Among these institutes, Hindu College is better. Only SRCC, Stephens, and LSR can be considered in the same league as Hindu. It has a good reputation among recruiters. The placement cell is active and invites many companies to the placement drive. According to the recent placement statistics, the average CTC offered to the students is INR 8.4 LPA.
Hansraj is also a decent option. National Social Service and other clubs are quite active. Miranda House is on the same level as Hansraj in terms of studies. It is more preferred among students since it is situated right next to the metro station.
One of my friends graduated with a B.A Economics (H) from Hansraj last year. So, I think I can answer your question.
Here are some of the best things about the institute.
You will not regret choosing the institute.
IPM is a complex and challenging course. It is an amalgamation of various subjects such as Maths, Economics, Sociology, etc. The workload will be immense. You will have to work hard to keep up with the coursework. But you will learn to look at things from multiple perspectives.
IPM at IIM Indore also has a good placement record. In the placement drive that was conducted in 2021 virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a placement percentage of 100% has been recorded. The average package offered to the students was INR 23.60 LPA which is higher than the package offered in 2020. In addition to these, the average package offered to the top 100 students was INR 33 LPA. The highest domestic salary offered was INR 41.50 LPA and the international salary was INR 56.80 LPA.
DU offers some leniency. You can miss a couple of classes and will be able to self-study. In the case of Hansraj College, the percentage of placement was 70% in their recent placement drive. The highest package recorded was 20.5 LPA and the average package was INR 5.7 LPA. The top companies were Boston Consulting Group, United Airlines, DE Shaw, etc.
If you want a more relaxed college experience, then go for Hansraj College. Otherwise, IPM will be better.
Almost every student aspires to study at the University of Delhi and Hansraj is a great college to attend. Everyone aspires to attend a college that has no uniforms, few classes, no hassles, and plenty of buddies with anyone you can hang around.
Hansraj has a touch of that liveliness. Here are a few of the things that make Hansraj such a unique choice.
I have plenty of friends from Hansraj and they had great experiences at the institute.
Hansraj College is the brand name in India, especially for the flagship programs, B.Com (Hons) and B.A. Economics (Hons). The college provides outstanding placement opportunities to its students. The placement statistics table is below.
Particulars | Package offered |
Average CTC (Tier-1) | INR 12.3 LPA |
Average CTC (Tier-2) | INR 6.1 LPA |
Average CTC (Tier-3) | INR 3.8 LPA |
Average CTC (Overall) | INR 5.7 LPA |
Highest CTC | INR 20.5 LPA |
The big 4s and top recruiters visit the campus, like Mc Kinsey, Futures First, Grant Thornton, The Smart Cube, IDInsight, Bain Capability Network, Genpact, EXL Consulting, BCG, DE Shaw, TresVista, Josh Talks, Ken Research, One Direct, and more.
The college has diversity. Even the internship placements are outstanding. The in-depth details for the same are updated on the college website.
Hansraj College offers B.Sc. (H) Computer Science program. It records an aggregate of 70% as a placement percentage. After graduating from HRC with a CS degree, there are bleak chances of getting an excellent placement.
Most of the things are dependent on your hard work and skillset in terms of looking for job opportunities. No college can guarantee you 100% placement.
Tabulated below are the recent placement statistics at the college:
Average CTC | INR 5.7 LPA |
Highest CTC | INR 20.5 LPA |
Placement Percentage | 70% |
Overall, it is better to opt for higher education and then get placed at a lucrative package.
The college offers all the basic amenities and decent infrastructure facilities. It includes a central library, sports complex, auditorium, hostel, laboratories, and computer centre. However, it does not offer any hostel facilities for female students.
You have to hunt for accommodation in PGs and hostels in the nearby area. One of the best options is Stanza Living. It is near to the college. One of my friends stayed there for a year, and she found it satisfactory. The facilities include the following.
Apart from the above, the other options for its residents include festival celebrations, movie screenings, lectures, and more. Overall, it will be a great experience.
You may only get a BA program in the 3rd-5th cutoff. If you are interested, then Hindi or Sanskrit Honours is also an option.
If you are looking to do B.Com.(Hons), Economics (Hons), Political Science (Hons), Geography (Hons) then probably no, you need at least 97–97.5%.
It is advised that you choose a course over college. It is much more important to do what you want to do than where you do it from.
Hansraj College will be a better option for pursuing B.Com Hons. It has a better Commerce faculty. It is one of the top colleges on the DU North campus and offers great extracurricular. Reputed companies such as EY, Oyo, Deloitte, D.E. Shaw, etc. visit the campus placements. The average CTC received by the B.Com students is around INR 8-9 LPA.
Hindu>Kirori Mal>Hansraj>Ramjas
The required cutoff for North campus colleges is usually higher than the south campus colleges. You can choose the college based on your cutoff.
