Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) invites online applications from graduate and postgraduates engineers through their official website i.e. rac.gov.in. 

• Candidates have to take a written descriptive exam followed by a Personal Interview as a part of the DRDO enrolment through GATE 2022 process.
• Candidates who will qualify for these stages will be recruited and get a salary of around Pay Matrix (Rs. 56,100/-) in specific disciplines and categories.

DRDO Recruitment through GATE 2022: Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must be an Indian National
• Aspirants must have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate numbers in the passing exam (Graduation). In a matter of CPI or CGPA, 6.75 will be considered equivalent to 60%, as per AICTE rules.
• An aspirant knowing French, Japanese, Chinese, German or Russian is appreciated, but not necessary.
• The maximum age of aspirants is 28 years as of August 31, 2022. Age lessening will be as per the rules of the government.
• Last year’s aspirants are also eligible to apply, only if they submit their final marks sheet by August 10, 2022.

The total number of vacancies is separated into 2 sections

• First Section: 223 (Depend on the GATE Score + Written exam + Interview)
• Second Section: 78 (Depend on the GATE Score + Interview)

DRDO Recruitment through GATE 2022: Selection Process

Academic Requirements

• First Section- Aspirants should have the compulsory scores with a valid GATE 2022/2021/2020 qualification or Aspirants should have the compulsory certificate from NITs/ IITs along with minimum aggregate 80% marks.
• Second Section- should have the accepted qualification along with valid GATE 2022/2021/2020 Qualification.

Fees process- Aspirants belonging to OBC/ General category will need to pay fees INR 100 online. PwD, SC/ST and women students are exempted from free fees payment.

For Subjects/Disciplines under Part-I :

• Category I: Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for a Descriptive Examination on the basis of valid GATE scores in the ratio of 1:25, subject to their GATE score not being below 25% of the GATE score of the first shortlisted candidate.
• Category II: All eligible IIT and NIT graduate engineers with a minimum of 80% aggregate marks in the EQ degree will be called for a Descriptive Examination.
• Candidates who appear for the Descriptive Examination will be further shortlisted for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:5 in order of merit list prepared on the basis of the Descriptive Examination only.

For Subjects/Disciplines under Part-II:

• Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for a Personal Interview on the basis of a valid GATE score in the ratio of 1:5 subject.

Final Selection

• The shortlisted candidates on the basis of the GATE scores and/or Descriptive Examination will be required to appear in the personal interview.
• The offer of appointment to the selected candidates will be restricted to the number of vacancies in order of merit. The appointment, however, will be subject to satisfying conditions like qualifying the Medical Examination prescribed for Group ‘A’ Technical posts of Govt. of India with Field Service liability and verification of character antecedents besides verification of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD(HH)/PwD(OH) certificate, etc wherever applicable.
• The final selection of the candidates will be purely on the basis of discipline wise category wise merit of aggregate of 80% weightage of marks in the Descriptive Examination and 20% weightage of marks in Personal Interview. 
• The final result (customized for the individual candidate) will be made available on the RAC website.

Details of Descriptive examination (Only for Part-I disciplines)

• Descriptive Examination is likely to be held in October 2022.
• The descriptive test will have two papers of 300 marks each, to be conducted in two sessions of the duration of three hours each.
• The syllabus of the examination available at the RAC website is similar to Engineering Services Examination (Main) in the relevant discipline.
• The examination will be conducted in a paper-based format.
• Descriptive Examination will be conducted at DRDO centres in seven cities Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, and Pune.
• Candidates are required to indicate their first and second preference of examination centre in the online application form among the listed centres.

DRDO Recruitment: How to Apply?

Step 1: Registration

The first step for candidates is to register online on the official website. It is necessary to log in before the closing date to finish the procedures required for the application.

Then, your login ID and Password will be created

Step 2: Fill Biodata

A student is accepted to fill all the accepted data in the application form like Name of the students, Parent’s Name, Permanent Address, Mobile Number, Date of birth, E-Mail ID etc.

Step 3: Upload Documents

Then the student is expected to upload the scanned copy of a passport size photo and all other accepted documents.

DRDO Recruitment: Job Profile and Compensation Package

A student will get a salary approximate of Rs 15600 – 39100 and Grade Pay Rs 5400. Total payments at the time of the selected candidate will be roughly Rs 60,000 per month; presently Delhi rate (7th central Pay Commission)

For all nominated Scientists “B” for DRDO it may be compulsory to go through post Induction Training in the beginning.
