Course Description

IIIT Allahabad MTech admission 2024 will be based on the GATE scores followed by CCMT counseling. For IIIT Allahabad MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date of regular registration is September 29, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 13^th October, 2023. Furthermore, GATE 2024 exam dates have been announced. GATE 2024 entrance exam will be held in the month of February. The exam dates for GATE 2024 is on February 3,4,10 & 11.

IIIT Allahabad offers MTech program in 10 different specialisations for a duration of 2 years seggregated into 4 semesters. IIIT Allahabad M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

The students must hold a B.Tech degree in the relevant field with at least 60% aggregate score. (6.5 GPA).
5% relaxation is given to students belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories.
The students must apply and appear for the GATE exam and hold a valid score.
The whole admission process will be handled by CCMT counseling.

How to Apply?

The students must visit the official website of CCMT and register themselves. Click here for a direct link.
The registration fee of INR 2500/- (for OC/OB) and INR 2000/- (for SC/ST/PwD) can be paid through any online payment gateway.
The students can now go ahead with the choice filling process.
The students will be allotted seats based on the order of choices and scores obtained.
If the students are willing to join the institute allotted, a Seat Acceptance Fee of INR 30,000 must be paid, and a provisional seat allotment letter must be produced during reporting to the institute.
If the students are not interested in the institute allotted, they can either Float, Freeze or Slide the institute and wait for the further rounds.
The students can go ahead with document verification after the fee payment. This process is compulsory failing which the admission will be considered null.
After the document verification, the students can go ahead with payment of admission fees to the respective institute.

IIIT Allahabad M.Tech Course Details

About two-thirds of the total credits involve coursework and laboratory, and the remainder consists of project work/dissertation.
The curriculum should be so drawn up that the minimum number of credits for successful completion of the M.Tech program of any stream is 60 ± 3 credits.
Students are expected to have 100% attendance in all the courses. The minimum attendance requirement for completion of any course is 85%.

IIIT Allahabad offers an enviable campus life. On weekdays there will be classes from 9.00 AM to 6 PM. The institute has a strict attendance rule. Students need to maintain at least 80% attendance. You will have theory and lab classes. After 6 pm, many students play cricket, football, or hang out. Some also study. You will meet all kinds of people in the hostel. Some people play video games with friends at night, some study, and some students play loud music until the guard asks them to turn the volume down. Weekends are usually boring compared to weekdays. Students usually go out or play sports. Many students also use the weekends to finish their assignments and coursework.

One of my friends told a story of IIIT Allahabad. It was in his 7th semester when this took place. We were just done with the farewell. He was presenting his end-semester project, and a batchmate called him and told him that there was a surprise check in the hostel. A friend wanted him to come to the hostel immediately. He hurried up his presentation and ran to the hostel. When he reached, Karan and Raif were in the warden's room. He entered and Virender lined up 5-6 liquor bottles on the table. He pointed to 2-3 bottles kept on the floor and told them that they found this and the 5-6 bottles in his room. He also found a bucket that was filled with green water and some green matter on the top. The table was black from the ash, and the floor was littered with cigarette buds. He goes on to lecture them about cleanliness and how he wanted them out of the hostel. This resulted in begging and pleading. Karan got pissed and started lashing out at Virender on how the cleaning guy is careless. My friend and Raif somehow stopped his yelling and got back to begging. It was their final month anyway since they had to go to their internships. He finally relents and gives them an hour or something to clean everything up. So they go upstairs and start the cleaning themselves. He was using a broom and cleaning everything, carelessly. Karan yelled why are you using broom like that (using curse words), and at that moment another batchmate walked in who incidentally was nicknamed 'broom' and got offended and started using curse words as well. The situation was hilarious and was one of the craziest moments we witnessed in IIIT Allahabad.
