Admission in the university was taken on the basis of CUET scores, you can find it on samarth.gov.in. The application fee was around 1200. The admission process was quite good if there is any need for it, it is about the document verification that usually takes a lot of time.

Sidharth Dua

13 Jan 22B.Com hons. from Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, University of Delhi (2022)

According to the reviews online, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSCC) is a very well maintained institution. They have a proper infrastructure with a good faculty and student crowd. Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) is also academically a good institute.

It is suggested that you do not go for Dyal Singh College (DSC) but opt for anyone among the other two mentioned.

Between SGGSCC and SBSC make your choice based on the location. If you belong to South Delhi, Noida or Gurgaon, then choose SBSC. If you are from any other part of Delhi choose SGGSCC.

If you are from an outstation choose SGGSCC as overall living cost in North Delhi is cheaper than South Delhi and you can also stay near North Campus which will help you interact with a much more diverse set of people.

If you are trying to decide between Dyal Singh College and Deshbandhu College, there are a few things to consider before making your final decision. Here are some points to keep in mind:

  • Location and Connectivity: Dyal Singh College is located in a more central area of Delhi and is well-connected by public transport. On the other hand, Deshbandhu College is located in a relatively more remote area of Kalkaji, which may not be as convenient for students.
  • Academics: Dyal Singh College and Deshbandhu College are highly regarded for their academic programs. However, Dyal Singh College has a more diverse range of courses and programs, including a highly reputed Honours program in various subjects.
  • Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, both colleges have decent facilities, including well-equipped libraries, computer labs, and sports facilities. However, Dyal Singh College is known to have better infrastructure overall.
  • Crowd and Campus Life: Both colleges have a diverse student population and offer various extracurricular activities and student societies. However, Dyal Singh College is known to have a more active campus life, with a larger number of events and activities taking place throughout the year.
  • Faculty: Both colleges have highly qualified and experienced faculty members. However, Dyal Singh College is known for having a more experienced and reputed faculty in various subjects.

Based on the above factors, Dyal Singh College does have an edge over Deshbandhu College.

26 Nov 21B.Sc.(H) Computer Science from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Delhi University (2018)

Dyal Singh College (DSC) is a really good college. The cut offs for Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College (DDUC) for B.Com (Hons) is higher than DSC.

  • SC has one of the best locations in India. It is situated in Lodhi road which is considered to be the most expensive residence.
  • It is close to Khan market which is the most expensive market in india.
  • It is behind the JLN Stadium, which has the closest metro station.
  • The campus of DSC is huge and spacious.
  • The infrastructure is maintained and taken care of almost every year.
  • They have a better faculty than DDUC.

Lastly, it is advised that you choose the college on the basis of a course you want to pursue. At last you will realize that college hardly matters. Because during placements your skills will make you stand out and not the college name.

Nikhil Suri,

24 Nov 21B.Com (Hons.) from Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi (2018)

Among Dyal Singh College (DSC) (morning) and Rajdhani College (morning), students usually prefer DSC rather than Rajdhani. This is due to the following reasons:

  • Mathematics at DSC is said to be the best in Delhi.
  • They have faculty members with more than 40 years of educational experience.
  • They are cooperative and will guide you through the subject's tougher portions.
  • The overall infrastructure and maintenance of the campus has improved a lot.
  • The college canteen provides healthy food items at a reasonable price.
  • Here you will be learning amongst some of the best minds.
  • The only thing that needs some improvement is the internet connection. The whole campus is wifi enabled but has several connectivity issues.
  • The placement is also good. They have a dedicated placement cell as well.

The science group in DSC is considered to be one of the best. They provide proper training and exposure which will ultimately help your career.

Among the mentioned two colleges, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) will be a better choice for B.Com (Hons.).

  • It is well known for its commerce courses.
  • It is considered the best commerce college of Delhi University.
  • B.Com is really good here with proper academics and placement records.
Categories B.Com at SBSC B.Com at DSC
Course Fee INR 23,000 INR 27,000
Placement Percentage 80-90% 78%
Highest CTC 15 LPA 20 LPA
Average CTC 8 LPA 4.8 LPA
Recruiting Companies KPMG, Wipro, JSW, BYJU's etc. TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, etc.

Dyal Singh College (DSC) is good but when compared to SBSC, it is more of a second option for commerce students after SBSC.

SA

Swati Arora,

25 Nov 21B.A (H) Economics, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (2017)

It is suggested that you go for Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC) rather than Dyal Singh College (DSC).

Here are some reasons why:

  • If you want a college with better infrastructure and canteen opt for DSC.
  • On the other hand DCAC provides excellent Extra-curricular activities, societies, clubs, placements and overall exposure.
  • The faculty of both the colleges are good. DSC is better in B.A subjects but not economics.
  • DCAC has better connectivity. It is near to metro stations on the yellow line and pink line. Whereas DSC is only close to JLN stadium metro station on the violet line.
  • Neither of the two colleges offer hostel facilities.
  • But it is easier to find accommodation near DCAC than to DSC.
  • Accommodation near DCAC is also affordable.

Therefore overall DCAC is a much better choice. But in the end it depends on individual preference. Try visiting both the colleges, explore, talk to the alumni or faculty members, if possible and then take the decision.

PK

Priyam Kumar,

16 Nov 21B.Com(H) Bachelor of Commerce Degrees & Finance, University of Delhi (2003)

All the mentioned colleges are good in their own way. But it is important to know the college is not important but your approach towards your course.

B.Com (Hons.) is a very prestigious course and it demands a great deal of dedication and concentration. Getting admission to any of these colleges means that your interest is genuine.

Consider enrolling yourself into any of the professional courses also as the syllabus for professional courses and B.Com (Hons) are quite similar. Go for ICWA due to the fact that it does not have the requirement of articles.

These 3 years in college will shape up your career ahead. If you score good marks and understand all the concepts and are truly invested in the subject, then after a while the college name would not matter, as your skills and knowledge will be given more precedence.
