NLC Recruitment through GATE 2020 – Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) is one of the many public companies hiring employees using GATE scores. The Application form for the NLC Recruitment through GATE 2020 will available from January 6 – 27, 2020 (tentative).

The basic grade pay that the trainee in NLC will get Rs. 20600 – Rs. 46500. There will be 3 years service bond with NLC for the candidates those who will be selected as Graduate Engineers Trainee.

GATE is national level exam conducted by IIM Madras. This year GATE 2020 is scheduled for February 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2020 in computer-based mode. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree to apply for the exam. The application process is done from September 1 to October 1, 2018. Candidates can download GATE Admit Card from January 03,  2020.

Job Profile

NLC looking to hire young, dynamic and result oriented individuals for the post of Graduate Executive Trainees in various disciplines are given a training for twelve months (that is extendable). On completion of the training period, candidates are posted in any unit under NLC or any of its subsidiary companies.

The trainees are acquainted with the company, its way of working, their duties and responsibilities and a comprehensive understanding of the post at different disciplines.

It is important to note that selected candidates for the post of the Graduate Executive Trainee will be required to sign a Service Agreement Bond for a value of 1,00,000 INR which entails that the selected candidate will be required to work for the organisation for a minimum period of three years post the completion of training.


Salary

The salary for the post ranges from 20,600 INR-46,500 INR (E-2 grade) with an increment of three percent. The candidates are offered a handsome annual package 8.6 lakhs INR CTC per annum.

During the training period the Graduate Executive Trainees are paid Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance (presently 107.9 % of basic pay) and Common Allowance (40% of basic pay) per month. In addition to the above, they are paid Performance Related Pay annually and entitled for superannuation benefit (30% of basic pay plus Dearness Allowance), free Medical treatment for self and dependents.

Employees when posted are also provided unfurnished residential accommodation at nominal rent at their place of posting.

Eligibility

Only Indian nationals with qualifications acquired from Indian Universities/Institutes duly recognised by UGC/AICTE (wherever required) are eligible to apply.

The academic eligibility requirements has been described below for the different disciplines

Along with the B.Tech degree, the candidate should also minimum percentage of sixty for the General and OBC categories and fifty for the SC and ST categories. For PWD candidates, the minimum percentage required is also fifty.

Eligible candidates are also required to have qualifying GATE marks on the GATE score card (as desired by NLC).

Moreover, final year students can also apply, provided they meet the academic eligibility criteria set by the organisation. In case of selection, the candidates then will be required to submit their final mark sheet/ provisional certificate on or before 31st August 2020.

The eligibility in terms of the upper age limit has bee described below. Candidates’ age as on 31st December 2015 should not exceed

  1. Thirty years for general category candidates
  2. Thirty-three years for OBC category candidates
  3. Thirty-five years for SC/ST category candidates

For Ex-Servicemen and OWD candidates, the criterion is set as per the Government of India rules.

Application Fee

Candidates are required to remit the prescribed fee online through Debit/Credit card/Netbanking. Candidates belonging to reserved categories and PWD Ex-Servicemen are not required to pay any Application fee.

Application Process

  1. With the GATE 2020 registration number, candidates can apply online through the official website of NLC for the post of Graduate Engineer Trainee. It is important to note that no other means of application is accepted.
  2. The candidates should very carefully enter all the details as asked in the application form and check it once it is filled.
  3. Candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of 300 INR.
  4. A recent passport size photograph and signature is also required to be uploaded in the form. This photograph and signature should be the same as uploaded in the GATE application form.
  5. After the successful online submission of the application form, a Registration-cum-Application form is generated.
  6. Candidates are advised to take out a print copy of the Registration-cum-Application form and the payment receipt for future reference and in case the candidate is called for interview.

Note: Given below is the list of documents required during the application process.

  • Proof of date of birth
  • Qualifying degree certificate and mark sheet
  • GATE score card
  • Caste/Category certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates)
  • Discharge certificate in case of Ex-Servicemen candidates
  • Disability Certificate, indicating the type of disability (in case of PWD)
  • Scanned photograph
  • Scanned signature
  • One set of self-attested photocopies of all the documents listed
  • Any other documents/details regarding the eligibility criteria.

The instructions regarding the uploading of scanned photograph and signature has been given below

For scanned photograph

  1. The photograph must be a recent colour passport size photograph with preferred dimensions of 200x230 pixels and the size of the image should not be more than 50kb.
  2. In case the size of the image is more than 50kb, the setting of the scanner such as resolution, number of colours can be adjusted during the process of scanning.
  3. Also caps, hats and dark glasses are not allowed and religious headwear though permitted should not cover the face.

For scanned signature

  1. The candidate has to sign on a white paper with a black ink pen with preferred dimensions of 140x60 pixels and the size of the image not more than 20kb.
  2. The signature is used for all necessary documents like the call letter and thus, should only be signed by the candidate and no one else.
  3. In case, the candidate’s signature at the time of selection does not match the signature on the call letter, the candidate shall be disqualified.

Selection Process

Candidates will be short listed for the selection process based on the marks scored by them in GATE exam, out of hundred for the further processes including group discussions and personal interview.

The list of candidates shortlisted for selection process will be published on the NLC website (www.nlcindia.com) and intimation will be sent to the shortlisted candidates through email.

It is important to note that candidates who have been called for personal interview must bring all their original certificates along with one set of self-attested photocopies of the same for document verification.

Final list of students selected is declared after this.


Result List

Result is declared after the group discussion and the personal interviews of the shortlisted candidates have been conducted.

The result once declared, is updated and can be checked upon the official website of NLC website (www.nlcindia.com).
