Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Guwahati is a premier institution of medical education in the state of Assam. The college has got affiliation from Gauhati University. The course structure for MBBS is as per the guidelines of MCI and admissions are made on the successful clearance of NEET.

Gauhati Medical College Admission Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or Overseas Citizen of India.
• Age Limit: Candidate must be of minimum 17 years of age at the time of admission on or before December 31 of the year his/her admission is done in first year. The upper age limit for admission seekers under All India Quota is 25 years. Candidates under SC/ST/OBC category are offered a relaxation for a period of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
• Essential Academic Qualification: Candidates passing the HSC or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects with English as a core subject securing a minimum of 50%. For reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) candidates, there is a relaxation of 10%. Physically handicapped candidates have to secure a minimum of 45%. Aspirants who have appeared in 10+2 examination in 2021 may also appear provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later on.

If two or more candidates have equal score in NEET, preference will be given to

• Candidate having higher marks in Biology in NEET
• Candidate having higher marks in Chemistry in NEET
• Candidate older in age.
