Placement Experience:

The highest placement offered by the college is above 1 cr. and the average package depends upon the branch. branches students get higher packages also upper branches students have a higher ratio of students getting placed in placement

Remarks:

Eligibility of the course: You need to be 12th pass with the PCM stream as well as you need to crack JEE exam conducted by NTA. Cut off the exam depends upon your category. especially lower category students get fee benefits as well as get good college at high rank. fee recession is also for those whose yearly income is below 5 lack and for those below lack After the JEE exam you need to register to register for counselling of colleges on Jossa in which 6 round occurs. after that, you can also apply for Csab counselling. all the data are being provided on Jossa's official website and on the NTA website. After allocation of college, you need to check college official website of the college for further information regarding admission.

The placement record of NIT Hamirpur is quite good. Students got the opportunity of on-campus placement. Big tech companies visit the company and hire students. Students got decent packages here. Even students cracked off-campus placements and got packages in crores.

Remarks:

the admission process for the college was that first I wrote the joint entrance exam (jee mains) and after the declaration of the result I registered for the josaa counselling where I filled in my choices of colleges as well as engineering branches. at each round of counselling, I got a seat in josaa and at last, I froze mathematics and computing of nit hamirpur.

Remarks:

A candidate has to clear the JEE MAINS test to get admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. JOSAA and CSAB conduct the counseling for the admissions in these institutes. A candidate can find the application form on the official website of NTA. There is a reservation policy for backward sections and economically weaker sections in IITs and NITs.

Placement Experience:

The placement is awesome as compared to nirf. Usually, some colleges have a good nirf rank but placements are not worth it. Our college has a 10.3 lpa is an average package. With a cse of 15 plus lpa average electrical engineering has 90%+ students placed. And cse highest is 173 lpa. And approximately 100 + companies were visiting every year.

Remarks:

Admission process via josaa counseling by jee mains exam. If I tell you the ranking required for electrical engineering is nearly equal to 25000 onwards for the general category and 28000 onwards for the obc category for boys. The josaa and csab are the main counseling board that conducts admissions in these colleges. I got my application form from my allotted college website.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose civil engineering because in Himachal Pradesh there is a good scope for getting a government job as a civil engineer. The faculty-student ratio is 1 teacher per 40 students. Faculty have good qualifications but teaching is not very good. I had a hard time understanding concepts from teachers and studied on YouTube most of the time. Mid-term exams are conducted after 2.5 months and end term a month after mid-term. It is not very hard to pass the exams. Most of the students pass exams just by studying 1 week before exams.

Remarks:

I took admission to Nit Hamirpur by qualifying for Jee Mains and then applied for JOSAA counseling. The procedure was simple, every piece of information related to forms or dates was uploaded on the NITH website. I availed the benefit of my home state quota which is 50%. I scored a percentile of 93.7 and got civil engineering. No, I did not seek any improvement in the admission process, everything was fine.

Remarks:

One has to pass jee main entrance exam with good percentile to get admission in Nit Hamirpur. Around 35000 rank is required to secure a seat in the Electrical Branch for the Obc category. Jossa and csab are the main bodies that conduct counselling to give admission in nit and iits. There are 50% of seats reserved for home state students and 50% for another state students. Some seats are reserved for ST and sc students. relaxation in fee is also given on the basis of the income of the family.

Keeping in mind the academic environment and placement statistics, the following should be the preferences:

CSE at NIT Hamirpur, IIIT Jabalpur, NIT Jalandhar, and IIIT Kancheepuram.

ECE at NIT Hamirpur, ECE at NIT Jalandhar, IIIT Kancheepuram, and then IIIT Jabalpur.

Choose a college with a broadband internet connection in the hostels for CSE. In general, the faculty at all of these colleges will be mediocre, and you will be forced to rely on the internet for your education. Once the CSE and hostel broadband requirements have been met, consider which college is closer to home, near a city, and not in a country where you do not speak the native language.

NIT Silchar is one of the top engineering colleges in India. Recently in NIRF Ranking by MHRD, NIT Silchar holds 46th rank among best engineering Institutes in the country.

My brother is from NIT Silchar and this is the best thing that ever happened to him. But also every institute has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Pros:

  • Weather: Pristine green and calm climate, No pollution, Beautiful lakes, and amazing tea gardens.
  • Professors: The teachers here are extremely friendly. They will advise you on your future choices and point you in the right direction.
  • Other Activities: Apart from your academics, you have the freedom to explore your hobbies or create new ones, develop other skills, go on a tour to nearby amazing places like Mizoram, Shillong, Sikkim, Twang, and so on.
  • Internet: The best thing among all facilities is unlimited internet access. Many colleges have high-speed internet, but they do not provide unlimited access without a time limit.
  • Placement: Many notable companies visit the campus every year for good placements like Samsung, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Flour Daniell, Snapdeal, Gammon, BPCL, HPCL, Reliance JIO, etc.
  • Start-up Culture: NIT Silchar has recently established a startup center under the Government of India to promote entrepreneurship among students and in surrounding areas, with the goal of being a Job Creator rather than a Job Seeker.
  • Festivals and Celebrations: All the festivals are celebrated on college campuses like Diwali, Bihu, Holi, etc. This college also organize cultural fests every year such as the Technical festival — Tecnoesis, Cultural festival, Incandescence and Posua, Management festival, Paarbon, Innovation festival.

