GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a much sought-after annual, post-graduate level entrance test conducted on a rotational basis by the IISc - Bangalore and the 7 IITs. The qualifiers of GATE 2020 are granted admission to M.Tech/ Ph.D. or are granted Government Scholarships/Assistantships in the fields of engineering and technology.
Latest: GATE 2020 will be conducted on February 1, 2, 8, and 9 in two sessions. The results will be released by March 16, 2020.
Most candidates aspire to either enroll for M.Tech at one of the IITs or grab a secure job at a Government enterprise or PSU(Public Sector undertaking). Check PSU Recruitment through GATE
Some start a career as a lecturer or a researcher by cracking the GATE exam. Normally the cut-off scores demanded at the prestigious institutes for enrolling in M.Tech ranges from 22.5 to 31.6, varying for institutes as well as disciplines. Check GATE Cutoffs
As the saying goes, if one gate does not open up for you, try opening other gates to explore further opportunities. The same stands true for you too in case your GATE paper did not go as planned and you are expecting a disappointing score.
A low score in GATE and the misfortune of not being able to meet the cut-off scores of either the IITs or the PSUs should not spell doom for your career. There are opportunities besides GATE that are just waiting for you to seek them out.
In this article, we check out a few other entrance tests that you could opt for to pursue higher studies in case the GATE 2020 actually does not open up for you.
