Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm only in my first year, I have little knowledge about every faculty member. But those whom I have met, are okay. Opinion depends on the individual faculty. But overall they are a well-made group. The faculty-student ratio is good. All the faculty members are PhD holders. Almost all of them have their writings published on national and international platforms. The difficulty of the exams is medium.

As I have chosen the AIML course which is a specialization in cs. I have a keen interest in Machine learning. That's why I chose this course. Faculty: students ratio is about 1:18. mostly faculties have done PhD and some also have more than one PhD. It is easy to pass every exam teacher has to give 70% marks to each student rather than the final. In the final exam, you just have to right any thing you want just write the criteria to get marks.

I love programming and had it in mind when I applied for the choice stream that I have today. The faculty-student ratio is acceptable, nothing very special but not below average. Most of the faculty members have doctorates and are experts in their fields. Although all faculty members are experts in their specializations, some of them are not the best to impart that knowledge to the students. Term exams were conducted timely, it was relatively easy to pass if that's the only objective.

I personally love programming and had it in mind when applied for my choice of course. faculty: student ratio is acceptable, nothing very extra-ordinary nor below average. Most of the faculty members have doctorates and are experts in their fields. Although all faculty members are experts in what they specialize in, some of them lack the skill of imparting that knowledge to fellow students. Term exams were conducted timely, it was relatively easy to pass if that's the only objective.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it is top 3 courses offered at IPU. This course(Ece) enables the student to appear both in tech companies and in core companies. Faculty to student ratio is decent. Each class is allotted its mentor. Our faculty mostly includes PhD holders in their respective fields and are quite knowledgeable. Their teaching method is subjective, some may like it and others don't, but if you put in only little much efforts yourself, then there will be no difficulty in understanding the subject. Exams are held semester-wise. There are 2 semesters each year. And one semester includes one internal paper and one external paper. Exams are usually not that difficult at our university. One can easily pass if one put in some effort.

Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology - [MAIT]: 100 answered questions

Ques
Is MAIT Delhi a good college to study CS? What are the placement stats? How good is the crowd there?

● Top Answer By Nimrit Kapoor on 16 Mar 23

Ans
When it comes to MAIT, it may not have the same coding environment as other colleges like MSIT or BVP. However, it is important to note that things are changing at MAIT, and there are opportunities for students to participate in coding competitions, Hackathons, Competitive Programming, Open Source, and more.  Availability of professors with research backgrounds is limited, and more could be done to expand opportunities for serious project work. The course curriculum at MAIT and IPU is outdated and may include subjects that are not directly relevant to CSE students. Placements at MAIT are strong, with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and Accenture visiting the campus. More than 80% of students get placed, with some students receiving offers as high as 42 LPA from Microsoft. It's important to note that many placements listed by others also include off-campus opportunities obtained through individual skills and efforts. CS and IT students shouldn't have to worry about the crowd, especially if in the first shift, as the current boys to girl ratio in IT is approximately 2:1.

Ques
What is the process of management quota admissions in MAIT, IPU?

● Top Answer By Srikant Mishra on 20 May 21

Ans
There are a total of about 12 seats in the first shift of management quota admissions in MAIT, IPU, and a total of about 6 seats in the second shift in each branch of management quota in MAIT.  In order to take up a management quota seat, you should have connections with any of the trustees of the college. Moreover, you must contact the college administrative block for more details.  In addition to that, you must keep visiting the college on a regular basis and visit the college's official website frequently in order to get updated for every information. The management quota seats are limited and almost get filled up faster in the month of July.

Ques
How does MAIT Delhi compare to lower-ranked goverment colleges?

● Top Answer By Shivangi Rautela on 14 Jun 21

Ans
You will get a friendly environment and culture to grow in MAIT. It doesn’t offer all the branches as lower-ranked government colleges. The culture here helps a student to develop the skills required after entering into the field. One of my friends, who pursued his engineering in the CSE branch from MAIT, told me that no other branch than CSE gives high placements when compared with IPU government colleges. This plays a major role in getting placed in top companies. Many of his seniors have cracked CAT and got into IIMs. It doesn’t matter from which college you are getting your degree, what matters is your goal and working hard to live it. There are many others, who have passed out from the government. colleges and are placed in top-notch companies. This happened because of the strong determination you have inside you. So just work hard and move on.

Ques
How is MAIT Delhi?

● Top Answer By Naman Gupta on 17 May 21

Ans
The college is situated near my home and I have often interacted with the students. The following points are clearly based on my experience with students:  Location: The nearest metro station is at Rithala from Rohini PSP, around 7 km away. You can go to Rithala if you wish to go to Metro Walk or City Centre Mall, etc. Societies: There aren’t that many active societies in the college, just the one called Ayaam which is the dramatics and funk in motion dance society. A lot of mechanical students prefer to take part in Jatayu but this is only available for students from 3rd year onwards. Apart from this, you will mostly be attending lectures non-stop. Sports: There is an indoor badminton court and a fitness centre that only hostellers can use. Most other sports are non-existent except the volleyball team. There is just a namesake sports week that takes place in the winter. Fest: MAIT’s fest has definitely improved over the past few years and these are the only 2-3 days of college you will enjoy the most. They do not attract big celebrities, but it is a start. Professors: You will find professors from both extremes, some ready to impart knowledge to students whereas others who won’t care. Crowd: The crowd is here is definitely better than that at IPU. The college canteen is also decent but food outside the campus is definitely better. Life: Your workload is not going to reduce in college, so if you are looking for respite, you won’t find it. There will be lab work, assignments and project files to submit. Moreover, IPU’s curriculum is easy to crack and has remained stagnant over the years. You will not find much growth here. NSIT, DTU, and IIIT are much better in this matter. If you are looking for college life, go to NSIT and DTU because life can get boring at MAIT. You will need to find friends who are willing to be there for you for your four years at MAIT otherwise it could get very boring.

