Nagaland NEET Counselling 2020, Dates, Registration, Merit List, and Selection Process

Nagaland NEET 2020 Counselling is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Kohima, Nagaland. Admissions into Nagaland MBBS courses are done based on the rankings of candidates in state-wise merit list. Along with the All India Quota merit list, separate state-wise merit list is also released for remaining 85% seats.

To initiate NEET Counselling procedure after declaration of results and merit lists, candidates must complete the offline counselling registration and pay the required counselling fees. This must then be followed by submitting documents for verification and online choice filling and locking. It is to be noted that an amount of Rs. 300 (cash only) is being charged as processing fee for NEET 2020 Nagaland Counselling.

Nagaland NEET Counselling 2020 Eligibility 

  • Candidates must check for their eligibility before applying.
  • Candidates must be above 17 years. No upper age limit is there. 
  • Candidates must have passed 12th State Board Examination (or Equivalent) or must have appeared for the exam that year.
  • Candidates must have studied Physics, Biology, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with 50% aggregate (40% in case of reserved candidates).
  • Candidates must have appeared for NEET 2020 and must have secured the minimum percentile (50 in case of unreserved, 40in case of reserved).

Nagaland NEET 2020 Counselling Process

Only those candidates who have successfully cleared NEET 2020 Cutoff are eligible to apply for NEET Counselling. The following steps constitute the counselling and admission procedure through NEET in Nagaland.

Online Registration

  • The first step is to visit the official website and complete the registration part.
  • Candidates need to submit personal and educational details along with information about NEET 2020 Score.
  • Candidates will be issued a username and password which they must use for further steps.

Document Verification

  • Candidates must then submit all the necessary documents along with the required number of photocopies to complete the verification procedure.

Online Choice Filling

  • Candidates must then fill up their choices of courses and institutes in the online portal. Candidates must carefully check if they are sure of their choices before locking their choice. Candidates can then take a print out of the filled in options form for future reference.
  • Next step is the seat allotment followed by the issue of allotment letter. Based on the choices filled in by candidates, their ranks in the state-wise merit list and seats reservation for categories, candidates are allotted seats. Aspirants need to visit the institute mentioned in the allotment letter along with the documents and the provisional allotment letter to complete the admission procedure.
  • If candidates are not satisfied with allotted seats, they can apply for second round of counselling. Even candidates who have not been allotted seats can apply for the next round of counselling. In the following rounds of counselling, seats are allotted based on availability.

Documents Required for Counselling 

The following documents are required at the time of reporting to the allotted institute for proper conduct of verification and other processes. It is advisable to carry a set of photocopies of the following documents.

  • Provisional allotment letter
  • NEET 2020 Admit Card
  • NEET 2020 Scorecard
  • Class 10th Mark Sheet (as proof of date of birth).
  • Class 12th Certificate.
  • Receipt of Counselling Fee.
  • Counselling Registration Form.
  • 8 Passport size photographs.
  • Government approved Photo Identity proof.
  • SC/ ST/ OBC certificate (if applicable).
  • PH (Physically Handicapped) Certificate issued by the medical authority (if applicable).

Ques. How many times can a candidate appear for NEET?

Answer. There is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET. 

Ques. Is NEET 2020 compulsory for admissions into the participating institutes offering MBBS/BDS courses in Nagaland?

Answer. For institutes that use the state-wise merit list released by NTA after the declaration of NEET 2020 results as a basis for admissions, it is compulsory for candidates to attempt NEET and secure the necessary minimum percentile in NEET.
