The LNM Institute of Information Technology (LNMIIT) is a deemed to be university located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was established in the year 2002. It offers various UG, postgraduate and research programs in several specializations. At the UG level, the college offers B.Tech and a Dual Degree program viz. B.Tech + M.Tech. At the postgraduate level, the college offers M.Tech and M.Sc to the students. LNMIIT Jaipur also offers Ph.D. and MS by Research programs in different disciplines.

Admission to B.Tech, Integrated B.Tech+ M.Tech and B.Tech (Lateral Entry) is offered in three modes, i.e., JEE Main Score, Direct admission to Central & State Board toppers and Direct admission to Abroad (DASA) for PIOs and NRIs categories. For M.Tech, LNMIIT conducts its own entrance test followed by an interview, although GATE qualified candidates will be given preference at the time of admission.

M.Sc admission is also granted on the basis of the LNMIIT-based written test while JAM qualified candidates can also apply. LNMIIT, Jaipur offers admission to MS by Research and PhD courses on the basis of a written test followed by an interview. GATE/ NET/ SLET or any other equivalent examination qualified candidates are exempted from LNMIIT written test.

The LNM Institute of Information Technology offers undergraduate courses such as B.Tech and a five-year Integrated program leading to Dual Degree B.Tech-M.Tech. Student must have passed with an aggregate of minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade in Class 10th examination for meeting the eligibility criteria

Admission in the courses is done on the basis of marks scored in JEE Main conducted by the CBSE. The institute also offers direct admission to board toppers and admission to NRIs and PIOs under DASA scheme.

At postgraduate level, LNMIIT offers M.Tech in various specializations for the duration of two years. The candidates seeking admission in M.Tech should be a BE / B.Tech in appropriate branch of Engineering. However, the eligible candidates must have to appear in written test conducted by the college followed by a personal interview.

GATE qualified students will be exempted from written test. Candidates having GATE percentile ≥ 95 will be considered for direct admission in the respective branch.

In addition to the M.Tech program, the institute also offers Master of Science (M.Sc) at the postgraduate level. The course is offered in two specializations viz. Mathematics and Physics.

Admission in M.Sc is done on the basis of marks scored in written test conducted by the college followed by a personal interview. But, in order to get admission, the candidates should have scored a minimum of 55% or equivalent in Graduation in the relevant discipline.

Candidates need to register online through the official website of the college. The application form should be filled and submitted online along with the required fee. For UG (Regular Mode) admission candidate has to pay a non-refundable and non-adjustable application fee of INR 2000/- (for female candidates the application fee is INR 1000/-), for PG and PhD admissions  INR 500/- (For, Women applicant, the application fee is INR 250/-).

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should be a native English speaker or should have studied 10+2 in English medium school or should have a minimum aggregate score of 1040 (out of a maximum of 1600) in SAT.

The college takes admissions through jee main it has a separate form available on the lnmiit.ac.in the form has to be filled separately and the fee of the form is around 1200. there is no such any reservation system.

Remarks:

Admission is based on the Joint Entrance examination (JEE Main) percentile in my year of admission. There are no other criteria for admission. There are no reservations about admission to this college. The application form is available on the college website.

There is no separate entrance exam. You can take admission on basis of your JEE Mains result and there is also available through lateral entry. You can find application form on college website Application fees vary every year and details of it is given in the application form There are no reservation benefits is in this college. Cutoff also varies every year for the CSE branch it ends on 96.3 last year.

I am a student in the year 2022-23. In this college, only deserving students get admitted because there are no reservations at all. Academics is tougher as compared to other colleges. The campus is very good.

For this college, you should get 93 and above percentile in the joint mains examination. You can find the application form on the website and the fees and dates are also there. the website is not developed so much. No need to any improvements in admission process.

Remarks:

The only criterion for admission is your percentile in JEE Mains examination. The eligibility criteria keep on getting higher. In 2020, the last person to get admission to LNMIIT had a percentile slightly over 94%. The following year it was 95% something. Also, the fees keep increasing every year by 10%. Currently, the students in the first year who have taken admission will be paying around 24 lakhs for their complete B. Tech. including hostel fees, whereas, students of my batch would have to pay around 17.6 Laksh (including hostel fees, but 3 semesters were online, thanks to COVID so the fees came down to around 14 lakhs). The application form is released sometime in May and the fee is 5000/- for that form.

Remarks:

The admission process is very simple, it just takes your JEE Mains rank and accordingly you can get branches i.e CSE, CCE, ECE. The cutoff for this year is 97.7 percentile and above for the CSE branch. 96.8 percentile and above for the CCE branch and 96.3 and above for the ECE branch and 95.2 and above percentile for the Mechanical branch. The professors are very good and well knowledged. The campus is 100 acres but is beautiful and peaceful. Every facility is available.

