GATE 2022 Cut off for IIT Madras is the minimum score required by the candidates to secure admission to M.Tech courses. GATE 2020 Cut off for IIT Madras for Computer Science & Engineering discipline was 811 for Gen/EWS, 721 for OBC, 542 for SC, and 457 for ST category. GATE 2020 cut off for IIT Madras was the highest for the Microelectronics & VLSI Design discipline, i.e., 876. For other disciplines of M.Tech, the average IIT Madras cut off 2020 was above 700 for the General category candidates. Check GATE Cut off
GATE 2022 will be conducted on Feb 5, 6, 12, and 13, 2022. M.Tech admission to IIT Madras will be granted on the basis of GATE 2022 scores and the choices provided in the application form. IIT graduates having a B.Tech degree with a CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10) or above can apply without GATE Scores. Based on past trends, IIT Madras M.Tech admission process is expected to begin in the third week of March 2022. Candidates not only need to register at the respective institute but also for GATE COAP Counselling.

Check Normalization of GATE Scores
Students must fulfill the required eligibility criteria to apply for M.Tech admissions at IIT Madras. Otherwise, their application will be rejected straightaway. The minimum eligibility criteria for GATE qualified students are as follows:

IIT Madras will announce the cut-off marks after the declaration of GATE 2022 results. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their merit scores and the choices selected by them in the application form. Candidates will have to attend subsequent rounds of the M.Tech admission process. For some courses, students will also need to appear for the Suitability Test and Interview. In this case, students will be offered admissions based on their performance in suitability tests, GATE scores, and interviews.
Admission to Foreign Nationals follows a similar procedure with General Category candidates.
Candidates must note that while preparing GATE 2022 cut off for IIT Madras, the authorities will consider various factors related to the entrance exam such as the difficulty level of the exam, previous year GATE cutoff trends. Hence, candidates must go through GATE cut offs for IIT Madras from this article.
Ques. For how many M. Tech programs can I apply at one time?
Ans. Candidates are allowed to apply for a maximum of 8 M. Tech courses per application form.
Ques. Can I pay the application fees through offline mode?
Ans. IIT Madras M. Tech admission application fees are accepted only through online mode using Debit/ Credit Card, UPI, or net banking. Hence, you cannot pay the application fees using offline means.
Ques. What is the application fee for the M. Tech course at IIT Madras?
Ans. The application fee for SC/ ST/ PWD/ Female candidates is INR 200, whereas for other candidates it is INR 400.
Ques. Is it necessary to have a GATE score for admission into IIT Madras?
Ans. Yes, GATE scores are mandatory while applying for M. Tech courses at IIT Madras. However, if you are a graduate from any IIT with a CGPA of 8.0 or above, you may apply without GATE scores as well.
Ques. What is HTTA? What is N-HTTA?
Ans. Financial assistance in the form of Half-Time Teaching Assistantship (HTTA) at the rate of INR 12400 per month (tenable for a maximum period of 24 months) is available for Indian nationals taking admission in M. Tech. programs. Students taking admission through HTTA category are required to assist the department for 8 hours of work per week related to academic activities of the department such as laboratory demonstration, tutorials, assessment of assignments, test papers, seminars, research projects, etc.
Some seats are also available without HTTA (N-HTTA, i.e., without any financial assistance) in some M. Tech. Programs. There is a provision for the candidates (Indian Nationals) who have joined M. Tech. Streams under N- HTTA category to convert to HTTA at the end of the first semester depending on the vacancies in HTTA category and on the basis of their performance in the first semester examinations.
