This year, major changes took place in NEET. The available languages count up to 13. From 2021, students would be able to choose Malayalam and Punjabi languages too. This year NEET exam was conducted in 202 cities. NTA (National Testing Agency) conducted the exam on 12th September 2021. More than 1.6 million students filled the exam form. More than 95% of the total registered students took the exam. In 2021 NEET paper was divided into 4 sections. Each section carried an equal weightage of 25%. NTA, eliminated the Biology section and made two separate sections, namely Botany and Zoology. As reported by the candidates, the overall difficulty level of NEET 2021 O5 was rated easy to moderate.

The NEET question paper was a combination of 4 sections (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology). Each section carried 50 questions of 4 marks each. Each of the section was divided into two parts Part A and Part B. There were 35 questions in Part A, all the questions in Part A were of mandatory nature. Part B had 15 questions. Only 10 questions were mandatory to attempt. There were 5 additional questions in Part B of each section. Each section carried 200 marks that were distributed between 50 questions. Botany was one of the newly introduced sections in NEET 2021 Odia O5. The overall difficulty level of the was rated easy. There were more than 20 questions of moderate level in the Botany section. 50% of the total weightage was distributed between easy level questions in the Botany section.
