Solution and Explanation:

Approach Solution 1:
5x^2+4x−1
= 5x^2+5x−x−1
=5x(x+1)−1(x+1)
=(x+1)(5x−1)
Statement 1: x(x + 2) = 0
Either x= 0 or x=-2
If x=0,
5x^2+4x−1=(+1)(−1)= −1
If x= -2
5x^2+4x−1= (−2+1)(−10−1)=(−1)(−11)= 11
Insufficient
Statement 2: x = 0
