Which one is better: Thapar University or LNMIIT Jaipur?
Posted On - Aug 9, 2021Both LNMIIT and Thapar University are highly regarded institutes in the country. However, while choosing one over the other you would like to consider the following points.
Cutoff: LNMIIT cutoff is generally higher than Thapar University cutoff therefore it has a better crowd than Thapar University.
Fees: LNMIIT first year fees are ?3.75 Lakhs while that of Thapar University is ?4.61 Lakhs.
Location: Thapar University is situated in a better location right in the main town of Patiala whereas LNMIIT is located on the outskirts of Jaipur.
Legacy: Thapar is one of the oldest and most reputed institutes almost 60 years old while LNMIIT is comparatively new.

From the above table, it can be inferred that LNMIIT has a better placement scenario than Thapar University.
Overall, I will advise you to go for LNMIIT if you are getting CSE but for other branches, Thapar University is good.
LNMIIT Jaipur would be a better option than Thapar University. There are certain factors as to why I think so.
- Both of these institutes can’t be compared on the basis of the year of establishment as some institute proves their superiority within very few years.
- Any institute can’t be judged on the basis of age. For example, IIIT Delhi is just 8 years old but it is much better than LNMIIT and Thapar.
- Also, people often called Thapar a brand but in reality, only IITs or BITS are well known outside the county.
- LNMIIT often creates hype about their GSoC selections.
- The coding culture at LNMIIT is way better than at Thapar Institute.

If the student is inclined towards CSE, it is better to go somewhere with good coding cultures and receive good packages. Thapar Institute is increasing its number of seats every year, one may be lost in such a large student batch. You can look for more facts and talk to the student currently enrolled in both institutions.
