CBSE class 12 registration process for AY 2022-23 is likely to be started by the end of October, 2022 for regular candidates. Private candidates can fill and submit the online application form on the official website of CBSE from Sep 16, 2022. In order to register for the CBSE class 12 exams for the academic year 2022-23, the student must be registered with CBSE Board in class 11 and should have successfully cleared the same. It is applicable for both regular as well as private candidates. 

  • For regular candidates, the registration can be done only through CBSE-affiliated schools. Online applications are not permitted. 
  • Schools are supposed to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) appearing for board exams along with their required details. 
  • The details must be duly filled by the candidate and carefully checked before submission.

The initial registration is necessary for all the candidates in order to fill the application form for the board exams. The initial registration is done in class 11 for students appearing for class 12 boards. The registration card is necessary at the time of filling the application form.

  • A student who has failed in the 12th standard can apply for the examinations.
  • All the formalities regarding the application shall be fulfilled on the direction of the concerned school authorities.
  • Candidates who wish to improve their score in the subjects in which they scored less can also appear in the exams again.

Registration forms of CBSE class 12 will be available on the official website of CBSE i.e. cbse.gov.in. However, students can only submit their forms through respective school authorities. Before submitting the form, students should carefully check all the details including the subjects they will be appearing for. 

CBSE 12th Registration Form 2023 for Private Candidates

Candidates appearing privately are required to submit the application form on the official website of CBSE along with the prescribed application fee. The registration will be started from September 16, 2022. Check the below mentioned steps in order to fill the application form:

  • Visit the official website of CBSE – cbse.nic.in
  • Go to the candidates log in section
  • Fill all the details in the application form
  • Pay the application fee through debit and credit card/net banking/upi etc.
  • Submit and download the application form for future reference

Candidates are required to keep the below-mentioned details handy while registration. Make sure the below details are accurate as no changes will be allowed later. 

  • Full Name of Parents/Guardian 
  • Student’s Full Name
  • Date of Birth (as per the birth certificate)
  • Subject Codes
  • Optional Subject Selection
  • Signature of Parents/Guardian
  • Recent Passport Size Photograph 

Important Instructions

Students must fill all the details carefully including; 

  • Categories such as Fail, Compartment, Improvement of Performance.
  • Student’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, etc.
  • Roll number, school number and centre number as given in their mark sheet of board examination.
  • If there will be any wrong information, the form will be rejected and the fee will be forfeited.
Registration of Private Candidates

Registration Procedure for Private Candidates

Candidates who are not part of regular schools have to fill the application form in the online mode. The last date to fill and submit the online registration form will be notified later. The steps to fill online application are as follows:

  • Candidates are required to visit the official website of CBSE i.e. cbse.gov.in 
  • Select the online application for private candidates for class 12 exams.
  • Now, click on the registration for the class 12 option and enter the required details such as 5-digit school no., exam centre no., etc.
  • Make a payment of your specified registration fees.
  • Now click on submit. 
  • Download the application form and take a printout for future reference.

The registration fee as charged by CBSE Board from class 12 students are given below: 

Category Fees
For General Students Rs. 1,500 for five subjects; Rs. 300 per additional subject
For ST/SC Students Rs. 1,200 for five subjects
Late Fee Rs. 2000 in additional to the normal charges

Note: Visually impaired students are exempted completely from paying the examination fees. 

Mode of Payment

The following modes of payment are acceptable in CBSE Board: 

  • CBSE is accepting fees only through online methods such as Netbanking, Debit/Credit Card (both national/international).
  • No fee will be accepted through offline mode. Registration forms without fee will be rejected.
  • If any candidate faces any problem with the bank-related transaction of the fee, candidates should contact the respective bank through which payment was made.

Important Suggestions Regarding Application

Below are some important guidelines regarding application procedure for class 12 students: 

  • Candidates can only apply for subjects that are auto-generated by the system.
  • Candidates can not request for the examination center change as centers once allotted is final and no request for change of examination center will be accepted.
  • Original marksheet will be sent by the Local Regional Office to the residential address of the candidate as given by the candidate in the registration form, by speed post.
  • The new roll number of the candidates will be allotted by the CBSE board for candidates appearing for the examinations.
  • All the candidates whose forms have been accepted can download their admit card from the official website of CBSE.
  • Candidates reappearing for improving their marks or for compartment subjects will be issued a separate marksheet and only the marks obtained in the given exam will be printed on the mark sheet.