Ques
How is MAIT?

● Top Answer By Shrimalti Tripuri on 28 Jul 21

Ans
If you want to simply study there, then you may enroll. The new faculty members might not be very efficient at teaching but the older ones are excellent in their subjects. The campus has a huge playground which is accessible only during the break. If you love natural, rustic surroundings, then you'd love what's outside the campus because it is situated amidst a rural community. There is no interaction between seniors and juniors all throughout the first year. However, if stay in the hostel then maybe you will get some of it. If you're looking forward to joining some extracurricular activities apart from the drama club and or a tech club, then to your disappointment you will notice that the crowd is too unenthusiastic but you might get used to it. If your future dreams include a CSE-based career then you can join MAIT because it's one of the best colleges in Delhi for it. If you need more options then, you can also go for Thapar's electronics/electrical program wherein the spot round you can choose between MAIT or USICT.

Ques
What should I choose between: IT in MAIT and CSE in MSIT?

● Top Answer By Sudesna Gupta on 17 May 21

Ans
MAIT and MSIT both are well-known colleges. Both of the colleges have good placements, faculties, and the right exposure for the students. However, it all comes down to you. If the subject is your preference then you should go for CSE because CSE is more preferable to IT. If placement and package are your preference then you should join MAIT since it is way better than MSIT in every way possible. Here’s a brief comparison of the two institutes.  Parameters  IT at MAIT  CSE at MSIT Average CTC 3.50 LPA 4 LPA Highest CTC 28 LPA 11.4 LPA Course Fee 5.73 lakhs 5.26 lakhs MAIT has better recognition than MSIT. More companies visit MAIT and recruit students with packages more than an MSIT student receives. CSE and IT branches have no major difference in curriculum and career choices are also almost the same so therefore the finalization comes down to colleges performance and status in which MAIT leads the way.

Ques
I am getting ECE in MAIT. What is the process to upgrade my seat to CSE in MSIT or MAIT?

● Top Answer By Sumit Mishra on 06 Jul 21

Ans
I have a friend from MAIT and he has better knowledge about the branch change at the institute. Here is what he had to say. If you want to upgrade your seat from one branch to another you need to work hard and get a good percentage(80+). Then only you will upgrade your seat. During or after the end term exams of the 2nd semester the university will release forms to change branches. After getting the form you have to fill in the details and submit the form to your college administration. Within the span of a week, the university will release the list of students' names who applied for the upgrade. Check your details if there is any mistake, consult the college administration. After a few days, the new list will be released by the university regarding the branch upgrade. Once your desired branch is upgraded, you should visit the dean of the college and he will discuss further formalities regarding the branch upgradation.

Ques
What should one choose between MAIT ECE and DTU civil?

● Top Answer By Akriti Jain on 23 Aug 22

Ans
You should choose DTU Civil. It offers better placement and exposure. DTU is among the leading technological institute in the country with a legacy of 50+ years. You can learn to code, irrespective of your branch. If you have decent coding skills, you can easily get decent job opportunities in the IT sector through campus placements. Your branch will not be an obstacle. DTU placements 2022 had witnessed the highest CTC of INR 1.2 Crore per annum.

Ques
How do these colleges compare: Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (IPU), and Maharaja Agrasen (IPU)?

● Top Answer By Vishal Nambiar on 14 Jun 21

Ans
One of my friends studied at Symbiosis, so I might be able to help you with the question. The campus is lovely, and in terms of life experience. There's no better college to associate with such a diverse group of people, including international exchange students as well. But, if you're concerned about your academics, then it’s a bitter truth for you. Most of the colleges in India only provide you with a syllabus and the rest is all self-study. Symbiosis is no exception. Though, if it's any consolation, the CSE placement scene is pretty decent in Symbiosis. Getting an internship is considerably easy here. Categories Symbiosis Institute of Technology Course Fee 6.75-10.6 lakh Placement Percentage 75-85% Highest CTC 22 LPA Average CTC 8-10 LPA Recruiting Companies Amazon, Google, Tech Mahindra, HCL, etc. If you want to live a joyful life, it takes a lot of effort to do it here. If you want to research and think college would support you, then that won’t happen. You won’t get any sort of support from the college. But Symbiosis will give you enough industrial exposure.

Ques
Is SMVDU better than MAIT IPU?

● Top Answer By Aditi Goyal on 23 Apr 21

Ans
Few of my friends attend SMVDU, so I can give you a brief idea about the institute. SMVDU is surrounded by hills, greenery and is situated away from the hubbub of the city. The university provides a good internet facility, good faculty, good infrastructure, etc. The university has different clubs for theatre, music, literature, photography, code, and robotics. Every department of the university organizes its own college fests. The fests are: Titiksha: This is a technical college fest for the B.Tech students. Artha: This fest is for the students who are pursuing MSC in Economics. There are other fests as well like the cultural fest Resurgence and the Sports fest Sarang. To know more about the institutes, you can visit the official websites.
