Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology: 5 answered questions

Ques
I read in some posts that IVRI is not good enough for UG for the best skills, but it is good for PG and research only. They said that TANUVAS, GB Pant, GADVASU, etc. are good UG. Is it true?

● Top Answer By Preet Roy on 14 Sept 21

Ans
If talking about IVRI, then there are over 240 scientists conducting research work in different fields. Here are some important facts that you may find useful: If these are the same candidates, pursuing several research projects and academic activities in the PG course, then they also do the same for UG courses as well.  Mainly, the reason behind this is the clinic was extended and also offered several amenities when the UG courses were first introduced in IVRI. The infrastructure of IVRI is well established.  One of my friends, who belonged from the Physiology department once mentioned having access to over 17 microscopes for a student limit of around 24. The fee program of IVRI is minimal, with the provision of a variety of scholarship options.  The hostels, library, and mess are equally satisfactory. There are no strict restrictions imposed upon students.  During your stay, you will be part of having a great exposure, while still greatly having access to each lab and scientists conducting research works. Every batch has maintained the legacy of the institute by evidently showcasing better results each time.  There are several students who secured good scores in the JRF exams, while a few students obtained seats in IVRI again through AIQ ICAR.  One of the seniors has recently also established a successful startup after acquiring a grant of 30 lacs from IVRI itself.  There are students who also recently qualified for the Rajasthan VO examination by both securing high scores in the written test and exams other than that.  Along the lines, some of the seniors are also using Agribusiness with a salary of almost INR 50,000 per month.  It is one of the best institutes to pursue a UG course likewise. Thus, make an informed decision after analyzing every detail.

Ques
Which is better for a B.Sc. in agriculture BHU or GBPUAT Pantnagar?

● Top Answer By Arpita Mukharjee on 19 Jul 22

Ans
BHU Agriculture will be a better option. The university offers a great bachelor's program in Agriculture. It offers good career opportunities and a competitive environment. BHU placements are pretty good for Agriculture. Fertilizer companies, dairy companies, and NGOs visit the campus drive for placements. Geolife, Patanjali, Advanta, etc. are among the major recruiters. Students receive salary packages of around INR 7 LPA.

Ques
How should I prepare for the GBPUAT UG entrance exam?

● Top Answer By Tarun Palit, on 01 Nov 21

Ans
One of my friends studied at GBPUAT Pantnagar. Let me share his preparation method which might give you a clear idea. You can easily crack this exam with good marks if you have a clear knowledge of 11th and 12th standard. Common sense and general understanding will also be important factors as 50 questions are from general aptitude. This exam is of a very fundamental nature, you would easily get 85-90? marks if you have good aptitude skills. Time management is a crucial factor so try to answer maximum questions with accuracy. Prepare well from your school books, you must be able to solve more than 90% of the questions. For analytical reasoning and logical questions, common sense is more than enough.  It is one of the most prestigious universities in India and the best for agriculture courses. Their exam has multiple parts: logical reasoning, basic Hindi, basic English, mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry. The difficulty level of the paper is not very high but because of limited seats, it becomes competitive.

Ques
What is the condition of the girls hostel in GBPUAT Pantnagar?

● Top Answer By Arpita Joshi, on 01 Nov 21

Ans
The condition of the girl’s hostel is above average. It is said to be better than other government institutions.  The food is quite decent. Hostel rooms come with cupboards, beds, and study tables. WiFi facility is also available in some hostels.  Washrooms are to be shared but once you get used to it, blending in becomes easy. So relax as you are going to have a great time at Pantnagar's hostel.

Ques
Which is better in terms of a better study environment, academic quality and faculty GBPUAT Pantnagar or GBPEC Pauri Garhwal?

● Top Answer By Rajesh Sharma, on 01 Nov 21

Ans
It is recommended that you do not opt for GBPEC Pauri. Here are some reasons why: It lacks basic life amenities and you won't be able to get proper medical facilities.  Availability of water will be a big problem. The hygiene level of mess and hostels here is extremely low. The faculty and quality of education are not at par with GBPUAT or even DIT. GBPUAT Pantnagar is a better college than GBPEC Pauri in terms of infrastructure, location, and faculty. The administration is suffering from internal politics and no attention is given to student grievances. You can rather go for DIT or GEU Dehradun which will provide a comparatively better environment and facilities.
