NEET is a national eligibility entrance test conducted for students seeking admission in MBBS and BDS courses. The exam was successfully conducted on May 5, 2019 in offline mode. NEET Result will be declared on June 5, 2019 at the official website i.e. ntaneet.ac.in.

Candidates who will successfully clear NEET 2019 will be eligible to take admission in the topmost medical desired institute. Candidates can also avail scholarship before taking admission in any medical college or institute. Following are some of the scholarships that NEET aspirants can avail:

Scholarships by Manipal Academy of Higher Education

Manipal University provides two types of scholarships to NEET scholars i.e. Free- Ship and Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

Free-Ship

  • Candidates who secure AIR within 2,000 in NEET 2019 are eligible for the Free-Ship Scholarship in Kasturba Medical College at Manipal and Mangalore for MBBS.
  • Candidates who secure AIR within 7,000 in NEET 2019 are eligible for the Free Ship scholarship in Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS) at Manipal and Mangalore for BDS

Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship

  • Free-ship and merit-cum-means scholarships seats are limited to 5% of the general category intake and cover the only course fee.
  • Candidates have to pay the difference of the first year course fee and the scholarship amount.
  • The scholarship does not cover expenses such as hostel accommodation, books, etc.
  • The amount of free-ship & merit-cum-means scholarship for subsequent years will be the same as given at the time of admission in the first year.
  • For subsequent years, the scholarship will be based on the student’s academic performance in the university exam as per the university rules-
  1. Minimum 65% marks (in aggregate) in a system of awarding marks
  2. Minimum CGPA of 3 in a 4 point grading system
  3. Minimum CGPA of 8 in a 10 point grading system

API MBBS Scholarship

Association of Physicians of India, Bangalore offers a scholarship to MBBS students every year. The scholarship is based on the NEET score of the students and is applicable only if they join certain institutes.>

Scholarship Details

  • 10 scholarship will be given to male candidates. 
  • 10 scholarships will be given to female candidates
  • 2 scholarships will be given to children of API-KC Life Members

Eligibility

  • Candidate must be a native to Karnataka. 
  • He/she should be studying in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences or autonomous/deemed universities recognized by MCI and are accredited by National Board of Exams in Karnataka state. 
  • He/she should have been selected through NEET(UG). 
  • Parent’s income of the candidate should be less than INR 3, 60,000 per annum. 
  • Scholarship will be provided till the completion of the MBBS program. 
  • In case of a tie, the candidate from the rural background will be preferred.

Important Dates

  • Call for applications will be sent by August 31 every year.
  • Last date for receipt of application in API office for MBBS Scholarship is October 31 every year.

Indian Oil Educational Scholarship Scheme

200 scholarships are offered to the students pursuing MBBS every year. The scholarship is distributed zone-wise viz. North, South, East, and West depending upon the number of students who appeared for 12th Standard examination in that year. It is a trust-based scholarship given by Indian Oil Corporation every year.

Eligibility

Education-

  • Candidates must score more than 65% in 12th standard.
  • Candidates must be a regular student in a related stream in schools/ colleges/ institutes and are planning for MBBS 4-year duration course.

Income-

  • Gross Joint annual income of the family of the student from all sources during the final year should not exceed INR 1,00,000/-
  • In case of a tie, preference would be given to students whose family earning is more than INR 60,000/-

Age Limit-

  • The candidate should be between 15 and 30 years of age.
  • Relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC candidates, 5 years to SC/ST candidates and 10 years to PwD candidates

Document Submission

All the applicants should submit the necessary documents along with a print out of the Registered Online Application Form duly signed for scrutiny/verification. If misinformation is provided in the application by an applicant, he/she will be summarily rejected and no correspondence shall be made/entertained in this regard.

Bonus Prize

Candidates qualifying in the merit list of the particular course (Top 3 in graduate/post-graduate) will get a lump sum Bonus Prize of Rs. 10,000/-.
