Course Description

NIT Warangal BTech Admissions 2024 registration is going on. NIT Warangal offers BTech as its flagship program for a duration of 4 years further divided into 8 semesters. The institute allows admission to its BTech course through the valid scores secured in the JEE Mains and further JoSAA counselling. The application process of this program is currently open and aspirants can now apply online on jeemain.nta.nic.

Furthermore, NIT Warangal BTech 2024 admissions will be based on JEE Mains 2024. JEE Mains is expected to take place in two phases, i.e., in the month of January and April. JEE Mains 2024 first attempt exam date is scheduled on the last week of January 2024 (tentative).

NIT Warangal B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to NIT Warangal B.Tech shall fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

Must have qualified 10+2 with a Science stream, and Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Must have scored up to 75% or equivalent points in 10+2 examinations.
Must have qualified for JEE Main

NIT Warangal B.Tech Admission Criteria

Selection Procedure

NIT Warangal B.Tech Admission is done on the basis of JEE Main examination. Candidates who qualify for the entrance exam have to appear for centralized counseling by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).

Selection criteria will be done on the basis of JEE Main marks (60%).
Only 40% of 10+2 marks will be calculated in the merit lists.
10% relaxation for ST/SC candidates.
seats are allotted through a counseling process done by JoSAA-CSAB.
All the seats are reserved category-wise Gen/SC/ST/OBC and PwD depending upon the guidelines instructed by MHRD.
Foreign/Non-resident of India candidates can apply for a B.Tech course under the Direct Admissions of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

How to Apply for JoSAA Counselling?

NIT Warangal allows admission for B.Tech only through a counseling process done by JoSAA(Joint Seat Allocation Authority).

Visit the official website of Joint Seat Allocation Authority @jossa.nic.in.
Register yourself using JEE Main Scores.
Candidates can fill as many options while registering that in the decreasing order.
Once choices are made cannot be changed later on, therefore candidates need to fill the options very carefully
The counseling process is done in the 7 rounds to allot the seats for the desired stream
Candidates need to book their seats by paying booking fees
Candidates need to appear at the nearest JoSAA center for document verification.

NIT Warangal B.Tech Course Details

NIT Warangal B.Tech is a 4-year program of which the coursework is divided into 8 semesters.

The total coursework of the B.Tech constitutes the following components: Basic Science Core (BSC), Engineering Science Core (ESC), Humanities and Social Science Core (HSC), Program Core Courses (PCC), Departmental Elective Courses (DEC), Open Elective Courses (OPC), Program Major Project(PRC) and EAA: Games and Sports (MDC).
In the first two semesters, all the NIT Warangal B.Tech programs will have the same courses.
The Major Project is a 6-credit course and is offered in the 7th and 8th semesters
The minimum number of credits that an NIT Warangal B.Tech could register in a semester is 16 and the maximum is 30.

Program Structure

Course Duration: The minimum duration to complete the NIT Warangal B.Tech is 4 years and the maximum is 8 years (16 semesters).
Open Electives: The open electives can be any of the following: Basic Sciences, Engineering Science Courses, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Management.
Credit Requirements: The minimum credit requirement to pursue the program is 173 with a CGPA not less than 4.0.
Course Schedule: Each odd and even semester will be of 17 weeks including the end-semester examination.
Attendance Requirements: Candidates are required to have a minimum attendance of 80% in each semester to qualify for the end-semester examination. 5% attendance relaxation is given to girl candidates
Evaluation: B.Tech program is evaluated for 100 marks which are Periodic Evaluation by Grade 40 marks, Mid-term review 20 marks, End Semester viva voce 40 marks.

NIT Warangal provides very good hostel facilities to first-year students among most of the Engineering students in India. The approximate cost for a hostel ranges from 1.8-2k. Second-year students are required to stay in the Old Blocks which is not as good as the hostels of First-year students. For Third Year students, an average hostel costing 1k is provided with pretty decent facilities. At a glance, we can say that the hostel facilities of NIT Warangal are better than that of NIT Trichy.

