Campus Life:

The campus is small, with not too much space to roam around but still campus life is good. Annual fest is 8th mile but it won't happen annually, Esummit happens almost after every year which is also a good fest. Fests are conducted after every 2-3 months, small or big doesn't matter. Enough books are available in the library to make use of it. The classroom contains a smart board and is good for a student kind of environment. The sports culture is pretty good as uk Anil Kumble and lots of other sports personalities are from RVCE. Ecell, RAAG, Rotaract, coding club, Alap etc. are some of the clubs.

Hostel Facilities:

The wifi quality is very bad in our college. You won't get wifi accessibility all over our college. The mess food is South India oriented. It's a pure veg hostel mess. The hostel fees get changed every year. The college and the boy's hostel are present on the same campus

Campus Life:

Due to covid-19, no college fests have been organised yet. only e-summit occurred in 2022 organised by our college's E-Cell. The library is stocked with hard copies and soft copies of information. The classrooms have blackboards and whiteboards along with projectors.

The most annual fest is 8th Mile which happens around June. The best tech fest is conducted by the Aerospace department in association with AeSI called "Aeromania" which is a 3-day aero-technical fest in which students from colleges throughout Bangalore participate. The library is very huge and one can find almost any book needed easily with the smart search system. Classrooms are spacious with many benches, projectors, lighting, and fans. The encouragement of sports and extracurricular activities meets every student's expectations. Cricket, volleyball, baseball, basketball, badminton, tennis, archery, etc. Many cultural clubs (Rotaract, Raag, Aalap, footprints, etc) and technical clubs (Antariksh, Ashwa, Jatayu, Vyoma, Helios, etc) are always active.

Hostel Facilities:

the hostel provides good wifi and a good roommate if your lucky although the hostel facilities are not the best trust me its the best part of your college life you enjoy a lot more than college life, if you don't agree see youtube the food in the mess is OKAY and can be adjusted by people in Karnataka but for north India it's pathetic and don't miss the fest as its best and you'll get once a month the Registration Process is very simple but please book the hostel in advance as there are only limited seats the fees are not affordable as it 117000 and increase every year if you are not opting hostel then try renting a flat in BDA which costs less than a hostel and if you're renting with 5 or more friends

Campus Life:

the campus is the best in Banglore but not as good as top-tier college if you are interested in Social Life and Clubs, Bangalore is best but uses it good purpose or it may waste your time and time is money, my friend RVCE conducts the best fest in Bangalore called '8th mile' once in 2 years but they haven't conducted it in the last 3 years RVCE Ecell hosts E SUMMIT which is another biggest fest that they conduct every year there is a huge collection of books & journals in the library but nobody reads it all classrooms are well-ventilated, not air-conditioned, and neat the wifi depends on each branch and is very good in EIE there is a huge opportunity for those who are interested in sports & extra-curricular activities but unfortunately, there's only one ground left to play as all grounds are taken in the name of construction there are numerous social groups, and clubs run by students the best are ecell, ashwa racing, quiz corp, and block learning. please do join the club in the 1st yr

Ques

Is PES University No.1 or RVCE?

● Top Answer By Mahima Punia on 25 May 21

Ans
According to the NIRF 2020 rankings, RV College was ranked 70th in India. On the other hand, PES University was ranked at the 93rd position. Both of these colleges are having a good placement record.  The different categories based on which we can compare the two colleges are listed below: Placements:  PES University Placement drives offered 1185 job offers last year and placed 605 UG & 31 PG students in reputed companies. The highest CTC of INR 49.75 LPA was offered to one of the B.Tech students. The average salary comes out to be around INR 6 to 6.5 Lakhs per annum for both the UG and PG Students. The top recruiters that visit the campus include: Microsoft Cisco Accenture Oracle Adobe Wipro Honeywell Cognizant HP Flipkart IBM Nvidia For RVCE, the highest salary package offered last year was INR 49.75 Lakhs per annum as per the college’s website. 967 offers have been made in the year 2021 and 183 companies have visited the campus as of April 2021. The Companies that visit the campus almost every year include: PayPal Flipkart Infosys Intel Technology Intuit GENPACT Deltax Amazon Linkedin Deloitte Ericsson Adani Group Faculty: Both the colleges have excellent faculty, so there are no clear winners that can be declared based on this parameter. The Teachers are highly qualified in their respective fields. Syllabus: PES University has a more relevant syllabus than RVCE but the professors' methodology to teach at PES University is not satisfactory. RVCE has a modern syllabus for core branches, but it still lags compared to other top colleges in the country. Students: After considering and analyzing the CET cutoffs and enrollment data we can conclude that RVCE is the choice of the majority of the toppers.  Campus: RVCE has a larger campus as compared to PES University but the campus of PES University is better maintained.  RVCE College can be said to be No.1 but choosing PES University can not be considered a bad choice. You should try and consider other factors as well before making the final decision. You can choose either of the two colleges and can still make it big in life.

