Another option available on the same screen for canceling the score. To view, the candidates need to click on the “REPORT” option and to cancel the scores, they need to clock on “CANCEL.”

Once the candidates click on the report option, they will be able to view the scores of GRE quantitative reasoning and GRE verbal reasoning sections.

Yes, the scores of the main sections of GRE will be available in the unofficial score report. To obtain the score of GRE analytical writing section, the candidates need to wait for the official GRE score report.

Special Note: GRE Unofficial Score Reports are available only for computer-delivered GRE. The candidates of paper-delivered GRE have to wait for the official score reports. For GRE General Test, the unofficial scorecard can be received on the test day.

What is the Purpose of GRE Unofficial Score?

GRE is an exam for the graduate courses or the higher-level courses. Therefore, it is quite natural that the exam will not be very easy. The test-takers take the preparations for GRE for months; yet, some of the candidates fail to secure the sufficient or expected score in GRE and fail to get enrolled in their desired programs in their desired scores.

This is why a number of test-takers decide to retake GRE with better preparation. Unofficial scores of GRE help them to decide it earlier. In case, there was no option to view the score of GRE quant and GRE verbal earlier, the test-takers had to wait for the official scores for 10-15 days. For the paper-based GRE, the official score can be obtained after 5 weeks.

In addition to that, the score range of GRE quantitative section is 130-170 with 1 point increment. The score range is sane for GRE verbal section. The contribution of these two sections is equal to the overall GRE score. GRE analytical writing section is scored on a scale of 0-6 with a half-point increment. So, knowing the score of GRE quant and verbal can help the test-takers to estimate their overall GRE score and decide whether they should retake GRE or not.

    Cost of GRE Unofficial Scorecard

On the test day, the GRE test-takers can get the unofficial scorecards absolutely free. Not just that!

The candidates can order up to 4 score reports free which can be automatically sent to their chosen schools once the official scores are available. After the test day, the candidates need to pay for ordering their GRE scorecards.

Difference Between Unofficial and Official GRE Score

GRE unofficial score reports are undoubtedly an excellent tool for the test-takers to get the results immediately after completing the test. However, a number of candidates are willing to know whether the unofficial score and official score are the same or not. We have found the answer as well.

The official GRE score and the unofficial GRE score may have a slight difference – the score of analytical writing assessment will make the difference. In the official scorecard, the overall GRE score will be calculated based on the score of all 3 sections. But in the unofficial one, you will only get the score based on the correct answers marked during the test.

So, the score may change but that change will be negligible.

Why Analytical Writing Assessment Score is not Given in the Unofficial GRE Score Report?

Analytical writing assessment of GRE is like a descriptive task and the score of this section takes time to be processed. The essays of this task are scored after thorough checking. That is why the score of this section are not available

On the other side, the questions of GRE quant and GRE verbal are MCQ types and the correct answers to the questions are recorded previously. As soon as a candidate completes a test, the system can easily generate the score obtained in these two sections based on the number of correct answers given by the examinees.

So, yes, GRE unofficial score report is an incomplete report but it is definitely very helpful for the test-takers.

GRE Unofficial Score – Recommended or Not?

There is no second thought that GRE unofficial score is a useful tool and we recommend all the test-takers to avail the unofficial GRE scorecard. Sometimes, waiting for the official scorecard of GRE seems like a great deal because the application deadlines in the universities are nearby. In this matter, GRE unofficial scorecard is like a savior.

With GRE unofficial scorecard, the candidates can determine their scores in two main sections of GRE. In case, the score is not sufficient, they can develop a mindset that they have to reappear for the exam before the admission deadline and they get the chance to prepare with the utmost attention. From this perspective, it is always recommended to view the unofficial score of GRE on the test day. Plus, the candidates do not need to pay for it – so getting it is mandatory.

GRE scores are essential to get qualified in the graduate-level courses across the world. The unofficial scores on the test day help the candidates to predict their overall scores before they get the official one. So, the candidates, irrespective of their preparation, must view the unofficial GRE score either confirm their eligibility in the world’s best universities or to decide for a retake.

Ans. In case you are enquiring about the CAT percentile let me clarify that ISB Hyderabad does not take into consideration CAT scores. It accepts GMAT/GRE scores only. Most importantly, the ISB Shortlisting process is profile-based. This means even with a lower percentile you can manage to get shortlisted provided you have an excellent profile. There is no fixed cutoff for GMAT. However, a 700+ GMAT score isn't a must-have for ISB if your application is strong in other areas. According to an ISB spokesperson, candidates were admitted to the 2021 cohort with scores as low as 580, and as high as 780. So the GMAT score range for ISB is 580-780. Read more

Ans. Of the two entrance exams, GMAT and GRE, the former is a better option. ISB Hyderabad has recently started accepting GRE scores. This doesn’t mean that taking the GRE is a bad idea. Many business schools apart from ISB are now accepting GRE scores. The best part is that ISB won’t be converting your GRE scores to GMAT for comparison during the MBA admissions. GRE is suitable for students who are considering other PG options apart from MBA like MS or MA.  For someone who is sure of their career in an MBA, the GMAT is a better choice because GRE is much more dynamic. GMAT shows your commitment to MBA and thereby increases your chances of admission in comparison to GRE which shows that you are open to various options. ISB Hyderabad prefers GMAT over GRE also because the former is a more quantitatively challenging exam than the latter.  Certain firms may ask for your GMAT score before shortlisting you for your interview. These include the biggest firms in the corporate world like McKinsey So from these points, we can safely conclude that GMAT is a better option for MBA students provided that you are sure of your course.
