While creating the table for NEET marks v/s rank following factors are considered:

  • The upper and lower limits have not been taken into consideration while preparing the rank range.
  • Plenty of candidates score same marks and so starting rank for a particular marks range has not been considered in continuation.
  • As a general trend, it has been observed that the number of test takers scoring rank above 600 is much less as compared to the marks obtained below the range.
  • The highest score obtained in NEET 2019 was 685 out of 720.

NEET Cut off Percentile

Based on the previous year trend, minimum cut off percentile is defined separately for each of the categories, as the reservation factor on the basis of previous year’s cutoff is taken into consideration.

Category Qualifying percentile
Unreserved 50th percentile
SC (Scheduled Cast)/ ST (Scheduled Tribe)/ OBC (Other Backward Classes) 40th percentile
Physically handicapped 45th percentile

Past Year’s Trend

It is compulsory for all the test takers of NEET 2019 to cross the percentile barrier defined for each category. Once the candidate has passed the percentile cut off announced by NTA, their name will appear in the final merit list. This would be followed by writing names in the order of merit.

The All India Quota has been defined for 15% seats which are applicable to all the states. There is a separate cut off list defined for each of the institutes in the private or government medical institutions through state- wise centralized counselling. The rules for NEET Counselling are different for each state and would be followed as per the directives of the state government.
