Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission 2023: Registration Process (Started), Exam Dates (OUT), Counseling, Results, Top Colleges

Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission is conducted by the CEE, Kerala. To seek admission to the BSc Agriculture Course in Kerala, candidates must qualify for the state-level entrance exam followed by a counselling session.  

Kerala BSc Agriculture admission is done based on the KEAM entrance exam. KEAM 2023 registrations are ongoing from March 18 – April 10, 2023. The KEAM 2023 will be conducted to offer Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission on May 17, 2023.

BSc Agriculture is a four-year-long course in Kerala. There is a mandatory internship in the last semester of the course. Currently, there are four colleges in Kerala offering BSc in Agriculture.

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations has not announced the date for the commencement of form filling or any other date such as entrance exam date, result date, counselling date, etc.

Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission 2023: Eligibility

To be eligible for admission, the candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with 50% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry and biology.
  • Candidates must be at least 17 years old to apply for KEAM 2023 and seek Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission 2023
  • The applicant must be a citizen and a permanent resident of India to apply for Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission.
  • Persons of Indian Origin and Overseas Citizens of India can also seek Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission based on KEAM 2023.

Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission Process 2023

  • Candidates must apply for Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission online. 
  • Visit the official website @cee.kerala.gov.in
  • Login and Register with valid credentials. Fill out the online application form with the required details.
  • Pay the necessary application fee. The application fee for general candidates is INR 700 and INR 300 for SC/ST candidates.
  • Upload your signature and necessary documents.
  • Take a print out of the form for future reference.

Kerala BSc Agriculture Admission 2023: Exam Pattern

  • The candidates need to qualify for the KEAM examination. The exam has 3 sections, physics, chemistry and biology. The exam follows the given pattern:
  • The physics section consists of 45 questions of four marks each.
  • The chemistry section consists of 45 questions of four marks each.
  • The biology section consists of 90 questions, 45 questions from zoology and the remaining from botany. Each question is of four marks each.
  • There is a deduction of one mark in case the candidate selects the wrong answer.

Ques. Is the internship included in the course duration?

Ans. BSc Agriculture is a 4 year undergraduate course.

Ques. What are the eligibility criteria for the KEAM exam?

Ans. To be eligible to appear for KEAM, a candidate of general category must have completed 10+2 with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English as main subjects. The student must obtain an aggregate of 50% in these subjects to be eligible. There is a 10% relaxation in the aggregate score for SC/ST students.

Ques. Can I appear for KEAM if I only know Malayali?

Ans. KEAM is conduted only in English.

The syllabus of B.Sc. Agriculture at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) comprises of the following:

  • 25 Ques from Mental Ability + 25 Ques from Chemistry (compulsory for all the streams).
  • 50 Ques including Zoology and Botany (for biology students).
  • 25 Ques from Physics and  25 Ques from Maths (for Mathematics students).
  • 50 Ques from Agriculture (for agriculture students).

Preparation Tips:

  • Mental Ability section is mainly based on previous years papers. Most of the questions are repeated.
  • For Chemistry, it includes areas of Organic, Inorganic and Physical.
    • For Organic, you must have knowledge of the mechanism of basic reactions of addition, substitution, elimination with popular named reactions like Cannizaro, Williamson, Wurtz, OMDM, HBO etc.
    • Inorganic has basic trends of periodic table, Solubility, thermal decomposition. Chemical bonding and coordination.
    • For Physical, revise all the basic questions of equilibrium, electrochemistry, Solubility, Surface Chemistry, Chemical kinetics, Thermodynamics and Mole Concept.
  • For Biology, read class 11th and 12th NCERT Books. Study plant diversity, animal Diversity, Human and Plant Physiology.

The exam is around 2 hours so the paper is not difficult or lengthy. Negative marking is there so make sure the answers are accurate. Your basic knowledge acquired by revising and practicing mental ability questions will be determined.
