One of my friends studied at IIIT Bhopal and he has enjoyed his life at the institute. The main attraction is the location as it is well connected with all major states.  The following points are based on my friend’s experience at IIIT Bhopal: In terms of academics, IIIT Bhopal is better than most of the NITs even after established recently.  In the first year, you'd discover that the syllabus of IIIT Operation is very flexible.  The curriculum is designed to that of a moderate level when compared to IIIT Sri City, which has an excellent curriculum. The faculty is recruited from NIT Bhopal. The IT/CSE faculty were hired on a contract basis. You will get hostels in RGPV, which is a university in MP and the 3rd partner of IIIT Bhopal. There's a free transportation facility available for the hostels situated 18 km away from the institute.  You will be given your own room there and it'll all be very cheap as well. A mere 2.5 thousand for a month.  No medical facility is available at the hostel. For recreation and extracurriculars, you will not be given access to MANIT societies but can enjoy its fest.  You might also get a chance to visit IIIT Allahabad for the IIIT inter sports meet. You may want to note that any institute, be it IIT, IIIT, or NIT becomes what it is because of its students. They are the cause of its future ratings, so don't go by a tag, rather realize that nothing is perfect.

IIIT Bhopal is a national institute of importance and is better than most private colleges. Here's what you need to know: Placements IIIT Bhopal has emerged at a faster rate than most NITs and IIITs since its establishment in 2017. The highest package offered was 80+ LPA (revised) by Atlassian for the role of a software engineer to one of our super seniors this year. The average package is 16.5 LPA and the median salary is 15 LPA, which is better than most NITs and IIITs. Companies like Amazon also recruit from IIIT Bhopal. 23 students were selected for a pre-placement offer of 45.5 LPA this year. Academics Academics are average here, and IIIT Bhopal shares some faculties with MANIT Bhopal. IIIT Bhopal's mentor institute is MANIT Bhopal, and classes are held in the NTB building on the MANIT campus. Hostels Hostels are provided only in the first year in RGPV, which is 20 km away from IIIT Bhopal. You are advised to choose the hostel in the first year as it offers an unforgettable experience and an opportunity to make friends. From the second year onwards, you have to live in flats near MANIT on your own. Seniors will be there to provide you with the best accommodation. Clubs IIIT Bhopal has many coding, spiritual, and technical clubs that conduct contests and provide guidance to develop your skills. There are also many sports events throughout the year like Inter-IIIT. If you are confused between a college with a lower branch and IIIT based on placement records, choose IIIT Bhopal, which offers only three branches: CSE, IT, and ECE.

No, you should definitely go for another NITs or IIITs instead of IIIT Bhopal because of the following major reasons: NITs like NIT Bhopal, previously known as MACT, was later converted to NIT. As it is an old and pioneer institute, it has well-established classrooms, labs, faculties, accommodation etc. Teaching quality and research is also very good as you are comparing with IIIT Bhopal. It currently ranks 55 in universities all over India. IIIT Bhopal was newly established and has completed only approx 3 years, and still hasn’t got its own permanent campus and hostels ready. It is currently running in the RGPV campus which clearly means no personal campus, infrastructure or visiting faculties will be there. Also, it lacks proper labs which means little to no research work. Its mentor institute is also MANIT Bhopal which itself is 15 km far away! We can say that IIIT Bhopal significantly lags behind when compared to the NITs and still needs time to withstand in the list of ‘Recognized Institutions’ in India. You can follow this order whenever this kind of confusion arises: IISc Bangalore >IITs > NITs >IIITs >Central universities > State government colleges. So, if you have to choose between any IIIT and NIT, definitely go for the NITs.

Firstly IIITs are newly established colleges and hence they are far behind from good NITs. I have a friend in NIT Silchar. I heard good things about the institute from him.  Here are some of the things that make NIT Silchar a good choice. It is 9th on the list of top 10 NITs. It is the second most premium institute in the northeast after IIT Guwahati. Placements here are top class with great infrastructure and world-class faculty. NIT Silchar is known for its Digital Library which is the biggest, not only in India but in entire South Asia. You should go for NITs and you won't regret it. Rest depends on your research and feasibility.

As all of them are IIITs they are known to have a similar level of curriculum. However, my cousins are currently studying at IIIT Lucknow and IIIT Bhopal. Their honest opinions state that IIIT Lucknow is the best choice among all of them because of the following reasons: The first batch of IIIT Lucknow is placed and none of the other IIITs mentioned has witnessed a single placement season yet. Placements of IIIT Lucknow were so great which is rare for an institute participating in placements for the first time. The permanent campus for IIIT Lucknow is almost ready while for IIIT Bhopal and Surat, the work for construction is yet to start. My cousin is a 1st-year student of IIIT Lucknow and also the very first batch of the newly built permanent campus of IIIT Lucknow. The coding culture at IIIT Lucknow is the best among all the newly built IIITS. Seniors are extremely supportive and Workshops are being conducted by them already. You may face some problems due to not having enough resources as it is a new campus, but so will be the same for other new IIITS. And lastly, Lucknow being a metropolitan city will give you a lot of advantages, with metro being started and Campus being in the city itself. Although quality education is common in all of these IIITs, IIIT Lucknow holds an edge over the others. The points mentioned above may prove to be minor for some of you but for many people out there, these points matter a lot and might have cleared a lot of confusion in your mind.