Cons:

  • In-time for girls: Girls are not allowed to go out after 8 P. M.
  • Food: Be it mess or canteens or restaurants in the city you will crave good food. People will tell you about a few restaurants for their amazing food, but they will not tell you about their food serving time. But if you have Subway on your campus then there is no problem.

I hope my answer is helpful to you.

When I asked a senior of mine the same question, she told me to exclude NIT Raipur. The reason is, NIT Raipur is one of the newer institutes and to be considered worthy, the institute has to improve a lot.

The other two institutes, however, would be a tough call.

My senior said BIT Mesra is slightly ahead of NIT Hamirpur just because the former has been around for much longer than the latter.

Despite all that, NIT Hamirpur is located in pleasant surroundings. In addition to that, it will also give you the NIT tag and is an INI. So, in the case of comparison by merit, it all depends on who has the higher cut-off in a particular session.

NIT Hamirpur is also a new NIT and it is improving with each day. On the other hand, the quality of education, placements in the electrical branch of NIT Raipur are going down with each passing day.

Because the departments are the same, here are some details about the colleges:

  1. Location: As you are aware, NITJ is located in Jalandhar, which is close to two major cities in Punjab (Amritsar & Ludhiana). As a result, connectivity is better than in Hamirpur, Himachal. Nature lovers, on the other hand, would prefer Hamirpur to Jalandhar.
  2. Campus: NITJ has a 170-acre campus, whereas NIT Hamirpur has 320+ acres of lush greenery and hills surrounding it. In comparison to Jalandhar, Hamirpur has the better infrastructure (though new modern buildings are being constructed in NITJ, which boost the infrastructure of the campus in the coming few years)
  3. Department: The ECE department at NITJ is located in the main block, also known as the Gool building, and the faculty is excellent and dedicated, willing to assist you at any time and out of the way if approached. When it comes to placement, it is excellent, almost on par with cs placements. The crowd in NITJ is very good, but if you don't want to miss out on nature and infrastructure, Hamirpur is always your heaven.

As a result, with a slight advantage in infrastructure and recent rankings, NIT Hamirpur would be a better choice.

My brother is from PEC Chandigarh, so I might be able to share some facts with you. Some important factors regarding placements of PEC include the following:

  • PEC has an academic policy that requires you to complete a 6-month internship in an industry or a research laboratory during the fifth semester. It strengthens the industry-academia relationship while also securing good PPO. This policy does not apply to NITs.
  • PEC's alumni-institution relationship is one-of-a-kind because of its long history. Try to construct it at NITH so that in upcoming days it'll be fruitful.
  • A dedicated Career Development and Guidance Cell (former TPO) is required to contact and invite large corporations to the campus.
  • With the practical approach to teaching and the freedom to participate in extracurricular activities, PEC students have a lower academic load than NITH students.
  • The final but most important factor is the ability (not to be confused with talent) that the students develop here being a part of a club or society.

Above all, study hard to gain good core knowledge, use your nit tag, and try to land good off-campus placement offers. This will certainly change the atmosphere on campus and your college's image in the eyes of industry. The change will come gradually with time.

My friends have been studying in both NIT Hamirpur and PEC Chandigarh and according to their first-hand experience, PEC Chandigarh holds an edge. Here’s why:

  • It lies in a prime location viz. Chandigarh. The city has better and numerous opportunities. It is an education hub in the North, hence making it easier to plan and implement your higher education goals. There are ample coaching centers as well in case you want to prepare for government exams.
  • PEC has better placement and internship options as well, again it is due to the location advantage.

NSIT/DTU is far better than NIT Hamirpur for CSE.

Be it academics, placement, research culture, peer group, exposure, etc. NSIT/DTU will offer better opportunities. These two institutes also have a locational advantage. Due to the favorable location, you can easily get good exposure in the CSE domain. NSIT and DTU both will offer you plenty of opportunities. However, many students prefer NSIT for their small student intake.

It is unfair to compare IIIT Allahabad with NIT Hamirpur. If you take a look at the closing cutoff for IIIT Allahabad and NIT Hamirpur, the difference will be clear.

If you have the option to choose IIIT Allahabad, go for it without giving it a second thought. Now if you clear the cutoff for IT at IIIT A, you will be eligible for ECE as well.

Here is a brief comparison of IIIT Allahabad and NIT Hamirpur.

Before selecting among institutes, you should decide which branch to opt for. As per the question asked, you must have an interest in both EE and CSE at the two specified institutes.

The points followed will give certain guidelines, based on which you can come to a conclusion.

  • CSE has a much better placement opportunity in the private sector all over India. But for electrical engineers, there is a good scope in the government sector.
  • Considering the reputation of institutes, NIT Hamirpur is a much better institute than IIIT Vadodara.
  • In NIT Hamirpur, the alumni base is obviously much stronger than that of IIIT Vadodara.
  • The campus life too is much better in NIT H. The only disadvantage is its location with no direct access to the city. On the other hand, Vadodara is a well-established city with proper communication to other cities. But, Hamirpur is not as bad a location as Mandi, and so is somewhat accessible.
  • NIT Hamirpur has one of the most beautiful campuses in India. So, the four years of engineering are very spent inside the campus of NIT H. No one regrets being on the campus by any means.

Considering the above points, it can be deduced that EE at NIT Hamirpur is a better option, having a better college reputation and good campus life.
