Most DU institutions are on a similar footing. But Ramjas is regarded to be superior in most areas. Apart from similar academics to KMC, Ramjas College has one of the best cultural events. Its focus is on the holistic development of students.
With time, the value of these colleges is diminishing as cut-offs are getting competitive, and the quality of students is spreading more evenly. However, Ramjas is the best if you want to challenge yourself.
One of my friends graduated from this college, and her experience was utopian. Here are some of the things that she mentioned about the institute.
A few of the things that bothered my friend were the non-cooperative administration, the college timing, and the politically engaged crowd.
There is nothing much that happens on the orientation day is light. Orientation starts with an introduction to the college, its facilities, and the faculty interaction. As you go to college, you will get the classrooms. Your faculties will come and introduce themselves with their subjects. They will keep the session interactive by asking about your goals.
The seniors might also visit to interact for healthy engagements. There is no ragging culture. The overall orientation tenure is about one hour. It’s also a good way to make new friends.
For a BCom (H), Venky will be a better option. It has a better faculty base. The student crowd is also engaging. Kirori Mal is a decent college but it is more reputed for its science subjects. While Ramjas is more well-known for its Arts courses. For B.Com, Venky is the best among these institutes.
Choose KMC or Ramjas college over SBSC because these are better options. When it comes to academics KMC and Ramjas are definitely better than SBSC. There are reasons why the required cutoff for these colleges is more than SBSC. KMC and Ramjas also have better rankings. Many times these colleges were featured among the top 10 colleges in India. Also, if you want to pursue higher studies like M.A in Economics from DSE, then being from DSE will help. As the student crowd is more competitive at the north campus.
Hindu>Kirori Mal>Hansraj>Ramjas
The required cutoff for North campus colleges is usually higher than the south campus colleges. You can choose the college based on your cutoff.
It is one of the best colleges of Delhi University. Apparently, there isn't a hostel for girls, except that it's the same for both boys and girls.
Everything is wonderful, from academics to the availability of necessary facilities. Except for the lack of a girls' hostel. Otherwise, it's a fantastic college for both boys and girls.
One of my friends studied at Kirori Mal College (KMC). According to him, they have a really diverse crowd. Students from all backgrounds study here. Students here are dedicated to their studies and also enthusiastic about participating in clubs and societies, so you will see how beautifully they balance both of these.
If you want to explore the college whether it is Politics, extracurricular activities, or studies, you should join any of the societies in KMC. The crowd overall is fine. There are very few chances of ragging and all the credits for this go to elections of the student union.
KMC is best for your overall development, participating in societies and politics it will help explore the leader in you.
According to the reviews online, both Kirori Mal and Hansraj are best in their own unique way. Here are some facts about them you should know.
Choose the college after carefully considering every factor like faculty, alumni, placements, etc.
Both Ramjas College and Kirori Mal College are quite reputed colleges. There are no such parameters to differentiate between these two. Both of these two institutes have good faculty bases. You will also get decent facilities to learn at these colleges.
The only significant factor that can be mentioned is that Kirori Mal has a NAAC A+ accreditation with a better grade as compared to Ramjas. However, it’s not wise to compare these two institutes based on grade. You will have decent opportunities at both. So, you can opt for any of these two based on your convenience.
