Maharashtra M.Tech Admission 2020 - Admission to M.tech program in Maharashtra is done through the GATE score. The admission process is organized by DTE Maharashtra through centralized admission process (CAP). Candidates can fill the application form at the facilitation centers of DTE Maharashtra.

Maharashtra M.Tech Admission Dates

DTE Maharashtra has announced the admission dates of Maharashtra M.Tech 2020. Candidates can go through following table to know the important dates in the table below:

Maharashtra M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates willing to apply for the M.Tech course in Maharashtra must ensure the eligibility criteria. It is set by DTE Maharashtra for admissions. Check the following points as listed below:

  • Candidates must have B.E/ B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline from an AICTE approved university. They must have obtained at least 50% of marks in aggregate. SC/ ST/ OBC candidates are relaxed by 5% of marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates must have a valid Gate 2020 Score to apply for admission.
  • Candidate should be a citizen of India.

There are five categories of candidature for the applicants i.e. Type A, Type B, Type C, Type D, and Type E. They can check the following eligibility criteria as per the rules of government of Maharashtra.

Type A – Candidates must be passed 12th class or qualifying examination from any recognized institute in Maharashtra. Candidate who is either domicile of Maharashtra or is born in the state of Maharashtra.

Type B – Candidate does not belong to ‘Type A’ but their parents possess a domicile certificate.

Type C – Candidates whose parent is an employee of the government of India and who is posted in Maharashtra state.

Type D – Candidates not belonging to any of the above categories but their parents employed with the government of Maharashtra.

Type E – Candidates who have passed 12th class or their degree and holds a qualifying degree from a recognized university of Maharashtra.

Maharashtra M.Tech Application Form

Maharashtra M.Tech application form will be available on the official website from July 10, 2020 to July 22, 2020 (tentative). The facilitation center will also facilitate the candidate to fill the online application without any charges. Candidates seeking admission in the M.Tech programme can check the step-wise procedure to fill the application form as mentioned below:

  1. Visit the official website of DTE, Maharashtra i.e.dtemaharshtra.gov.in
  2. Candidates need to register themselves by providing their name, residential address etc.
  3. After successful registration, a unique Id will be generated on the computer screen.
  4. Login through application ID and password to complete the further application process.
  5. Fill up all the details such as personal, educational qualification details in the application form.
  6. Upload the scanned copy of photograph and signature in jpg/ jpeg format.
  7. Make the payment through debit/ credit card or net-banking. Take multiple copies of the fees receipt for its further usage.
  8. After the completion of registration process, candidate needs to submit the copy of application form along with the original documents at the facilitation center for the verification of documents.
  9. At last, the officer at facilitation center will issue a receipt cum acknowledgement of application form.

Application Fee

The application fee is INR 800 for general category candidates while it is INR 600 for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates. The NRI category candidates need to pay an amount of INR 5000 as an application fee.

Maharashtra M.Tech Merit List

Candidates submitted their application form before the last date of submission of application form for the admission through centralized admission process will be assigned a merit number. If the marks in the B.E/ B.Tech are modified due to verification and the same is duly certified by the concerned authority.

The same will be reported to the competent authority for admission through CAP immediately. The effect of such change will be taken into consideration only for the subsequent round of admission.


Maharashtra M.Tech Counselling Process

Candidates with a positive GATE Score are eligible to apply and will be considered for admission. After the completion of application formalities at the facilitation center. Check the complete details of the counselling process which are given below:

  1. Candidates will have to login through application ID and password.
  2. They must fill their choices of colleges and courses. After the selecting of options, they need to save the document and submit it.
  3. The counselling will be done through centralized admission process. CAP rounds (CAP round I, II, III and IV) will be conducted by computerized allotment.
  4. The allotment of seats will be based on options entered by the candidate, merit number and availability of seats.
  5. Applicants can login to check the seat allotment list at dtemaharashtra.gov.in. They must report at admission reporting centers to confirm their seats.
