Hansraj College B.Sc Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria to be eligible for B.Sc programme at Hansraj College is that the candidates must have passed all the examinations at 10+2 level from a recognized institute. A relaxation of 5% in final aggregate scores is provided to reserved category candidates. The specialization wise eligibility criteria is mentioned below:

Hansraj College B.Sc Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to B.Sc at Hansraj College must appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by NTA. The selection will be based on the marks secured in the CUET UG exam followed by e-counselling conducted by Delhi University.

Candidates must appear in CUET in the following subject combination:

Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics

Merit will be based on the CUET scores obtained from the above-mentioned combination of subjects. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 30% score in any one language of List A in CUET.

Hansraj College B.Sc Application Process

Candidates applying for B.Sc at Hansraj College can follow below-mentioned steps in order to register for the CUET:

Candidates must visit the official CUET website - cuet.samarth.ac.in.
Upon opening the website candidates will find the ‘Register’ tab, they must click on it.
After reading and understanding the information provided, candidates must hit the ‘Proceed’ button.
After this, candidates will be directed to the application form. Candidates must fill in the required details carefully.
After filling the necessary details candidates will have to upload important documents such as signature, photograph, marksheet, etc. Candidates must upload all the required documents.
Candidates need to pay the application fee at the time of submitting the form or else the Online Application Form will not be considered.
After submitting the fee, candidates print out the form and save a hard copy for future references.
Candidates can login to their portals for any new updates, college cutoffs and so forth.
Candidates who are accepted must report to the college where the cutoff percentage is met. Candidates will be required to carry some documents with them such as Character certificate, provisional certificate, self attested photocopies of all the documents submitted above, class 11 and 12 original marksheets, etc.

Hansraj College B.Sc Course Details - Curriculum, Syllabus

Hansraj College, New Delhi provides B.Sc programme in 3 specializations for a minimum duration of 3 years. These courses are offered under the affiliation of Delhi University and hence follow the curriculum and syllabi as prescribed by the university only.

The BSc programme is a credit based course.
The course comprises 12 Core Courses, 2 Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses, 2 Skill Enhanced Courses and 6 Discipline Enhancement Elective Courses.

Program Structure

- Attendance: The students have no strict border line of maintaining the minimum attendance. However, five marks or below are provided in internal marks based on the percentage beginning from 60% to 80 % and above. The students maintaining above 80% get five full marks for attendance.
- Examinations: Students pursuing B.Sc programme need to appear for Mid-Term Examination, End-Term Examination, Assignments, Class Tests, Presentation and Discussions etc for the final and end term evaluation.
- Evaluation: Students must obtain 40% aggregate marks in all theory examination (including internal assessment/ project work) and practical examination separately. AECC and SEC are assigned 100 marks each and 25 marks are assigned to Internal Assessment (IA).
- Reservation: Seats are reserved for different category students. Below mentioned is the reservation criteria:
  - SC: 15%
  - ST: 7.5%
  - OBC: 27%
  - PwD: <5%
  - Supernumerary Seats: 5%
  - Kashmiri Migrants: 5%
- Scholarships: Scholarships in the form of fee concessions are provided to needy and deserving students on the basis of their performance in the previous examinations. Following are the details:
  - Scholarships for PwD candidates: Fees waiver + 50% Mess Subsidy upto INR 3000 pm, Fees waiver but no Mess Subsidy upto INR 8000 pm, No fees waiver and no Hostel Subsidy upto INR 8000 pm and above is offered to PwD candidates.
  - Other Scholarships: These are offered by DAV, Single Girl Child policy, NCERT, FAEA, Inspire etc.

Scholarship for the Enabling Unit: Two scholarships of INR 5000 and INR 3000 are given to the meritorious students of the Enabling Unit every year by the college Alumni Association.

- Fee concession from 50% to 100% based on annual income, family background, girl child etc are provided to candidates.

Among these institutes, Hindu College is better. Only SRCC, Stephens, and LSR can be considered in the same league as Hindu. It has a good reputation among recruiters. The placement cell is active and invites many companies to the placement drive. According to the recent placement statistics, the average CTC offered to the students is INR 8.4 LPA. Hansraj is also a decent option. National Social Service and other clubs are quite active. Miranda House is on the same level as Hansraj in terms of studies. It is more preferred among students since it is situated right next to the metro station.

One of my friends graduated with a B.A Economics (H) from Hansraj last year. So, I think I can answer your question. Here are some of the best things about the institute. This college has an ‘old world’ feel. The infrastructure of the college is great. The fee structure is affordable as compared to other private colleges. It has some incredible graduates, including Shahrukh Khan, Ranvijay, and Anurag Kashyap. The list is really long. Amazing crowd, the individuals here are both fun and hardworking at the same time. Admission is based on merit in qualifying examinations. Some of our professors are truly amazing, you will not find such professors at other colleges, even SRCC. There are many societies to explore like dramatics, photography society, and fine arts society, etc. The hostel was my friend’s home for three years, and there is simply no better place to stay when studying at Hansraj. However, it doesn’t have a girls’ hostel. North Campus has the best college location. You will not regret choosing the institute.

IPM is a complex and challenging course. It is an amalgamation of various subjects such as Maths, Economics, Sociology, etc. The workload will be immense. You will have to work hard to keep up with the coursework. But you will learn to look at things from multiple perspectives. IPM at IIM Indore also has a good placement record. In the placement drive that was conducted in 2021 virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a placement percentage of 100% has been recorded. The average package offered to the students was INR 23.60 LPA which is higher than the package offered in 2020. In addition to these, the average package offered to the top 100 students was INR 33 LPA. The highest domestic salary offered was INR 41.50 LPA and the international salary was INR 56.80 LPA. DU offers some leniency. You can miss a couple of classes and will be able to self-study. In the case of Hansraj College, the percentage of placement was 70% in their recent placement drive. The highest package recorded was 20.5 LPA and the average package was INR 5.7 LPA. The top companies were Boston Consulting Group, United Airlines, DE Shaw, etc. If you want a more relaxed college experience, then go for Hansraj College. Otherwise, IPM will be better.
