Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose B.Com hons because I wanted to get the best placements by enrolling myself in a professional course and getting access to the best learning environment that is valid for the corporate world. The faculty-to-student ratio would be around 30:1 (30 students: 1 teacher).

Remarks:

The eligibility was the class 12th board results. I scored 98% in my best of four and it helped me get admission into B.Com Honors course. The best of the four includes English as a subject as well. I had Commerce in my class 12th.

Placement Experience:

Our college gets good amount of placements. LSR is considered one of the good college in terms of getting internships and placements. Also packages offered are excellent. Placement cell offers good internship opportunities.

Remarks:

My admission was done on the basis of 12th-class marks. Admission required some documents and on the basis of cut-offs I got into LSR. However now exams in DU are on the basis of the entrance exams, that is CUET, so the whole weightage is given to the entrance exams and in the 12th one should have some minimum marks as a qualification to apply for the DU colleges.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from the 6th sem to sit for placements. Companies offering 6 lac to 37 lac visit the campus every year. I was placed in a multinational company with a very good package. People from stats maths and eco courses have higher chances of placement though.

Remarks:

It's not mandatory to have an arts background to apply for this course. All the application forms and steps are mentioned on DU Website. In 2018 the cutoff was 96.5 and if the seats are filled by the 1st cutoff, no second cutoff is released.

2 MONTHS AT LSR

Placement Experience:

Since NEP-2020 policy is applicable to us, I would go through the Research which will be offered to us in the fourth year after completing graduation. Placement cell is active in the college as it provides various internships and placements of different sectors to the students studying in any year. Virtual, part time or full time internships and jobs are there. Full time is generally do-able in the months of May and June(in semester break). Mainly jobs are from private or corporate sector. One should take care of the attendance criteria also before applying to the internship in which they are wishing to join. University or college won't entertain any such thing. Internship policy covering every aspect is provided by the college. Students in humanities courses have relatively more chances of getting job opportunities in comparison to commerce and science stream.

Remarks:

For the first time admission process of under graduates to central and state universities in India was conducted through Common University Entrance Test in 2022. Thus, there won't be any cut off by the colleges under different universities anymore. All the *exam related information* such as notices stating details of the the participating universities, and the duration, mode, fees of examination and the issue of admit cards or any amendments, isprovided to the students on the webiste cuet.samarth.ac.in. The site is resticted to conduct the examination only. Students may aspire to take the admission test for different universities. One is needed to look for detailed information on the respective universities website itself in which they want to take the admission. There they may look for factors like- syllabus for a course, eligibility, seat matrix. It is advised to fill the maximum number of universities and course-college combinations.

All about LSR

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is one of the best courses in LSR. The ratio of faculty and students is poor though as there is over-admission and faculty recruitment is so low. The elder faculty teach well but new ones do not know the way of teaching even being knowledgable

Remarks:

Eligibility for the course is if you have passed class 12th with 60% marks from any recognized board and have a good percentile in the CUCET exam. The application process is online on the official site of DU UG admission.

Review on Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University

Course Curriculum Overview:

the size of the class was big. all the faculties were very qualified. Almost all of them had a doctorate. Very sincere professor, who treated us as mature adults. Some professors would share presentations, and some would read from notes. the classes were timely, but it was a difficult course since it is very difficult to score good marks.

Remarks:

I scored 94.8%, however, the score for my best of four was 98.2%, which helped me gain admission since I was able to clear the first cutoff. All the details regarding the application fees and application dates are mentioned on the college portal. You need to download the application form from the portal of the University of Delhi.

LSR is better than all because of the various factors including the environment, peer groups, events, and many other things. If you are not a native resident of NCR and there’s a choice between no hostel LSR or the Miranda House with the hostel, then you can opt for the latter as you will get to enjoy and experience the hostel life. If you are unable to get a hostel anywhere then opt for LSR anyway.

B.A Hons. in Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College is definitely a better option than DCAC. It is way better in terms of campus, ranking, reputation, student crowd, etc. The cutoff required for the institute is also higher. So, you will be among competitive peers. If you don’t get LSR, try to get into other south-campus colleges. DCAC is not included in any of the DU campuses, which is a huge disadvantage.

They both have huge respect from the teaching fraternity. Miranda House is in North Delhi while LSR is in South Delhi and is actually very far from most other colleges. Both the colleges will change your perspective and will give you a totally new outlook of the world ahead. You will make some great friends and your girl-girl bond will definitely grow stronger. However, I feel that LSR is a little bit too sophisticated and modern and the girls also feel a little too posh. At Miranda House, you will get students from all corners and strata of society. Overall you will not regret for the next three years the decision you took today.

So, research about the course that you are interested in, in both LSR and JMC. In general, as a subject, Economics Hons has better scope than Statistics Hons.