Ques

I have a choice between IT (Information Technology) in NIT, Surathkal and CS (computer science) in RVCE, Bangalore. Which one would be a better choice in terms of placements, Brand name etc.?

● Top Answer By Rima Sarkar on 22 Mar 21

Ans
Between the options, you should choose NIT Surathkal IT. Here are the reasons why.  The syllabus difference between IT and CSE is not so much in this institute. The placement process in the institute is exceptional, specifically for the circuit branches, including IT, CSE, ECE, and EEE. However, in the last year, students are recruited by Google and Microsoft. NITK has its own brand name. Maybe it is an NIT, but the students here get a lot of exposure. JEE Mains toppers mainly take admission in this institute every year. You will have to stay here in the hostel, which provides a good experience for them. During the tenure of the course, you will learn how to take care of yourself. Also, if your hometown is Bangalore, then you can frequently visit home.

Ques

Which is better to accept, ECE branch at RVCE/Bangalore or EE at NIT/ Surathkal?

● Top Answer By Vivek Sharma on 30 Mar 21

Ans
Considering different factors like placements, activities, infrastructure, Electrical and Electronics Engineering at NIT Surathkal will be a better option. The table below gives a brief level of comparison among ECE at RVCE and EE at NIT Surathkal. Particulars EE at NIT Surathkal ECE at RVCE Total Fees for the course Rs. 5.45 Lakhs Rs. 3.9 Lakhs Median Salary Offered Rs. 8 LPA Rs. 8 LPA Total number of seats 124 180 Cut-off Ranks JEE Main - 5890 DASA UG - 591 COMEDK UGET - 893 KCET - 271 Key Highlights - NIT Surathkal:  NIT Surathkal, being one of the top NITs, is a premier institute in India. In NITs, infrastructure and placements are always top-notch and even compared to IITs sometimes. The placement in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at NIT Surathkal is excellent. There are many core companies, IT-based companies, and even some PSUs coming for placement. The campus of NIT Surathkal has a serene environment, close to the shore, which is worth living for four years. In NITs, there is a lot of involvement in extracurricular activities and several technical and cultural events are organized inside the campus. Considering the above points, it is evident that EE at NIT Surathkal is the better choice.

Ques

Which should I choose: PESIT CS or RVCE CS? Will a VTU degree carry more weight than a new university, although it’s famous for coding culture?

● Top Answer By Sanjay Khanna on 29 Sept 21

Ans
Last year my brother had the same option between these two institutes. He opted for CSE at PESIT, owing to its brand existing credibility among Bangalore's leading tech firms. PES University has great industry-wide potential. When it comes to hiring outstanding talent, it is still the first choice for many of Bangalore's top companies. According to the recent placement highlights the median CTC offered at the institute is 6 LPA.  PES will also offer you excellent faculties, great research culture, and a good peer learning experience.

Ques

Which college is better: the RV College of Engineering or the MIT Manipal for civil engineering?

● Top Answer By Naveen Singhal on 29 Apr 21

Ans
I have friends from both RV College of Engineering and MIT Manipal, civil engineering holds the same value from either of them. It is because they both follow the same curriculum and guidelines laid by UGC and AICTE. However, both of them hold an edge over each other in their own way. Here’s why: MIT Manipal holds a bigger brand value as civil engineering was one of the branches it started and is known for. Other such branches include chemical and mechanical. If you are looking for better placements, RV College might be the right choice as it is located in Bangalore which clearly means more opportunities. Even if you are getting a computer science branch in MIT Manipal, go for it without a second thought. The table below shows a brief insight of both institutes: Particulars RV College of Engineering  MIT Manipal Highest Package 13 LPA 43.31 LPA Average Package 5.25 LPA 7.50 LPA Course Fees 14 Lakhs 16.26 Lakhs At the end of the day, your pool of interest matters the most. If you are getting your preferred branch, set the preferences that are more important to you. Are you looking for a great placement or great brand value? The choice is up to you.

