Assam NEET 2021 Counselling is expected to start in the month of December 2021. Directorate of Medical Education Assam (DME) has released Assam State NEET 2021 Merit List for MBBS and BDS courses on the official website.   • Assam NEET 2021 Counselling will be held in two rounds in an online mode. First of all, candidates will have to register on the official website of DME and complete the application forms. Check NEET 2021 Counselling
  • The state counselling will be held for 85% of state quota seats and admission in the Assam state medical colleges will be done based on a merit basis. Check NEET 2021 Seat Matrix

Assam NEET 2021 Counselling: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2021 are required to fulfil certain eligibility criteria. The eligibility mentioned is mandatory and candidates failing to meet any of the listed criteria will be removed from the process.

Nationality

  • Applicant should be a registered citizen of Assam.
  • Parent of the candidates must be living in Assam for not less than 20 years.
  • The above condition will not be applicable to son/daughter of officers of All India Services working in Assam.

Academic Qualification

  • Candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in 10+2 standard.
  • Applicant must have passed 10+2 with 60% aggregate marks and for the candidates belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC the minimum required marks are 50%.
  • The applicant must have studied from class 6 to 10 in the state of Assam.
  • The candidate must have appeared and qualified NEET 2021

Age

  • Candidate must not be above 24 years or below 17 years of age on December 31, 2021.
  • For SC/ST Candidates: The upper age limit mentioned above is relaxed by 3 years.

Assam NEET 2021 Counselling: Application Form

The application form of Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling will be available online mode on the official website. Below are the steps that applicants need to follow to fill the application form-

  • Go to dme.assam.gov.in.
  • Click on the “MBBS/BDS Counselling 2021” link. 
  • Read all the instructions and click on “Apply Now”. 
  • Provide details like personal, academic, address and others.
  • Also, the candidates need to upload the scanned image of their photograph and signature.
    • The size of the photograph should be between 35Kb to 20Kb
    • Size of signature should be between 30Kb to 15Kb.
    • The format of the signature and photograph should either be .jpeg or .jpg
  • Verify your details and proceed to “Submit”
  • After successfully submitting the online application form, candidates need to take a print out of the e-challan and deposit the requisite fee in any branch of State Bank of India.

Fees for Assam NEET Counselling Application Form

  • It is to be noted that the candidates will have to deposit INR 1240 (along with bank charges INR 60) an application fee on the second working day after the successful submission of the application form.
  • The applicant will receive a copy of the challan showing the transaction Id after the submission of fee.
  • Also, it is advised to the candidates to take the print out of the Assam MBBS/BDS 2021 Application Form.

Assam NEET 2021 Counselling: Important Instructions

DME Assam conducts Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling for registered candidates only. BEET Counselling is conducted in multiple rounds. At the end of each round, candidates are allotted seats as per their choices and position in the merit list. Here are some important points and guidelines regarding Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2021.

  1. Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2021 Counselling is organized in offline mode.
  2. Candidate participating in the counselling procedure need to fill the separate application form (form B).
  3. Candidates will have to pay INR 500 as the counselling fee.
  4. Candidates need to be present with all the necessary documents before the admission committee.
  5. As per the merit list and order of the preference, the seats are allocated to the candidate.

Documents Required in Assam NEET 2021 Counselling

Below are the documents required to be produced at the time of document verification.

  • The Candidates need to bring Form – B in the original duly and properly filled in along with all relevant annexure certificate attached with Form-’B’
  • NEET 2021 Rank card
  • NEET 2021 Admit Card
  • Class 10 Mark sheet and Certificate
  • Class 12 Mark sheet and Certificate
  • Recent passport-size photograph (4 copies)
  • Character Certificate from Head of the Institution last attended
  • Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) (to be issued by D.C./S.D.O. (Civil) of concerning District/Sub-Division)
  • Academic Gap Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)

Assam NEET 2021 Counselling: Reservation of Seats

Selection in Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2021 will be made under 5 categories namely OC, SC, ST (Plains), ST (Hills) and PH reservations following the rules of reservation of the Government of Assam as follows. Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to listed categories. The remaining 60% of the seats are open for unreserved applicants. Candidates claiming reservation under certain categories are required to present the original documentation supporting their claim.

All the participating institutes of Assam NEET Counselling have the same fee structure. Below is the fee structure of all the medical colleges of Assam. The registration fee for the candidates outside Assam is INR 15,000 and for the candidates belonging to Assam INR 5000. Other fee details are as follows:

Assam NEET Counselling 2021 FAQS

Ques: Who will conduct the Assam NEET counselling and release the NEET cut off for Assam?

Ans: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME) is the body responsible for releasing the Assam cut off and will conduct the Assam NEET counselling.

Ques: How many seats for MBBS and BDS will be offered via the Assam NEET 2021 counselling?

Ans: DME will allocate around 900 for MBBS and 40 for BDS via the Assam across the medical and dental colleges in Assam State.

Ques: What if I am not able to secure a seat for MBBS/BDS course during Assam NEET counselling?

Ans: The seat availability for MBBS & BDS is subjected to cut off and ranks. If in case one is not able to secure a seat in MBBS & BDS in Assam candidates can opt for other courses which come under the hood of NEET Assam such as BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BYMS, BSMS and Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences. 

Ques: How the seats during the Assam NEET counselling will be allotted?

Ans: The seats will be allotted by two means during the Assam NEET counselling. Both the ways will be dependent on the NEET score/percentile of the candidate. After that, the preference will be given according to the choice of colleges the candidate has selected during the Assam NEET counselling form filling process.

Ques: How can I check my eligibility for being qualified for my chosen medical college?

Ans: The College will release its merit list after the Assam NEET counselling application form has been filled and on the basis of the Institute’s cut off a merit list of the eligible candidates will be released online.
