Chemistry Practical Class 12 Important Instructions
- The practical examination will be of two hour duration.
- The written test will be of 30 minutes duration.
- The students are also required to maintain a practical file. A student is expected to record atleast five of the listed experiments as per the specific instructions for each subject.
- These practicals should be duly checked and signed by the internal examiner.
- The format of writing any experiment in the practical file should include aim, apparatus required, simple theory, procedure, related practical skills, and precautions.
- Questions may be generated jointly by the external/internal examiners and used for assessment.
- The viva questions may include questions based on basic theory/principle/concept,apparatus/materials/ chemicals required, procedure, precautions, or sources of error.

Chemistry Practical Class 12 Preparation Tips
Chemistry Class 12 Practical are very important to score well in the final Board Examinations as they are of 30 marks. Some of the preparation tips for preparing for the practicals are as given below:
- Concept behind the specific experiment: Read the question carefully and thoroughly then only you can understand the principle working behind the particular experiment. If you know about the concept of each and every experiment conducted during the class, performing it is not at all a tough task.
- Learn the procedure to conduct the experiment: Make a series of steps to conduct the specific experiment given to you. Different experiments have different procedures. So you should know how a particular experiment is to be carried out and what is the apparatus needed for that experiment.
- Don't cram the readings: As different apparatus have different specifications so the set of readings obtained this time may be different than those taken during the class. It's better to clear your basics rather than cramming.
- Be good with diagrams and circuits: Visualize and draw rough diagrams for the experiments to prepare. During the exam, the examiner may come and reset all your apparatus settings just to check whether it was not preset and may ask you to reconstruct the whole setting.
- Be confident during the practical examination: During the experiment, remain calm and document the entire procedure you follow so that you are able to answer oral questions asked by the examiner in the oral exam after practical is completed.
