BPCL Recruitment through GATE 2020 - BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited) will release the notification to select candidates for the post of Management trainees through GATE 2020. The graduate trainees applying for recruitment must have passed Mechanical and Chemical engineering with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in the course.  

Candidates will be shortlisted based on  GATE 2020 Cut off. After that, selected candidates will be called for Group Discussions and Personal Interviews rounds. Further selected candidates will be called in for a final selection which is based on Medical Fitness in Pre – Employment Medical Examination.

BPCL Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

In order to become eligible for the post, the candidate’s educational qualifications would include the following:

• B. /B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg) – Mechanical Engineering through AICTE/UGC approved Indian Universities / Institutes.
• B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engg) – Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology through AICTE/UGC approved Indian Universities / Institutes.
• B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engg) – Instrumentation Engineering / Instrumentation and Control Engineering / Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering/Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering through AICTE/UGC approved Indian Universities / Institutes.
• It is important that candidates should have passed the degree in the first attempt. Integrated Courses or courses with 5 years or more course duration would not be eligible for the position. Candidates in the final year of their engineering studies may also apply.

Note: Candidates with the specialisations in Automation / Production / Mechatronics / Manufacturing / Industrial / Electronics Engineering are not eligible to apply.

How to Register for BPCL Recruitment through GATE 2020?

Step 1: Visit the official website and fill in the details. While filling application form candidate must fill the following details:

Step 2: Candidate should have a scanned image of a recent passport-sized photograph. The Scanned image must be in JPG, PNG, JPEG format, and size should not exceed more than 50kb.

Step 3: After filling details, candidates must submit the form. An auto-generated unique application number will be sent to registered email id with the Completely filled application form in PDF format.

Step 4: Candidates have to take the print out of the application form and paste their passport-sized photo on the generated form. Candidates have to submit this form during an interview if they are selected.

BPCL Selection Process

Selection for the Post is done in three steps:

• First is, shortlisting of candidates based on GATE 2020 Scores in Mechanical, Chemical & Instrumentation Disciplines
• Selected candidates will be called for Group Discussions/ Alternate selection methodology and Personal Interviews
• Further selected candidates will be called in for a final selection which is based on Medical Fitness in Pre -Employment Medical Examination.
• Candidates would have to qualify through each stage of the selection process successfully before being considered for final selection. It is based on medical fitness in the pre-employment medical examination.

Reservation for BPCL Recruitment

For reservation, the following categories are included:

• General Candidates, SC/ ST, OBC (Noncreamy layer), PWDs with a degree of disability 40% or above
• Candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir between 1.1.1980 and 31.12.1989

BPCL Recruitment Job Profile

• The Candidates are selected for the post of ‘Management Trainee’. The post would be normally on Probation for one year (Extendable in case of non-satisfactory performance) and on successful completion of the probationary period, would be confirmed as ‘Executive’ in the respective business unit/entity.
• Candidates can be posted across the country, in any of the businesses/locations or offices including joint ventures & subsidiary companies of BPCL currently in existence and establishments that may be set up in future besides roles on deputation to other organizations.
• The work of Management Trainee entails Operations (working in shift duties at various operating locations/installations/depots) and Sales in the Marketing function and in the Process & Engineering roles in the Refineries.

BPCL Remuneration

• Candidates selected as “Management Trainee” would be normally placed in Job Group “A”, with a basic salary of Rs. 24,900/- (Scale of Pay Rs. 24,900 – Rs. 50,500).
• In addition, Dearness Allowance (DA) based on IDA pattern is payable. House Rent Assistance, if applicable will vary based on the class of city of posting. The total emoluments at the entry-level for Management Trainees are presently Rs. 11 Lakhs per annum (approx. cost to company).
• This includes 50% of Basic Pay as Perks & Allowances, Performance Related Pay & 30% of Basic plus DA as superannuation benefits (Provident Fund, Gratuity & New Pension Scheme).
• Perquisites of BPCL include housing/vehicle loan facilities, medical reimbursement for self/dependant family members, LFA, Holiday home facility, Group Savings Linked Insurance Scheme, etc.

General Instructions to be Keep in Mind

Before applying for the course, candidates must follow the general instructions given below:

• Candidates must have an active e-mail id, which must remain valid for at least the next year. All future communication with the candidates will take place through e-mail only.
• Candidates should have relevant documents like percentage of marks obtained in the degree examination, degree certificate, date of birth, caste/disability certificate (if applicable), e-mail id etc. readily available with them before they commence the GATE Registration. This information would be required at the time of filling-in the ONLINE application.
• PSUs must submit 'No Objection Certificate' of their employer at the time of GD / PI failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the selection process.
• Candidates belonging to OBC category but belonging to creamy layer would not be entitled to the benefit of reservation and should apply as General Category candidates.
