The placement system is updated nowadays. We have a different placement cell team to contact the recruiter. And offline campusing are alap there. Out of 65 more than 50 people are working for different companies like TCS, INFOSYA, CAPGEMINI, COGNIGENT etc.
By appearing at WBJEE after counseling I got the opportunity to join. HS passed with 60% min marks it will help in the placement process also Online form fill up in WBJEE website Yes OBC category applied during counselling
Read Full ReviewFrom class 11 I love physics and mechanics that's why I chose the Mechanical Engineering course. Faculties are highly qualified and very efficient. Student student-teacher ratio is 5:1. There was 4 internal exam and one final semester exam, the exams were not so hard but if you want to get a good cgpa then you have to work hard.
After giving a wbjee any student who got a rank upto 15k can get into this college, you have to pass 12th with science and a valid wbjee rank card then you have to join a counseling program through wbjee website and fill in your choice. If you get your choice then the allotment would be done and you have been given a particular time period to get admission to that college.

there is an exam called wbjee to get admission into the top govt and private engineering colleges in west Bengal to write the exam you should complete your class 12th in science with physics chemistry and maths as compulsory subjects after scoring a good rank in wbjee exam you will get good colleges after scoring a good rank you will apply for the counseling process to get your own choice of college with your own choice of stream.

Both PGEC and NIT Sikkim are very good colleges. But choosing NIT Sikkim will be a better choice as it is a national level college and is much better than PGEC. Being a student of NIT Sikkim, I can assure you that it will be a good choice.
- NIT Sikkim is one of the leading NITs among all other NITs and has immense popularity around the nation.
- The faculty members are very talented and well experienced.
- They also have a diverse student population.
- All the students have cleared the national level entrance exam to get admission to this college so they are very good with academics too.
- The placements of this college are very good as most of the top companies visit the campus for interviews.
- The only drawback of NIT Sikkim is that it doesn't have a permanent campus yet. But this problem won't have any negative impact on your studies as the faculty and academics of this college are excellent.

Hence, NIT Sikkim is a very good college to pursue engineering courses and its academic and placement scenario are much better than any other state-level or private college.
A senior of mine who was a student of Purulia Government Engineering College has strictly advised me not to apply for this college.
His reasons for this suggestion are listed below:
- The college was under construction when he was a student. Most of the labs of the college were underdeveloped. Even school labs are better off than the ones of the college.
- The total construction budget of the college is 36 crores which is very less when it comes to engineering colleges. The annual budget of colleges like Kalyani Government College and Jalpaiguri College is much higher than that of Purulia Engineering College.
- The college is in a remote location which can also be a hindrance for both students both current and hopeful.
- There is no internship and in all probability, no placement.
- For coaching for GATE exams, you’ll have to travel to Kolkata which can be as long as 8 hours.
If you have got Jadavpur University, IEM, KGEC (CSE, IT, ECE), then you should stop thinking about Purulia as those institutes are some of the best.
Jalpaiguri, GCECT, GCELT, or any other government college is also a very good choice. You can also join Techno or Heritage depending on your ranking.
My senior made the mistake of joining Purulia Government Engineering College. Even if you have joined already, don’t quit working hard. The future is unpredictable.
