National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an entrance examination for admission to MBBS courses in various medical colleges all across the country. Earlier, different medical institutes like AIIMS and PGIMER used to conduct separate medical entrance tests for admission in their MBBS courses. But from the 2020-21 academic session, NEET was deemed as a centralized medical examination for candidates to get admission to undergraduate medical programmes, i.e. MBBS and BDS in India. It is expected that NEET 2021 will take place in May 2021.
NEET 2021 will be conducted in pen and paper mode throughout the country. Candidates will have to follow the exam pattern set by the NTA. The pattern will be divided into 3 main sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and will pose a total of 180 questions.
Applicants will have the liberty to take NEET 2021 in any of the 11 languages offered: Hindi, Tamil, English, Assamese, Oriya, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Urdu and Telugu. There will be a reservation criteria in place for individuals who come from the economically weaker sections, Scheduled Caste (SC) category, Scheduled Tribe (ST) category), Other Backward Caste (OBC) and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) category. Before applying for the examination, candidates must check the eligibility criteria set by the National Testing Agency (NTA), India. Only those candidates who will satisfy the eligibility criteria will be allowed to appear in the online examination. Below is the eligibility of the Examination. Students can apply for the NEET 2021 online examination by visiting the official website (ntaneet.nic.in). The registration for NEET 2020 will tentatively begin in the first week of November 2020. Candidates will be able to fill out the application form till the beginning of December 2020. The entire procedure will include entering personal details, academic details, choice of medium, and the candidate’s preferred test center. The next step will include uploading scanned documents and paying the requisite application fee.

The payment of fees can be made using SBI/Syndicate/HDFC/ICICI/Paytm Payment Gateway through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net-banking/UPI and proof of the transaction must be kept in hand for future reference. Check NEET Photosize and Signature Details
NTA will release the NEET 2021 Admit Card through online mode for candidates who have successfully registered for the entrance test. To download the admit card, eligible candidates need to submit their application number as well as their date of birth.
NEET 2021 admit card is likely to be available in the 1st week of April 2021. Candidates must showcase the admit card at the time of the examination along with an authorized ID proof, otherwise the candidate will not be able to give the examination.
The admit card will include the following information: roll number, name, father’s name, category and subcategory, photograph and signature, date of birth, language of question paper, exam center address, and reporting time and date.

According to government regulations, there needs to be a reservation for candidates who come from socially or economically restricted backgrounds. Although an official notice hasn’t been released by the NTA, the reservation criterion is expected to be the same as before.

A merit list will be released by the state based on the candidate’s All India Rank for NEET 2021. Under the state quota, 85% of the seats are filled through state counselling on the basis of the candidate’s domicile and eligibility. The All India Quota will secure a 15% reservation for applicants who will then be featured on the AIQ merit list.
NTA will disclose the list of NEET 2021 exam centers in the first week of December 2020. Candidates have to select the exam city and test center they wish to appear in during the application process.
Exam centers will be allotted according to the choice of language made by the candidate in their application form. Applicants must choose one out of the 10 languages provided in the official brochure.

NEET 2021 will be conducted in a paper based mode for all prospective candidates. Candidates will have to answer all the questions on a omr sheet with a black or blue ballpoint pen, so there will be very little room for error. The questions will be formulated in an MCQ format and candidates will have 3 hours to answer 180 questions. There will be 45 questions posed from Physics, and Chemistry. There will be a total of 90 questions from Biology, 45 from Botany and Zoology each. For NEET 2021, candidates will be given +4 marks for each correct answer, and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Students can utilize practice papers to get acquainted with the exam pattern and syllabus. It will also benefit them in gaining speed & precision required to score well in NEET 2021. In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS and BDS programs offered by the institutes, candidates must score requisite cut off. The cut off is released after every round of seat allotment. For determining NEET Cut- off, certain parameters are considered such as the total number of seats available, the number of candidates that appeared in NEET, number of medical seats and the level of difficulty of the exam.

The cut- off for SC/ST/OBC category (40th percentile) is 133- 107 and for unreserved PwD candidates (45th percentile) it was announced as 133- 120 in 2017. It has increased to 360 in the Unreserved and 288 in the OBC, SC and ST in 2019.
After qualifying NEET 2021, aspirants will have to attend counselling process for final admission in the course they desire. Candidates can check NEET Counselling 2021 details below:
NEET 2021 Counselling process will be initiated by the Medical Counselling Committee, who will simultaneously deal with the 15% seats awarded under the All India Quota (AIQ) category.
NEET 2021 counselling process is tentatively scheduled to be released in June 2021, after the release of the result.
Candidates must pay the counselling fee during the fee payment facility period. Seats will be allocated individually.
Applicants will have to carry the following documents during the counselling process: NEET 2021 Admit Card, NEET 2021 Result/Rank Letter, Class X and XII Certificate and Marksheet, 8 passport size photographs, NEET 2021 Seat Allotment Letter, Identity Proof, Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable).
NEET 2021 answer key will be released by the conducting authority after a few days of the examination. Candidates can check the answer key for each set of questions from the official site. Candidates can download the answer key by entering their application numbers and password on ntaneet.nic.in.
The answer key of the examination will be available on the official website tentatively around the first week of NEET 2021. Alongside the NEET 2021 answer key, candidates will also receive their test booklet codes and omr response sheets.
The answer keys will be helpful to cross-check answers. Candidates can make a rough idea about their score. After the provisional answer keys have been released, candidates can submit any objections to the NTA board. A charge of INR 1000 will be placed on every answer that a candidate decides to challenge. If the answer is accepted by the board, the NTA will refund the entire amount.

NTA will tentatively be released in the first week of June 2021. Applicants will be able to download their result by entering their Date of Birth, Roll Number, and security pin. The NEET 2021 scorecard will depict the candidate’s overall marks, sectional marks, percentile as well as their AIR Rank as per their category and quota.
Applicants will be able to apply for admission to more than 76,000 medical, 27,0000 dental, 52,000 AYUSH, 1205 AIIMS and 200 JIPMER seats. Applicants will be able to apply for BHMS, BDS, MBBS, BAMS, BSMS, BNYS and AH courses.
The result will be released in online mode only and there will be no postal service available for NEET 2021 result. It will be valid for one year only, therefore the scores can only be utilized for the 2021-22 session. There are also more than 400 foreign medical colleges that accept NEET results.
In cases where two applicants end up obtaining the same marks, a tie breaking criteria is utilized for the selection of inter-state merit or AIR (All India Rank). Primarily, candidates who score higher in Biology will be given preference in NEET 2021. If that does not apply, candidates who score higher in Chemistry will be given preference. If that does not apply, candidates who have a lesser number of incorrect answers or are older in age will be given weightage.
