NFL Recruitment: Eligibility

Any candidate who wishes to apply for NFL Recruitment through GATE 2020 must satisfy the eligibility criteria for GATE as well the eligibility criteria set by NFL separately. The eligibility criteria set by NFL for selection of candidates as management trainee is given below:

1. An applicant who has appeared and qualified GATE 2020 must apply separately for NFL Recruitment.
2. Candidate must have passed Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology with not less than 60% marks (50% SC/ST)
3. The maximum age of the candidate must be 27 years as on January 01, 2020.

An applicant who has qualified GATE 2020, as per the following details are eligible:

Reservation in NFL Recruitment

• Reservation for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates and Persons with Disabilities will be as per the directions given by the government.
• An applicant should fill the category very carefully, as once filled in the application form it will not be changed.
• An applicant has to submit a valid certificate in the prescribed format of Government of India, issued by the competent authority.
• The OBC applicants who belong to the “Creamy Layer” are not allowed for special consideration allowable to OBC category (non-creamy layer) and such applicants have to specify their category as General.
• SC/ST/Departmental Candidates with at least 50% marks in the qualifying examination are eligible to apply.
• SC/ST/PWD and Departmental Candidates do not have to pay any kind of application fee during the online application process in NFL.

The upper age limit is relaxed by:

• 5 years for SC/ST candidates
• 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates
• 10 years for PWD-General candidates
• 13 years for PWD-OBC candidates
• 15 years for PWD-SC/ST candidates

General/OBC category applicants have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/-. The application fee has to be paid through online mode (debit card/credit card/net banking). NFL application fees once paid will not be refunded under any situation. Therefore, candidates are asked to verify their eligibility before paying the application fees.

A candidate has to apply online for the NFL recruitment process. The list of the documents that are required for the online application process is given below:

• Applicants, if selected for NFL Personal Interview, are essential to bring their original GATE 2020 Scorecard as received from the IIT, at the time of Interview.
• Applicants employed with Government Departments / PSUs / Autonomous Bodies have to generate NOC at the time of the Interview.
• If an applicant fails to submit these documents, then they will not be allowed to sit for Interview.

How to Apply for NFL Recruitment through GATE

Candidates have to fill an online application apart from the GATE Application form for NFL Recruitment through GATE. Follow the steps given below to fill and submit the application form for NFL Recruitment:

Step 1: Visit the official website and read all the important details properly.

Step 2: Apply online using GATE 2020 Registration Number or Roll Number

Step 3: A candidate is required to fill all the required details in the application form like Name of the applicant, Parent's or Guardian Name, Permanent Address, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, E-mail ID, etc. and upload all the necessary documents.

Step 4: Check if you have filled all the details correctly or not. Then, click on the Submit button.

NFL Selection Process

• The standardized scores of GATE 2020 and Personal Interview will form the foundation of merit list for NFL recruitment process. 
• The selection of candidates will be based on their GATE 2020 scores and performance in Personal Interview. Around 80% weightage (rounded off up to 02 decimal places) is given to the marks obtained in GATE 2020 and 20% weightage is given to the Personal Interview.
• An applicant should be in good health. Prior to joining an applicant has to undergo health-checkup. A candidate will not be given any kind of relaxation regarding health standards.

Service Bond

The chosen applicants will be required to carry out a service agreement bond of Rs. 80,000/- (Rs. 20,000/- for candidates belonging to SC, ST categories and PWDs) to serve the company for at least 3 years after completing the training successfully.

NFL Salary and Job Profile

NFL is hiring Management Trainees through GATE 2020 from Mechanical, Chemical, and Electrical streams. The pay scale of the selected professionals will range from Rs. 16,400-3% to Rs. 40500 at the basic pay of Rs. 16400/- during one-year training.

• After the training of the candidates is completed effectively, they will be regularized as Engineers / Officers on the pay scale of Rs. 16,400-3%-40500 at basic pay of Rs.16900/-.
• Apart from the basic salary, the candidates will be paid Dearness Allowance (DA) during the training period.