Ques

Which college would give the best experience and exposure in architecture, RV College of Engineering (RVCE), BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE) or Manipal School of Architecture and Planning (MSAP)?

● Top Answer By Swapnil Dasgupta on 03 Feb 22

Ans
All three of these institutes have their own advantages. Here is a brief comparison of the three. BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE) is well-connected so is Manipal School of Architecture and Planning. The architecture department of RV College of Engineering is located in a secluded area. In terms of crowd, the preference order is RVCE>BMS=MSAP. The hostel facilities offered at all these institutes are decent. If you want decent academics and lots of real-life exposure then the best option among these three is Manipal School of Architecture and Planning.

Ques

Which one is better, Manipal Institute of Technology or the RV College of Engineering?

● Top Answer By Alka Gupta on 23 Jun 21

Ans
Many people would suggest RVCE over MIT mostly because of the quality of faculty members. The faculty for CSE at Manipal Institute of Technology is pretty bad. You have to do all the studying yourself. You can't rely on more than a couple of faculty members for projects. Hence, the institute is not good if you're looking to do a lot of projects. Since RV College of Engineering is in Bangalore, you are more in the loop and connected to the industry. If you choose to get into research, you have IISc and IIITB situated in the city. If you choose to get a job, there are tons of startups and companies recruiting freshers frequently throughout the year. If you look at both the colleges with non-academic perspectives, you can feel that RV College of Engineering still has an edge over Manipal Institute of Technology. If you like the feel of a small town, you might feel better in Manipal as Bangalore is a crowded city with a metropolitan outlook. The choice can be pretty tough while choosing between Manipal Institute of Technology and RV College of Engineering as both the colleges have an extremely good reputation among Indian Engineering colleges.

Ques

Should I opt for chemical in BITS Goa or EEE in RV College of Engineering?

● Top Answer By Simran Narula on 29 Apr 21

Ans
The dilemma of choosing an engineering branch is one of the most common situations for students who just cleared their 12th boards. Now coming to the question, there are two pieces of advice to be followed in this case. Firstly, it’s high time to sort out your preferences. You need to take time and decide where you are inclined towards. As both of them are totally opposites of each other, it is very crucial to follow your interest as you will be dedicating 4 years of your life. Most importantly, it will decide your career too. Secondly, if you are okay with any of these and the only thing that matters to you is the college name, then go for BITS Goa. There you can also enquire and opt for the dual degree option. Despite one extra year, it will prove worth it. Also, in other parameters like brand name, faculty, etc, BITS Goa outshines RV College any day. Overall, it's best recommended to follow your interest first as these will be career deciding years of your life, and you don’t wanna regret it later. After all, your hard work and passion are what determines your success.

Ques

Should one go for EIE at RV college of engineering?

● Top Answer By Satyam Singh on 29 Apr 21

Ans
The short answer is Yes. If EIE is your interest and you want to build your career here then there is no reason to stop. My brother is an alumnus from RV College of Engineering, and here’s why you must definitely go for it. If you are good at academics and really into your subject, you will get good placements.  For the 2019-20 batch, the department observed 84.09% placements. A total of 37 students got placed among 44 students.  The college has a good reputation and history hence, good companies visit there for placements.  Any branch will get you a good placement especially CSE and IT. No doubt it’s the same scenario in every institute. The table below shows the placement statistics of EIE at RVCE: Highest Salary INR 13 LPA Average Salary INR 6.25 LPA Minimum Salary INR 3.6 LPA Placement Percentage INR 84.09% All in all, if you give your 100% in any branch, you are most likely to get placed. Though the intake of EIE is quite low, all matters are your interest. In most cases, if you have a good rank in entrance exams then you can get EEE in BMSCE or MSRIT with the same rank. However, if your interest lies only in EIE, then don’t give it a second thought.
