Let the number of years be m.
Therefore, x(1+R/100)^m = 8x
(1+R/100)^m = 2^3
(1+R/100)^m = [(1+R/100)^15]^3 ….. [from equation (i)]
(1+ R/100)^m = (1+R/100)^45

On comparing both powers, we get
m=45 years
The number of years it will become 8 times =45 years.
