GATE 2020 ST Question Paper with Answer Key is available. The exam was conducted by IIT Delhi on 2nd February, 2020 in the Forenoon slot (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM). As reported by the candidates, the overall difficulty level of the question paper was moderate to tough. 85% of the weightage was related to the subject. GATE 2020 ST Paper Analysis

There were two kinds of questions that appeared in GATE 2020 ST i.e MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and NAT (Numerical Answer Type). The full marks of the GATE 2020 ST were 100. All the questions carried either 1 or 2 marks.

  • 40 MCQs and 25 NATs constituted the question paper of GATE 2020 ST
  • There were an equal number of questions in MCQ type questions
  • The contribution of NATs was nearly 40% in GATE 2020 ST, while MCQs contributed 60% in the question paper
  • 10 MCQs questions appeared from the General Aptitude section, carrying 15 marks
  • The remaining 55 questions were related to core statistics, carried 85 marks of the paper weightage

  • The exam was conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode. 3 hours were allotted to solve 65 questions
  • There was a negative marking pattern for every wrong attempt answer, 1/3 marks would be deducted for every MCQ carrying 1 mark. 2/3 marks would be deducted for every wrong MCQ carrying 2 marks
  • There were no deductions in the marks, if a wrong answer was attempted on the NAT question. However, there were no options in NAT questions, as candidates had to type the answer via a virtual keyboard appearing on their computer screen
  • The cutoff for the same goes up to 25, 22.5, and 16.7 for General, OBC and SC/ST respectively
