At NIT Trichy, the Mtech in Electrical branch is in high demand. NIT Trichy is well known for its placements. Being one of the best NITs, NIT Trichy has vast industry connections. When you study at NIT Trichy, you will realise how the curriculum is in touch with the industry requirements. You will be trained to be the best in your industry. And this is what attracts the top recruiters to NIT Trichy. The total fee of this course at NIT Trichy comes to around INR 3.32 Lakhs. The total percentage of the batch that was placed in 2023 was around 97%. This is because most of the students opt out of placements to pursue higher education or become entrepreneurs. The median salary was around INR 9.50 Lakhs.

The industry requirement is primarily that of a B.Tech graduate. M.Techs are preferred over B.Techs only for R&D jobs. Companies seek B.Techs for fresher as well as experience requiring job openings.

After pursuing an M.Tech, your interest and specialization will be very specific. This will narrow down your employment opportunities. In all the NITs, B.Techs are given preference over M.Techs not just in placements, but practically everything.I would personally recommend an M.Tech only if you are interested in an R&D role in the future, or if you want to pursue Phd.

Whichever NIT out of these three you choose, the situation is more or less the same. However, it is commonly said that NIT Trichy offers comparatively decent placements for its M.Tech students.

My brother did his M.Tech from NITC. Here is his insight into the general placement scenario for MTech at NITs.

Over the years it has been seen that the placements for M.Tech students are comparatively less as most of the companies demand B.Tech graduates as the freshers or even experienced candidates. However, in some cases, M.Tech students are considered, like in research and development-oriented jobs. However, most industries prefer B.Tech over M.Tech.

After pursuing M.Tech your area gets narrower due to which the situation becomes very tricky for both the employers and the candidates applying for. As far as all the colleges are concerned the placement statistics are not so good for M.Tech students.

In the recent placement drives, the average CTC offered at NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy and NIT Surathkal were respectively 21 LPA, 6 LPA, and 11 LPA.
