Eligibility Criteria

A minimum of 60% aggregate marks at Secondary/X Standard/Equivalent and at Higher Secondary/XII/+2 level/Equivalent for General and NC-OBC category candidates
55% aggregate marks at Secondary/X Standard/ Equivalent and at Higher Secondary/XII/+2 level/Equivalent for SC, ST and PWD / DA candidates.
The candidates should not have an age above 20 years, as of June 30, 2024
All candidates meeting the minimum eligibility mentioned above will be called for the Aptitude Test.

Latest Update: IIM Rohtak IPMAT exam will be conducted on May 23, 2024.

IIM Rohtak IPM (Integrated Program in Management) is a 5-Year, Full-time Program. Candidates who have passed 10+2 Examinations and a valid IPMAT score are eligible to apply for the program. IIM Rohtak IPM seat intake for 2024 is 165. A total of 13,954 candidates attended the IPMAT exam 2023 and out of which 731 students were shortlisted for PI.

IIM Rohtak IPM fees is INR 17.65 Lakhs for the 1st three years. The fees for the next 2 years will be equal to the MBA program fees which is 17.9 Lakhs.

IIM Rohtak IPM Admission Process

IIM Rohtak IPM Admission Process is conducted into two stages, they are as follows:

Stage 1

Candidates are Shortlisted based on their Eligibility Criteria and IPMAT Scores for further selection process.

IPMAT Test will comprise of following sections:

IIM Rohtak is a good option for an MBA in Finance. It has a good ecosystem for Finance specialization. Every year, many students clear CFA Level 1.

The institute has a good faculty base. The student crowd is competitive. You will share classrooms with talented peers. The peer group is pretty diverse as well. There are people from different academic and cultural backgrounds.

IIM Rohtak’s FRM program is average at best. The number of faculties available is very few. So, the advisor keeps changing. Also, there is hardly any research work happening. You won’t get the proper guidance and training needed to continue the degree. The lack of a proper research interface makes it a poor choice for pursuing an FRM program.

Back in 2018, 15500 students applied for the IPM exam but this has nothing to do with the difficulty level of the exam.

If you are slightly advanced on topics related to Maths, such as sequences and series, functions, coordinate geometry and trigonometry, logarithms, probability, P&C, etc, then you will have a major upside.
In 2019, Indore’s IPM exam was a reasonable mix of various topics with 1 to 2 questions each. This gave every student an equal chance to attempt questions they prepared for.
Every section has a section-wise cut off and a PI WAT call is usually provided in case you have cleared all three cut-off ranges.
In a nutshell, 15500 students competing against a limited 120 seats go up to make the entry to IPM programs quite difficult and on the challenging side.

As per the trends of IIM Rohtak placements, the expected average salary for the IPM course is around INR 9 LPA. The placement rate for IPM is around 80%. It’s difficult to predict what would be the IIM Rohtak placement like for the IPM course. It will depend on the institute and the students. How the institute will handle 160 students and what type of exposure and internship opportunities are available for the students.

If you have stayed updated with the current news about the college, You may know that IIM Ahmedabad has announced Admission Criteria is that minimum required sectional percentile in CAT 2019, has been slashed to 70 and the overall percentile to 80 for shortlisting.

Due to this, Non-engineers stand a good chance to get into IIM Ahmedabad with a lower percentile. It is also done to improve academic diversity.

Is IPM IIM Rohtak worth it?

IIM Rohtak is a very newly established IIM that has yet to make its place in the IIM family. Because of its recent establishment people deem it not worthy of the IIM tag. But in reality, it’s gradually picking up pace and by the time its first batch will graduate (2024), it will have climbed the ladder higher.

People think the IPM program offered by IIM Rohtak is a backdoor for people who want to escape the CAT exam. In reality, most of the students plan to give CAT or GMAT or both at the end of their third year.

Even if one compares Rohtak and Indore, we can clearly see that Rohtak is way ahead of Indore. The first batch placements of Rohtak are better than Indore.

Some consider the lack of connectivity and cost also a reason why Rohtak is not worth it. But let me shed some light on this matter. Rohtak is just 70 km away from Delhi. The International airport is just an hour or two 's drive from the campus. So the connectivity issue is resolved here. As far as the cost is considered, one should not underestimate the 5 years he will be spending at an IIM campus with top-notch facilities and the most learned faculty and brilliant peers. All the investment is worth it. The final decision is yours to make but does remember that IIM Rohtak will have climbed the ladder in just a few years.
