WBJEEB will release two distinct merit lists on the basis of papers and marks scored by candidates:
General Merit List: GMR is produced based on the aggregate scores secured both in paper 1 and paper 2 together.
Admission will be granted all to all Engineering, Technology, Architecture courses and Pharmacy course in Jadavpur University will be done based on General Merit List only.
Pharmacy Merit List: PMR is prepared purely based on scores obtained in paper 2- has Physics and Chemistry only.
Admission will be granted to all pharmacy courses except in Jadavpur University based on Pharmacy Merit List.
Candidates appearing in both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will obtain both GMR and PMR whereas the candidates appearing in Paper 2 will be issued PMR only.
In addition to that, WBJEEB releases separate reserved category-wise merit positions for SC, ST, OBC categories.
Not to forget counselling, seat allotment and admission will be done based on GMR and PMR and not on category ranks.
Candidates appearing in both the papers of WBJEE 2020 will receive GMR and PMR if they obtain marks equal and above WBJEE cutoff as decided by WBJEEB. Candidates appearing in Paper 2 will be just allotted a PMR rank.
WBJEE cutoff score or rank will be announced by the board soon after the results are released.
Each participating college of WBJEE releases distinct cut-off lists for different courses.
The authority releases an answer key right after the examination is over.
The results will be declared online, and candidates can check their results by logging into the web portal.
Results will be released in the form of a rank card displaying the rank scored by the candidates in the exam.
Candidates who hold a rank will be invited for counselling. They undergo the counselling process where a seat will be allocated to them in a college based on the rank secured, and the number of seats allotted for that course.
Reserved seats are available for specified categories as per the norms of the concerned institution or state government of West Bengal.