My brother is from LNMIIT so I can tell you why LNMIIT is a better choice. Ranking and Accreditation: LNMIIT holds 2nd rank among the best IT colleges in Jaipur and 3rd best private college in Rajasthan. LNMIIT is approved by AICTE and has also been accredited by NAAC with a grade 'A'. Admission: It is a “Non-Profit” Institute and admissions here are based on JEE (Mains). There is no reservation policy. Every student is treated equally based on their performance. Facilities: Facilities like infrastructure, hostel, mess are much better than IIT Kota. Placements: The Highest package offered in IIIT Kota is of about 27 lakhs/year whereas in LNMIIT it is 36 lakhs and the average salary package offered is around 10.48 lakhs and still increasing. Clubs and Extra-curricular: There are various clubs and extracurricular activities present on campus. All the clubs are actively involved in various kinds of sports, technical and cultural activities. Fest: Every year LNMIIT organizes one of the biggest annual Techno-cultural fests, i.e. “Vivacity”. Coding Culture: The coding culture of LNMIIT is really amazing, even better than IIIT Kota. Every month, different types of coding events on CodeChef, Hacker earth are organized by the coding club of LNMIIT. LNMIIT Jaipur would be a better option than Thapar University. There are certain factors as to why I think so. Both of these institutes can’t be compared on the basis of the year of establishment as some institute proves their superiority within very few years.  Any institute can’t be judged on the basis of age. For example, IIIT Delhi is just 8 years old but it is much better than LNMIIT and Thapar. Also, people often called Thapar a brand but in reality, only IITs or BITS are well known outside the county. LNMIIT often creates hype about their GSoC selections.  The coding culture at LNMIIT is way better than at Thapar Institute. Placement highlights Categories Thapar University LNMIIT Jaipur Course Fee 13.23 lakh 12.36 lakh Highest CTC offered INR 25 LPA INR 23 LPA Average CTC offered INR 16 LPA INR 12 LPA Top recruiters Oracle, Wipro, Infosys, Royal Bank of Scotland, etc. Amazon, Adobe, Oyo, Airtel, etc If the student is inclined towards CSE, it is better to go somewhere with good coding cultures and receive good packages. If you are getting CSE at LNMIIT, go for it. Do not choose a branch just for the sake of the NIT tag. After completing the degree you may only have placement options in MNCs like TCS, Infosys, etc. I know many people from unknown branches of IIIT working in service companies. So, you get the idea.  If you are one of the top students at LNMIIT Jaipur, you can easily secure a placement package of around 7-8 LPA.  According to the recent industry trends, for securing good placement offers you need to be good at coding. And LNMIIT has a developed coding culture.  The table below shows a brief overview of the two institutes. When talking about BIT Mesra and LNMIIT Jaipur, you need to reconsider the branch you are opting for. If you are anyhow interested in pursuing the branch of Computer Science, and you are simultaneously not getting the required seat at BIT Mesra, then choosing CSE at LNMIIT Jaipur will not actually be that bad of a choice.  Despite all facts considered, BIT Mesra still is one step taller in regards to the academic background since it was established years back and is known to be very old. Other than that, it has earned the reputation it now is known for in India.  LNMIIT is still sowing seeds of growth and is in its early years. Yet, it has not stopped it from growing rapidly, each particular year, in every aspect as important.  BIT Mesra boasts its average package of INR 9.11 Lakhs Per Annum, and the highest that it has reached over time, from the national aspect is 34 lakhs per annum.  The zeal that this institution enjoys pushes past every other record, thus choosing it over the latter will supposedly be a better choice, if not the best. BIT is hoping to push past more records, and enhance over time. It is known by students too that you will not regret the 4 years time of your course after graduating from the institution. On contrary to BIT’s success, LNMIIT stands with an average package of 10.2 lakh per annum. That means both of them are good. But regardless of that fact, BIT Mesra still stands one step higher from LNMIIT Jaipur in total.

I know a few things about LNMIIT since I have few friends there. It is a public-private non-profitable college, located in Rajasthan. From what I heard from my friends, I will not recommend choosing this institute.  The main problem of this institute is the administration. There have been many misconducts by the management, in recent years. Scoring marks in college is very hard as the teachers usually give D and F grades to their students which makes their GPA < 6 and hence making it difficult for them to sit in the placements. There is nothing like supplementary exams which is common practice in IITs and NITs. If you want to build upon your career, don’t choose LNMIIT. Mostly, half of the batch fails in the exams. Finally, life is tough at LNMIIT, so don’t go for it. Look for other options.
