GATE 2013 Life Sciences (XL) Question paper with answer key PDFs is now available for download. The exam was conducted by IIT Bombay on January 20, 2013 in the afternoon session. Students have registered the difficulty level as moderate to difficult. A total of 65 questions were asked out of which 10 belonged to the section on General Aptitude and 55 questions were subject-specific.

The 55 questions of the core subject were divided into six different sections Chemistry (H), Biochemistry (I), Botany (J), Microbiology (K), Zoology (L), and Food Technology (M). Section H contains 15 questions of 25 marks which is compulsory to attempt and all other sections from I to M have 20 questions of a total of 30 marks, out of which any two sections are compulsory to attend.
