NIT Puducherry has maintained a good placement record over the years. According to the highlights, the placement rate for the institute is around 80%. NIT Puducherry placement has an average CTC of INR 4.9 LPA. While the highest CTC goes upto INR 15.25 LPA. ABB, Techmahindra, Optum are some of the major recruiters for NIT Puducherry.

The new campus of NIT-P is set beautifully on a plot of 280 acres. One of the beautiful things about the campus is that it is set on a seashore which makes the nearby atmosphere very calm and soothing. The new building has a separate science block which is huge and is connected to the nearby hostel and the canteen too.  The new building has labs and workshop rooms which are equipped with the latest tech and pieces of equipment. The new building also has no water problem as compared to the old one. For electricity and power, there have been no issues so far. There is a 24 hr drinking water facility available. Sometimes there are some long power cuts which are informed beforehand as the building is under construction.

Like every other hostel, you need to bring all the necessities you need to the hostel of NITP. Some of the important basic things which you will need in NIT-P are the following.  You will need bed sheets, pillows, and its covers, blankets, or a quilt for making your bed. Things from daily routine items like toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, face wash, perfume or deodorants, soaps, grooming kit. Clothes for general wear and for college. It’s also best to pack some special clothes for some special occasions or college fests. In terms of stationery items, it’s best to bring your items. You can buy notebooks from there too. These will be the basic items needed for when you join the hostel of NIT-P.

IIITDM Kancheepuram Mechanical is better in comparison. The department has four branches under the norms of Design and Manufacturing. The academics are practical-oriented. IIITDM follows an updated curriculum that is different from the traditional course structure of most engineering colleges. The Mechanical faculties are great. Most of them have PhDs qualifications from reputed IITs and NITs.  IIITDM Kancheepuram placements are good for Mechanical. Students of the branch get recruited as Project leads, Supervisors,  Design Operators, etc. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 7 LPA.

NIT Goa can be more preferable to NIT Puducherry. One of the major reasons is because NIT Goa comes with better exposure since it has a leading locational advantage. If you are starting your journey from Bhubaneswar then you will have three trains available.  Howrah - Pondy Express (12867) Santragachi - Pondy Spl (06009) Bhubaneswar - Pondy (12898) In case it’s more convenient for you to travel by air transport, the nearest airport to Pondy will be Chennai. Now, you can book a cab or relevant transport systems to further reach the campus.

When it comes to NITs, everyone knows that they are better than any private colleges in the aspects like fees, faculties, campus. The tag of NIT can come in handy for you any day.  NIT Puducherry (NITPY) has the best and most supportive faculty there is. Be it any department and especially CSE. There is nothing better than good professors from whom you can seek all the knowledge you want. The fee structure is quite affordable and less when compared to the private colleges but a bit more than government colleges.  The CSE department also has quite promising placements. The students get placed in huge companies in places like Bangalore, Noida, and Chennai. Not that we are looking for it but NIT Puducheert has a lab with a 1000 Mbps internet connection that is available for you to use. If it convinces you, then you can surely go for it.  If your requirement is Chemical Engineering or Biotechnology then it is not the best choice for you. 

Well, NIT Puducherry is not very old but till now they do not have a specific ground for playing. But considering the sports facilities, you can find huge areas around it that can be utilized as a sports ground.  For football, you can simply use the ground available.  The hockey ground is situated in the southeast direction but it is not very spacious.  Coming to volleyball, the NIT authorities have placed a net in the middle of the ground. You can find this facility at the boys' hostel currently.  For the rest of the outdoor games like basketball or baseball, you need to travel or explore nearby because the court at college is not very spacious. However, the campus has 2 indoor badminton courts and 2 table tennis courts.  NITP also conducts sports day. In which intra-NIT competitions are held among four teams of the college.  There are no professional coaches available currently and if you need personal coaching or one-to-one sports training on any sports, you need to take a look outside the college campus. 

The hostel at NIT Puducherry is amazing with all the required facilities available. There are two hostels, one for boys and another one for girls. In the next 1–2 years, more hostels with single rooms will be built. Following are a few details about the hostel and the facilities it offers: There is a mess on the first floor of each hostel. As a result, you won't have to walk far to eat your meal. The mess food is better than that of most other government colleges. There are two big lifts in each hostel. As a result, you will not have to climb many stairs. Each floor of the hostel has high-speed Wi-Fi and LAN, as well as water coolers, two large washrooms, and fire extinguishers, and fire alarms. On each floor, there is a common room with a television. You can watch movies, sports, and other entertainment. The rooms are spacious and well-maintained. There are security available 24 hours a day, and they are quite helpful. Most importantly, from the boy's hostel, you can see the enormous expanse of the Bay of Bengal sea. For those who do not live near the coast, the view is breathtaking. Due to the sea, there is a cool breeze for 24 hours. Overall, it is a great institute with the best facilities.

NIT Puducherry is a new NIT but offers decent academics. It is currently running from its’s permanent campus in Thiruvettakudy, Karaikal.  The campus is 256 acres big. The hostel rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and clean. The food quality offered at the mess is average, there are two canteens inside the campus. The college and hostels have high-speed internet facilities. The campus has a small departmental store that stays open from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm.  The student crowd on the campus is diverse. You will meet people from all across the country. On the campus, all festivals are celebrated, be it Holi, Pongal, Onam and so on.  NIT Puducherry organizes a cultural festival, i.e. ‘Le-Ceil’ in October. In March, ‘Gyanith’ - the tech fest is conducted. The institute has a good faculty base. Most of the professors, and lab assistants are quite helpful.  NIT Puducherry placements have been good over the last few years. According to the recent placement highlights, students receive a median CTC of INR 6 LPA. Optum, ABB, BYJU’s are some of the major recruiters.  In terms of academics, facilities, and placements, NIT Puducherry is a decent institute.
