This year, a student from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, topped the NEET exam. He secured AIR 1 in NEET exam. NEET 2021 Odia M5 was successfully concluded on 12th September 2021. NTA (National Testing Agency) listed 200 questions in NEET 2021 Odia M5, which was 20 questions more as compared to last year. For the first time, the NEET exam was conducted in 13 languages. Punjabi and Malayalam language were the latest addition to the NEET exam. This year, NAT divided the Biology section and introduced two new independent sections. The NEET question paper was a combination of sections such as Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, and Botany. According to the test-takers, the overall difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate. Every section holds the same weightage in NEET 2021 Odia M5.

NEET 2021 Odia M5 Detailed Paper Analysis

Each section (Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany) comprises 5 questions. These 50 questions were further distributed into two parts (Part A and Part B). 35 questions were listed in Part A of each section, carrying 140 marks. Part B comprises 15 questions. Students were supposed to attempt any 10 questions out of the 15 questions.

  • All the questions were mandatory to attempt from Part A of each section
  • Part B followed a pattern of additional 5 questions, thus 10 questions must be attempted
  • Every question holds 4 marks. A total of 180 questions carried 720 marks
  • 1 mark would be reduced for every wrong MCQ or if a student had selected more than 1 answer in the MCQs
  • No marks would be reduced for unattempted questions
  • Students would be allotted 180 minutes to solve 180 questions

Odisha NEET Counseling

OJEE (Odisha Joint Entrance Examination) Cell took the charge for conducting the counseling procedure. The responsible authorities in Odisha would conduct MBBS counseling in two rounds. The first round would be conducted online, followed by an mop-up round if required. Students were required to login into their accounts and fill up the counseling form as per their course of choice, and colleges. The authorities will release the final list after considering all the important factors such as rank achieved in NEET 2021, cutoff, availability of seats, and category of candidates so that reservation could be provided to grant the final admission. The final merit list would only be published once the submitted documents have been verified. The final merit list will be released online.
