Dyal Singh College - [DSC]: 10 answered questions

Ques
Which is better: Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Sri Guru Gobind College or Dyal Singh College for a B.Com programme?

● Top Answer By Sidharth Dua on 13 Jan 22

Ans
According to the reviews online, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSCC) is a very well maintained institution. They have a proper infrastructure with a good faculty and student crowd. Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) is also academically a good institute.  It is suggested that you do not go for Dyal Singh College (DSC) but opt for anyone among the other two mentioned. Between SGGSCC and SBSC make your choice based on the location. If you belong to South Delhi, Noida or Gurgaon, then choose SBSC. If you are from any other part of Delhi choose SGGSCC.  If you are from an outstation choose SGGSCC as overall living cost in North Delhi is cheaper than South Delhi and you can also stay near North Campus which will help you interact with a much more diverse set of people.

Ques
Is Dyal Singh College better than Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College?

● Top Answer By Utsav Kumar on 26 Nov 21

Ans
Dyal Singh College (DSC) is a really good college. The cut offs for Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College (DDUC) for B.Com (Hons) is higher than DSC.  SC has one of the best locations in India. It is situated in Lodhi road which is considered to be the most expensive residence. It is close to Khan market which is the most expensive market in india.  It is behind the JLN Stadium, which has the closest metro station.  The campus of DSC is huge and spacious. The infrastructure is maintained and taken care of almost every year. They have a better faculty than DDUC. Lastly, it is advised that you choose the college on the basis of a course you want to pursue. At last you will realize that college hardly matters. Because during placements your skills will make you stand out and not the college name.

Ques
Which is a better option B.Sc. Maths (Hons) from Dyal Singh College (morning) or from Rajdhani College (morning)?

● Top Answer By Nikhil Suri, on 24 Nov 21

Ans
Among Dyal Singh College (DSC) (morning) and Rajdhani College (morning), students usually prefer DSC rather than Rajdhani. This is due to the following reasons: Mathematics at DSC is said to be the best in Delhi. They have faculty members with more than 40 years of educational experience. They are cooperative and will guide you through the subject's tougher portions. The overall infrastructure and maintenance of the campus has improved a lot. The college canteen provides healthy food items at a reasonable price. Here you will be learning amongst some of the best minds. The only thing that needs some improvement is the internet connection. The whole campus is wifi enabled but has several connectivity issues. The placement is also good. They have a dedicated placement cell as well. The science group in DSC is considered to be one of the best. They provide proper training and exposure which will ultimately help your career.

Which is better for a B.Com (hons.) Shaheed Bhagat Singh or Dyal Singh College?

● Top Answer By Shreya Sharma on 13 Jan 22

Ans
Among the mentioned two colleges, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) will be a better choice for B.Com (Hons.).  It is well known for its commerce courses.  It is considered the best commerce college of Delhi University.  B.Com is really good here with proper academics and placement records. Categories B.Com at SBSC B.Com at DSC Course Fee INR 23,000 INR 27,000 Placement Percentage 80-90% 78% Highest CTC 15 LPA 20 LPA Average CTC 8 LPA 4.8 LPA Recruiting Companies KPMG, Wipro, JSW, BYJU's etc. TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, etc. Dyal Singh College (DSC) is good but when compared to SBSC, it is more of a second option for commerce students after SBSC.

Ques
Which college should I choose for History (hons) Dyal Singh College or Delhi College of Arts and Commerce?

● Top Answer By Swati Arora, on 25 Nov 21

Ans
It is suggested that you go for Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC) rather than Dyal Singh College (DSC). Here are some reasons why: If you want a college with better infrastructure and canteen opt for DSC.  On the other hand DCAC provides excellent Extra-curricular activities, societies, clubs, placements and overall exposure. The faculty of both the colleges are good. DSC is better in B.A subjects but not economics. DCAC has better connectivity. It is near to metro stations on the yellow line and pink line. Whereas DSC is only close to JLN stadium metro station on the violet line. Neither of the two colleges offer hostel facilities.  But it is easier to find accommodation near DCAC than to DSC. Accommodation near DCAC is also affordable. Therefore overall DCAC is a much better choice. But in the end it depends on individual preference. Try visiting both the colleges, explore, talk to the alumni or faculty members, if possible and then take the decision.

Ques
What college is better for a B.Com (Hons) course among Dyal Singh, Sri Guru Gobind, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa, or Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma?

● Top Answer By Priyam Kumar, on 16 Nov 21

Ans
All the mentioned colleges are good in their own way. But it is important to know the college is not important but your approach towards your course. B.Com (Hons.) is a very prestigious course and it demands a great deal of dedication and concentration. Getting admission to any of these colleges means that your interest is genuine. Consider enrolling yourself into any of the professional courses also as the syllabus for professional courses and B.Com (Hons) are quite similar. Go for ICWA due to the fact that it does not have the requirement of articles. These 3 years in college will shape up your career ahead. If you score good marks and understand all the concepts and are truly invested in the subject, then after a while the college name would not matter, as your skills and knowledge will be given more precedence.

Lodhi Gardens, Safdarjung Tomb, Humayun Tomb, Indian Habitat Centre, Khan Market, and many other tourist attractions surround the college. 2) MASSIVE CAMPUS Dyal Singh College has the largest campus and building of any south campus college, with a large student body. Yes, you will always discover new places within the college to hang out with your friends, even after graduation.  3) YUMMY SNACK POINTS You'll find some amazing food joints right outside the college's entrance. The famous "LOVE DI HATTI" and "MAGGI POINT" will never disappoint you.