My brother did his M.Tech from NITC. Here is his insight into the general placement scenario for MTech at NITs. Over the years it has been seen that the placements for M.Tech students are comparatively less as most of the companies demand B.Tech graduates as the freshers or even experienced candidates. However, in some cases, M.Tech students are considered, like in research and development-oriented jobs. However, most industries prefer B.Tech over M.Tech. After pursuing M.Tech your area gets narrower due to which the situation becomes very tricky for both the employers and the candidates applying for. As far as all the colleges are concerned the placement statistics are not so good for M.Tech students. In the recent placement drives, the average CTC offered at NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy and NIT Surathkal were respectively 21 LPA, 6 LPA, and 11 LPA.

Having known some people who graduated from NIT Trichy and NIT Warangal I can say that there is no demand for either of these two subjects in the industry. Both the colleges are of similar reputation in the industry, hence choose the one that suits your location. This will ease your transportation. The students of these institutes opt for CSE, learn programming languages from scratch, willing to be computer engineers in the future. They are offered salary packages ranging from 12-24 LPA, depending on their skills. Sometimes it rises up to 50 LPA. These companies not only check academic credentials but also their TopCoder and GitHub profiles. Some even opt to be managers, their jobs demand and value academic credentials. They receive salary packages ranging from 15-18 LPA. The placements at both colleges are good. Make a calculative decision considering the field you are interested in.

Honesty, discipline, and the values of the South Indian people and the states make them stand out. This might not be making sense to you, but will definitely try to elucidate the same here. Also, opinions vary among people. One of my friends studied at NIT Trichy and he has lived in Hyderabad as well. According to him, 4 qualities that make any institution the best are - Hard work, discipline, humbleness, and the eagerness to learn. The people in the southern state's priorities have these factors more than the people in the northern states. The second point to note here is that, unless and until you get to the nerves, the people in the southern states are very calm and polite to you. Most of the people in the northern states, on the other hand, are of a rowdy attitude. Verbal abuses are common here. The students in these institutions are dedicated to learning and so are the teachers towards teaching. Moreover, the rules and regulations are followed strictly in these institutions.

No, NITs are definitely not considered of the same level as the new IITs while applying to the US for an MS. But, the fact that IITs are the best brand in India and the second-best brand are NITs, is well known to the admission committees of most of the institutions. Every year, students from the top three NITs make it to top universities in the US. With the increase in this trend, NIT Trichy, Surathkal and Warangal are known to many institutions in the US. Besides, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the top NITs and many international institutions also are of great help to the students. As some of my friends are from NIT Calicut, I might be able to share some information about the college I gathered from them. The major reason for the diminishing NIRF ranking is its lack of proper administrative procedures during MHRD document verification. The details about the alumni network are really poor. Another reason is the college is trying to maintain its age-old legacy by keeping the infrastructure as it is. They are rarely repaired, There is no construction of new buildings. Even the facilities are old and are not replaced by modern technologies. If you think that the drop in the rankings is because of the quality of education, faculty, or placements, let me assure you that it is not. Because NIT Calicut is still considered among the top 4 NITs.

I say this based on the reviews I git from my friends at both the institutes. Here are some of the reasons why you should choose Dhanbad. Placements: Here are the recent placement statistics of IIT Dhanbad. Highest CTC 48.36 LPA Average CTC 14 LPA Major recruiters Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Sprinkler, etc. The figures given above do not contain recruitment through GATE, UPSE, IES, etc. So, the portrayed figures are lower than actual numbers. Other than the impressive placements, IIT Dhanbad also offers a great academic environment. You will have helpful seniors and professors. It also puts a lot of emphasis on sports and extracurricular activities. If you are considering pursuing a computer science engineering program, it would be suggested that you consider both BITS Pilani Goa Campus and NIT Warangal. Both colleges offer excellent CSE departments and have a great coding culture at BPGC. NIT Warangal would be the better choice for you. This is because BITS has only three campuses in India (four if you count Dubai), while there is an NIT in every state, and admission to these colleges is governed by state quotas. As a result, BPGC has the potential to overtake every NIT, except for the top 5-7 colleges. Nonetheless, both BITS Goa and NIT Warangal are currently excellent options for pursuing CSE. If cost is an important factor for you, NIT Warangal might be the more suitable option, as it provides relatively low-cost education. However, the decision of which college to choose ultimately depends on you, and you should take all relevant factors into account before making a decision.