I know some of the people from both institutes. Based on what I heard from them, IIIT Bhopal is better than IIIT Ranchi.  A few of the reasons to choose IIIT Bhopal are as follows.  Mentor Institute: IIIT Bhopal is mentored by NIT Bhopal and classes are held inside the campus of NIT Bhopal itself. So you will have access to all the experienced faculty and facilities you would have got if you were in NIT. Being in NIT, you can participate in all the national-level competitions. Location: The location of IIIT Bhopal is great. It is located in the peaceful city of Bhopal. It has less traffic and the college is close to both the airport and railway station. Hostel: Hostels for the first are at RGPV University, which is the head university of all the engineering colleges in the state. It has a huge campus with modern facilities. Buses are provided from hostel to college and that too free of cost. Food: The quality of food at the canteen is not so good. Academics: Academics facilities are great and you have to work hard to stay in sync with the syllabus. The course-work will be quite hectic in the first year and you would be given 30,50 or sometimes even 100 questions as an assignment. You will learn C-Programming, HTML, CSS, latex, etc.  You can also check the latest ranking of the institute to compare. The final decision is yours. 

SGSIT Indore is one of the oldest colleges in MP and reputed for its courses, yet enrolling in IIIT Bhopal gives you the environment of the latest curriculum, good programming and the guidance of MANIT Bhopal. Also, as of now, IIIT is running through the campus of MANIT. It is important to keep in mind the fact that IIIT Bhopal has MANIT as a mentor institute which provides it with an additional edge over other colleges of Bhopal. Further, it all depends upon the efforts of a student. When we compare it with other IIITs, we need to understand that the IIITs which were established earlier, including 4 old IIITs, are a far better choice, but if we talk about those which are new like Surat, Bhagalpur, Ranchi, Nagpur, etc., one can expect IIIT Bhopal to be comparable and better in many fields.  Even if we have to match it with some old ones, we can expect it to point out better results in future while keeping in mind it's a fast-growth, proper guidance, and therefore, the passion for college kids towards their field of interest. The scholars are working together to make various clubs, like robotics, programming, metaphysics etc.

A side by side comparison of both the colleges might help you get a clear view on what to expect once you get there: Curriculum: The curriculum mentor of IIIT Kottayam is IIIT Hyderabad which is one of the top-notch institutes for CSE in India. On the other hand, the curriculum mentor of IIIT Bhopal is MANIT Bhopal which doesn’t match the level of IIIT Hyderabad. Closing rank: In 2019, the closing rank for IIIT Bhopal IT was around 41K in the special round. While for IIIT Kottayam CSE, the closing rank was almost 40K at the end of special round-II. From the above comparison, it’s pretty clear that IIIT Kotayyam has an edge over IIIT Bhopal. However, do consider your pool of interest because at the end your skills and hard work matters the most for shaping your future!

As many of my friends have graduated from IIIT Bhopal. So I can assure you IIIT Sonepat is more secure and better than IIIT Bhopal in terms of campus lifestyle, placement opportunities, academic performances, and sports activities, and a lot more. Campus: Recently IIIT Sonepat has been shifted to IIT Delhi Technopark, Sonepat which is nothing but an extension campus of IIT Delhi in Sonepat.  On the other hand, you will find IIIT Bhopal is still running in MANIT, Bhopal. Even its permanent campus is way farther than the developed part of the city.  The hostels for the 1st-year students of the IIIT Bhopal are provided in RGPV Bhopal which is 13 km away from MANIT. Consequently, students are driven by bus to the campus, which is quite a waste of time. This is why my friends say hostel life is not that good in IIIT Bhopal. Meanwhile when there would be a permanent campus of IIIT Bhopal and the placement records would be available the things might be the other way around.

State government focus: Chhattisgarh lacks strong infrastructure and government support for innovation and startups. The government's focus is more on providing basic necessities to the people and votes banks. Therefore, apart from campus placements, it may be challenging to find opportunities in the state. In conclusion, while IIIT Naya Raipur may offer decent placement opportunities, it's important to evaluate other factors such as infrastructure, government support for innovation, and reputation before making a decision. Considering a national institute like NIT may be a better option for a more comprehensive learning experience and better opportunities.
