Civil- Civil Engineering.

Application Process

The only mode of application to the vacancies is online, and the company entertains no ither mode of application by the candidate. Also, the candidates can apply for one position only. The steps to apply for the vacancies at OPGC are:

1. Apply online for the GATE 2020.
2. Once the GATE is taken by the candidate and the result is out, wait for the notification for the job openings at OPGC. Only GATE 2020 score shall be valid for applying for OPGC.
3. Go to the official Website of OPGC.
4. Fill the online application form on the OPGC website.

While filling the application form, the candidate must have all the necessary documents ready at hand. These documents include percentage of marks obtained at graduate level, degree certificate, date of birth, caste certificate, scanned copy of GATE admit card, scanned passport size photograph and scanned copy of signatures etc.

In addition to online application by the candidates, once selected, the candidates are also required to sign a Service Agreement Bond. According to this Bond, the selected candidates shall be required to execute a service agreement bond of Rs. 250,000 to serve the company for a minimum duration of three years starting from the date of recruitment.

Selection Process

The selection for the post of Executive Trainee is on the basis of GATE score only. A merit list shall be prepared by the organization and then the authorities shall upload a list of the selected candidates on the official website.

The selection takes place in two stages. These stages are:

First Stage

Filling the online application form in the month of January.

Second Stage

The candidate has to upload the GATE admit card, and mark sheet and also has to enter the marks in the required field. After this process, the candidate has to take a print out of the application form and send it to “Odisha Power Generation Corporation Limited, HR Department, Zone-A, 7th Floor, Fortune Towers, Chandrashekherpur, Bhubaneswar- 751024” via speed post or courier along with a copy of GATE admit card, mark sheet and SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD certificate. The envelope containing the Application Form should be clearly super scribed “Application for ET” and the name of the post for which the candidate is applying.
